It’s one of these for me:

    1) Genuinely believes that the biggest takeaway from the Mel era was that chopping and changing managers constantly was the problem, as opposed to just hiring bad ones (which was the problem)

    2) He can’t afford to sack him, which is troubling in itself because that’s something you really need to be able to afford in order to run a football club…

    3) He is publicly backing him but has different thoughts privately (a bit like @Duracellwas suggesting)

    4) He is quite happy to let us go through years of being a League One club because a League One Derby County is something he can afford to run, as opposed to a Championship one.

Some of these mean Clowes needs to sell.

  2. If there’s one thing you can guarantee, the moment we get someone playing well they’ll get an ACL.

this club is cursed - Leicester win the prem, forest are going to end up winning something and we’ll still be sat here, bloody gypsy curse.

  3. In my time following Derby I don’t think I’ve seen many come back from where Warne stands now. He’s fast losing the crowd and the players look disinterested.

im struggling to put together an argument, beyond the fact we’re skint, that he should stay. The plan was to sign experienced pros and get out of league 1, barring a miracle this isn’t happening this season, after which we will have to build a new squad again.

With all of the above in play it becomes really hard to how there’s a way back for him.

Warne's coaching is the reason that Mendez-Laing doesn't put his head up, or Wildsmith doesn't catch it. These poor mature footballers cannot be expected to take responsibility for their own performances. Bradley and Nelson have been a disgrace, and I don't buy for one second that Warne is coaching them to defend so poorly.

I’d drive him back to Luton, what did we see in him?

That really annoyed me tonight. The club the size of derby and our manager saying an Oxford team is better than ours. He was allowed to bring 7 of the players in. Should of known after he brought springett and Harvey white in what we were in for

This is where I’m at, it’s not really on, just don’t say it, what does it add? It’s hardly going to win him any plaudits amongst the fans and, worse, just makes him look a bit s***.

To be fair, I wasn’t expecting him to be sacked for at least another few months. But that after match interview, wow. He genuinely might have lost the dressing room.

Bit soon for that but he’s definitely taken a step on the road to it.

Never thought I’d say this but I can’t see us getting anything off Burton, we start 1 down as Bennett will score and I just don’t see that team scoring 2 in a month of Sundays, the balance is miles off and there’s 0 spark or pace.
