  1. I can’t help but feel this is a bit short-termist from knight and bird. But accept that a footballer’s career is also very short.

it’s entirely possible we’re back alongside them next season, given they seem to be only battling Preston for title of most consistently mid-table, I’m not sure it’s the right destination.

I think we'll see a transition towards 343/3421. It's the only real way you get Blackett-Taylor, Mendez-Laing and one of Ward/Wilson in the side together.

That would mean a back 3 of Nyambe, Nelson and Cashin backed up by Rooney (next season), Bradley and Forsyth. Ward, Wilson, Elder and Sibley our wing backs.

If we make Adams permanent (which I expect will be the plan), Hourihane to leave at the end of his contract, and Bird's loan to end... Adams will be partnered with another new signing next season (for now it would be Bird). Thompson and another will be backups.

We would also need 2 new wingers to compete with Blackett-Taylor and Mendez-Laing, as well as a couple new forwards (expect a new deal for Collins).

When we signed Fornah, I saw nothing in his stats to set him apart from Smith. It's no surprise to me it isn't quite working as Warne had hoped.

However, when I looked at Adams' he was averaging close to double Fornah's defensive output, albeit mostly at a lower level and having not played much for a couple of years. I just knew he would make a difference. Then his interview... with an infectious personality like his, he's it just adds to the certainty of him being a good signing.

    Re; Adams.

I was at Molineux when Bob Malcolm left a similar impression on many fans. One swallow doesn’t make a summer etc etc.

Printed tickets can't be in two places at once.  They're either waiting for you at the ground, or they are "In the post".

I suspect the latter, unless you made a specific request for the former, but probably best to check with our ticket office... preferably about 3 days ago!  😲

They can, but they’d be Schrodringer’s tickets not yours.

Obviously he's doing right by the club who gave him his chance and it shows how much he appreciates that by signing but make no mistake, he'll be gone in the summer. This way the club gets the max amount poss.

Precisely, he needs ti move on if we’re still in league 1 in the summer.

Sounds like the weird little Manning vision to me. Impression in these parts is he'll replace Matty James who's contract is unlikely to be extended in the summer.

I'd take half as good, JK has been among our best players all season.

That’s why you’re in mid table obscurity, simply.

Look at Hulls forward options now. Players can't wait to go there

Strange comparison. We’re a million miles off being at that level now, what’s more concerning is that we’re acting like a mid table League one side.

Hope I am wrong but looking less and less likely Smith will be joining, don't think Wednesday will budge on the deal, and looks like we don't have the funds/restrictions in place, to up our offer.

Hope we have a good alternative as we deffo need another number 9 option. Fingers cross we get one over the line, in time.

Way I see this, is that it’s extremely hard. We can’t spend, where do you go from there?

Realistically you’re looking at a youngster on loan, is that really what we need - no, but other than a buy now pay later, which is rightly not much incentive for the selling club, we’re back in the bargain bucket, full of aging, high risk crocks.

  8. Went today so can comment with some legitimacy for once.

In short, I thought we were very average, there’s a top 6 team in there but I think the division being really poor is helping massively.

Other thoughts - Cashin won’t be here post January, he’s by far the best the player we have and I’d suggest us being held back by the standard around him.

I thought Peterborough were a solid footballing team and it dawned on me how far we’ve fallen watching them stroke the ball around us likes cones - I remember the Yeovil away goal where the boot was firmly on the t’other foot; sad times.

With it being a single game sample, I assume we’ve played much better and much worse at times and that over a season we’ll likely do enough to scrape into the playoffs. Not great and certainly done little to change my view on Warne’s style / approach - I don’t much like it.

On paper, Cooper did an amazing job of getting them promoted, keeping them up ahead of 3 more established clubs and then keeping them up again in their 2nd season.

But it’s similar to Chris Hughton at Brighton. Cooper is at his limit. And Forest’s owner will feel they can push on with more funding under a better manager.

Cooper would have taken Forest down. Not this season. But probably next year as Leicester will almost certainly be fine while Leeds or Southampton would spend again on top of decent squads.

If Forest are to change manager, now is the best time to do it. They won’t go down because the bottom 3 are useless and a new manager has the next 9 months to get them playing a better, more progressive brand of football.

I can see why Forest supporters are upset but that’s out of blind loyalty for a guy who has taken them back to the PL and kept them there. That blind loyalty is overlooking the fact they play crap football and relegation is inevitable if they stick with Cooper.

Nigel Adkins suffered a similar fate at Southampton. There are better out there than Cooper and the PL is the place all the best managers want to be.

    Nuno is a step up.

I think it’s a case of he’s a better fit, wolves had the same model and he did well there.

regardless, it’s a free hit this season, the bottom 3 are a joke.

Burnley (20th before play) 5-0 Sheffield Utd (18th)

If we could rely on Sheffield Utd not getting some more awful VAR decisions fall in their favour they'd 100% definitely be bad enough to break it.

Problem is there’s an increasing smell of using VAR to keep games interesting and the league interesting

About 6.5k . However the 800 Crewe fans made a hell of a noise . Including “Your grounds too big for you , can we play you every week and football in a library “. Us few in the South stand did our best to lift the lads.

We’re in such a mess, we might well be still around but this is just sad.

im just apathetic to it now, i dont think Warne is right and i dont think clowes has the cash we need, ive got a horrible feeling we’re becoming an established 3rd tier club.

  12. 3 hours ago, RoyMac5 said:

Why? It isn't part of the business plan a Reading fan said that when talking about their sacking of Ince. It doesn't have to be paid in a lump sum and could easily be covered in the budget.

Warne is still here because Clowes isn't bothered about instant promotion, as someone posted then he'd have to fund a Championship squad,

If this is true he needs to be looking at bringing in some investment. It’s a joke we’re in this league and it’s even worse you’re suggesting we’ve got an owner with an ambition to stay in it.

  13. 13 minutes ago, Andicis said:

Derby can tell journalists whatever they like, if the football continues people will vote with their feet and Clowes won't have much of a choice.

Saving grace in it all, the fans have power in league 1
