When the players came out for the first game this season I had a tear in my eye. It was good to be back. I’m sure there will be heightened emotion today too.
I’m up for it.

It’s actually really simple isn’t it? Support your club or not. I know that those who go today will be amazing, regardless of how we have been run. 
At the moment we have a club to support so let’s make the most of it and support them.

Let's say a potential owner is a major shareholder at say a betting company, in the summer they replace 32Red with their company.
They now have Wayne Rooney walking around with their company name on his chest.
Or Asia, a Chinese owner comes in, takes the club on tour over their in the summer parading their Wayne Rooney around, swapping Man Utd shirts for Derby.
Now he's sold his image rights company, he is an asset. 
Not suggesting we take whatever results and performances that come as we have the Rooney asset, but just not sure it counts for nothing.
Having big names at your club makes it easier to market and make money. I mean look at 32Red, they paid us extra as we signed Rooney, wore the number 32.
It's a business remember.

Emotions will be running high today, Stoke fans will be mocking us mercifully.  Let’s hope today, win or lose, can end without trouble.

Needless to say, today's game is huge.
If we lose, we lose, but we need to see the players leave everything on the pitch, IF they do that, as Wigan did, dare I say we stand a chance of surviving, albeit a slim chance.
Now if they walk out, heads down looking defeated then it's finished, we're down without a fight and I fear Rooney will walk despite showing incredible loyalty so far. 
The players need to step up for him, if not for us, and we, as fans, love him or hate him need to give him all the backing we can starting from today. 
We do not want to be on the lookout for a new manager whilst in administration, a squad full of kids.
-12 is a given, we know that's coming as it's been confirmed, however if the EFL write off all the other potential punishment as they did with Swindon due to new ownership, we may be in a position to bring in some new faces in January.
Let's be honest, the EFL are not out to punish us, the fans, the club itself. Their crosshairs are lined squarely on Mel's forehead. If he's out the picture, they may lower their weapons.
Understand this is all very optimistic given what has happened, the odds are not stacked in our favour, however I can't sit here and demand the players do not walk on to the pitch today already defeated whilst having that attitude myself.
If there ever was a time for siege mentality, this is it.

I guess where I’m at this morning is sad but waiting for more news. 
We have to see the impact of administration and whether someone comes in for us. I feel sorry for those who will be affected most, I.e. the staff, the players and the most vulnerable of our supporters. But also the businesses that will be negatively impacted by our incompetence. 
The saddest thing for me is the image of Derby County football club will be forever tarnished by this whole fiasco.
 I hope the players will continue to play with the passion they have shown, starting today.
 
 

I'm hoping they look at how Rooney has stuck with the job during this period and decide to give a chance once the embargo has finished and give him the chance to build a team.

Serious question, have you actually been to any games live this season because if you have I think you would know the difference 

I think we're playing some very attractive football at times this season, just lacking end product. 
Admittedly Tuesday was different,  but that was done on purpose to get us a very valuable point.

I reckon there's plenty of threads you can go on to have another whine about Mel, but no, you had to do it here. 

Not knowing the bloke, can only guess, but with all these people telling him he could have walked after last season, head held high after keeping us up.
Maybe he sees just surviving not enough, he wants more than that, either way like him or not, as you say he does deserve credit. 
It's been an immensely difficult job, especially the first in management. 

I get this I also feel the claims that he undermined Cocu just to get the job extremely odd.  Yeh the multi million footballer with a worldwide brand gets here and thinks my god I must do everything to get this gig it is the best thing in football makes no sense to me.  Not sure what we have done to deserve his loyalty throughout the mess this club has become but he deserves credit at least for not abandoning us.
