Thought Stallard would have done better.  Lad used to crap goals till he hit the first team. Turned out to be a decent League 1 striker for 4 or 5 years.  That was it.

I agree to an extent when your after the first couple of contracts.  I've said myself you won't get the same level of player in this league as we did in the 80's as it's more cash driven. I feel more would be looking at the club they'll be playing for after 10 years of stuffing their bank account though.  Derby v any other team in this league, if you have security, is a no brainer if I was a player.

It honestly isn't.  A centre back will always choose strength over pace when it comes to a striker.  It's pace that bothers them, especially the further you go down the leagues.  A Saunders is always better than a Harford.

Yes,John Flamsteed.  Derby also had Lord Plimsoll of ship weight calculation and the fella who invented the lifejacket design used to stop unconscious sailors in the war from sinking that they still use.  Quite nautical for being as landlocked as you can get.

Most likely.  We sold 3 players who would certainly have helped get more points and probably helped us back up and spent it on wages for mercenaries and blokes who never played. 

Nope. Vydra’s problem was the “Derby Way” virus. His best position was playing off the centre forward, but Vydra was either on the bench, played as the bug target man 🙄 or out on the wing.
I reckon he would have been lethal playing off Chris Martin but IIRC he was never given the chance. He only came good when we played to his strengths. 23 seconds in against the Trees springs to mind!
