We’re in league 1, this is the mend and make do league, we need to learn how to buy cheap sell high.
The reality is players we would’ve picked up relatively easily in the championship are now off the menu. We’ll have first pick of those at our level and decent loan opportunities.
yes it would’ve been incredible to start with a full set of good strikers but it’s not that realistic, if we get a youngster in and any one of smith / Rhodes / waggy we would’ve done very well.

For me, there's little doubt that of those who remain from last season, Max is by some way the most technically accomplished. And many of us fans have long suggested that he looks better higher up the pitch. With a very solid looking defence now in place, it appears that's precisely how PW is planning on playing the lad and I honestly think Max is looking sharper than at this stage in any season I can recall.
As for the transfer speculation, if there's even an ounce of truth to the Hull bid rumour, then Max won't be going there. They are not suddenly going to find an extra £2.5m +++ and more importantly, if Warne is to meet expectations this season, he has to ensure Max stays.
A final thought would be that it's worth remembering that Max loves this club and has always been rock solid in his aim to be successful right here, at Derby. I'm probably kidding myself (as I'd hate the alternative), but my hunch is that he'll extend but with an escape clause that's fair to both parties, should we fail to secure promotion again this season.
The problem for us is the acceptance of the new reality; 'every player has a price', is now, 'every player has a price we don't like'.
If any team in championship wants to buy a league 1 player enough it's going to happen. We're comparatively skint to every club in the championship, sadly this means we cant drive much of bargain beyond refusing the first few feeler offers, then it's up to the player.
We have to be smart with recruitment and accept if we do unearth someone good they will leave.

Ferrie Bodde I think?
Huw Jenkins did us a massive favour with hindsight. The guy essentially never played again after busting both knees, even ended up in an artificial coma at one point.
It seems even the mention of a transfer to us can inspire the gypsies curse....

We probably had more shots today than you've had away from home all season 😂
4 away games to try and beat a record that even the 'worst team in history' don't hold...
That away record is utterly embarrassing isn’t it?

League One though.. ?♂️
I remember the days of losing at Carlisle, the playoff heartbreaks in the third tier..
The novelty wears off pretty quickly
You’re the novelty for an entire league, enjoy….
you’re getting towelled by the teams around you, it’s not like you’re even competing with a side with 0 wins.
The more times you’re on sky the better ?

Systemically wrong, no goals away and this isn’t a recent thing, we’ve been utter dross away for far far too long.
it should not be the case with a half decent squad at this level.

I'm still perplexed more haven't done the Watford thing and just bought a club in another league to facilitate this?
It's seemingly untouchable as a work around for FFP measures.
This
what’s the explanation as to why other don’t do it? Seems a loophole that they are not interested in.

from this point forward can we as a fan base promise to stop ignoring red flags when they are staring us in the face
I think most rational people saw through this guy weeks ago, problem is, most are beyond caring anymore.
football in this country is consolidating, my estimate is we’ll be down to 1/2 leagues within the next 10 / 15yrs, 1992 and the premier league wasnt without cost.

I rather save our club and our home and most of all save derby county.
But how long do we carry on in this bind?

Phoenix club!!!
leave all these vultures behind and start again.
-
CK was always a mouthy chancer, I stopped feeling the pain some time ago, sadly we’re not an attractive proposition.
Are any groups actively involved in a phoenix club? To me this is the only way forward now - for the fans. Sod the money men, leave them with an empty ground and all the debt.
-
The admins should’ve made 100% sure he had the cash, he’s a del boy to me.
i fear, even if he does manage to sell some lawn mower engines and eventually buy us, it won’t be pretty.
-
He’s a front for borrowed cash, he was at best 50/50.
Also comes across as a chancer which doesn’t help, but you have to if you’re in that role.
-
When we do set the ball rolling on the phoenix club?
if nothing else it might sharpen the focus if, all of sudden, a new club is formally created, If we don’t need to use it we haven’t lost anything.
it’s getting to the point where drawing a line under this might be the best way forward.

What can we do,
within the law, that would piss the little Bamford off?
plane with a banner on the back? Billboard with something on?
-
isn't the risk here that we are worth more dead than alive? The EFL will have all they need to push for improved distribution of wealth, or is that not the play they're making? if it isnt, any ideas as to what it is?
-
If this is correct, it’s an absolute disgrace.
Regardless of what may or may not have done, this is not right and would not be permitted outside the bizarre and, arguably, corrupt EFL.
How long before there is a substantive change in this broken organisation?

We should be protesting just like them lot at Old Trafford.
Take away the plastic fans and the Mancs are a knowledgeable lot. Derby used to be the same until they were brainwashed. The club's on the brink and arguably in a worse position than 83-84 and we just let it continue because Melvyn is one of our own.
It's a shambles. Wake up !!
Exactly this. The sad thing is we’ve become indifferent. I for one don’t care anymore, football isn’t the game it was and, as a result, I don’t really watch it, it’s sad to see Derby in a pathetic state but I’m not too fussed anymore.

Because saying opposite would be rather counter productive, regardless of the reality.
