DesertRam got a reaction from Derby4Me in The Administration Thread
Don't worry, everything is sorted, and we're waiting for CK to fly over here
for the day of press conferences, Rams tv news and interviews , open day at PP
new player and resigned players thoughts etc..
with a big interview with CK & WR about the future, and where we are heading,
namely onward and upwards - It's just a case of which day is it.
2/3 days of celebrations take quite a time to plan!

DesertRam reacted to Dave Mackay Ate My Hamster in The Administration Thread
I know CK has been a little haphazard and inconsistent in his tweets and various communications in this whole process. His "funds" are slightly mysterious, but he clearly has plenty. He's a (questionably how much, we don't know ) wealthy man who's entering into the takeover as a vanity project.
I think Mike Ashley seriously underestimated him as a tyre-kicker and thought he wouldn't be able to get the deal over the line, and he could do what he's done a hundred times, and saunter in at the eleventh hour with the only offer in town.
MA got it wrong. Despite CK's amateurish PR, he clearly has the readies to get this far, hence the reported attempt by Ashley to share the deal late on.
I'm not enthused by either of them, but that's where Mel has left us. The last 2 players at the poker table are the flash boy and the bluffer. Maybe they're both bluffing.
It's looking like CK will - eventually - get it over the line, and if he does we'll all be grateful.
I only hope that we can just get back to supporting our great club again whilst living within our means.
Sadly, nothing is certain given how far we've fallen.
Hopeful, but still rather wary.

If we have ceased as a club, some people would have truly lost their minds if they don't have an ounce of patience right now.

I've got tears in my eyes, after reading the BBC article
Can't wait to see what additions WR going to get. I'm hoping
that we can get some regular Rams tv updates along the way
and interviews, it'll help to stave off the tedium ?

Billy Davies never deserved that kneeing he got from Nigel Clough.

It's the off season, so what are some things you'd never hear a Derby fan say.
I'll kick off with a few:
I have a real soft spot for Kenny Burns.
Bobby Campbell was a much underrated striker.
I always knew that Claude Davis was the final piece of the jigsaw prior to the 2007 season
Robert Maxwell loved the club and the city with all of his heart.
Leeds were too big to come down, I'm happy for them.
It was great to see Cloughie take over down the road.
We never really deserved to beat QPR, it was a fair result.
I really admire the sportsmanship of Brice Samba.
I felt terrible for the home fans when Marriott's second goal went in during the playoffs.
I quite liked the BBG, but it never really had much atmosphere.
I thought the ref in the Juventus game was outstanding.
And finally, for @B4ev6is - I LOVE those pink shirts.

Well first thing I want to say thankyou bottom of my heart with out you I know what might have been that would be a nightmare that I did not want. I will back you and rooney and the lads that will were that great derby county shirt with pride and what it stands for and we shall make derby county side great again but in my eyes gaints derby county has started to wake up. I know with rooney at the helm I think good times will be back soon.

DesertRam reacted to SirBrian in Wayne Rooney
What Wayne as done over the season to keep Derby in business by the fighting spirit and never give up attitude is not only at the football club, the effect of Derby County is throughout Derbyshire, if Derby were no more then the economy in Derby would plunge and many jobs would be gone whether in pubs, cafe's, shops etc.
The council may well have taken note of what Wayne as done and they feel he deserves the reconition for business reasons, not only for football, if Wayne had not stayed then i for one doubt that we would have a club.

I'm going to assume that everything is done and dusted now, and that all the insiders are
keeping quiet for the big reveal, sometime next week, with interviews, meet and greets
etc. while we all listen to the plans and vision for the future of this megaclub
(that's what i'm praying is going to happen)

DesertRam reacted to Ram-Alf in The Administration Thread
The Russian relinquished ownership of Chelsea and put it in the hands of a trust, The Premier League and the FA with the help of the Government made sure that a club the size and with the financial clout of new owners and live in the capital wouldn't go to the wall, The £4.25 billion paid will go to help those in Ukraine at some point.
Chelsea seen as a fashionable London based football club
Derby County seen as...not that important

DesertRam reacted to On the Ram Page in Thank You Rams TV
Although an avid reader, I rarely contribute to this site, but couldn’t let the season pass without a ‘Shout Out’ for Rams TV.
Throughout a traumatic season, although in many ways a hugely enjoyable one, there have been many accolades for the Team, Coaching Staff and back room staff. Part of that back room staff has been Rams TV and what a part they have played this season, although rarely mentioned in those accolades.
Dare I say that Owen Bradley has been one of Mel Morris’s best signings! I admired him on Radio Derby but he has grown to a new level over the last year or so (despite occasional dress malfunctions!). Always professional, reasoned and grounded (Mr Dawes at RD take note), his commentaries and interviews are always a good listen. Shaun Barker has added to mix this year and has been very listenable. A great combination.
I am sure that our potential new owner has been avidly watching their work in the USA over the last few weeks and hopefully, after the players, he will ensure that they are signed up for a prolonged period.
I don’t know if Owen reads this site, but if not, and someone knows him, please pass on, at least my thanks for his great work this year. He is the spokesperson for Rams TV but obviously has a great team behind him.
Well done Rams TV

DesertRam reacted to JoetheRam in The coronabrexit thread. I mean, coronavirus thread
OK what's in this pandemic treaty that's so bad? Not heard anything about it.
That petition says it can't be allowed to happen unless approved via a referendum (yes, another one!). The implication is that it would suddenly become acceptable because the public voted for it, is it not?
Can't be anything that bad, if we allow Pandemic specialist Bob down the pub to vote for it.

DesertRam reacted to Gee SCREAMER !! in From being hard done by, to being despised?
The quality of people who openly despise us means it's of little relevance. Lets hope they add Reading, Stoke, Boro with their tax bill, all those who write of massive sums with loss covering share issue and interchanging players between clubs for FFP purposes to the list . Hope they all enjoy self flagellating themselves because it's all of them.
