If Cashin goes would look at Josh Earle from Fleetwood, who's also in last year of his contract

I honestly feel some people need to give their head a good wobble. I really think some people think recruiting new players is as easy as going down to Tesco and buying a loaf of bread. Maybe we should wait till September 1 before judging our summer recruitment too harshly. And even giving players a decent chance to show how good/bad they are before we call them a reincarnation of Bobby Malcolm/King Kevin Hector.

Asking the wrong person but can't imagine anyone in this league paying him what we are.
I didn't see anyone moaning about the signings of Ward, Elder and Bradley but it doesn't mean they're good players on inspection, does it?
Hourihane is fine at this level but you can't ignore his age, mobility and how he fits with CM's currenlty at the football club (Bird, Thommo). I think it's a worthwhile point to consider, if he is our assumed highest paid player - could we have got in two younger, more effective CM's instead that offer us a it more in areas in which we're lacking.
I appreciate it was bodies in over the long term plan last season but a year down the line I'm unsure whether our rushed business was great and is a major part of the pickle we find ourselves in.

Yes, there was the occasional dud but overall the recruitment durning Nigel’s reign was brilliant. Great value for what you got. Simon sure had and eye for a player.

Always wished that they’d remained with Nigel as manager and Mac brought in as first team coach. I think that would have been a perfect combination.

One of my irritations with football is the fans who give all sorts of horrific abuse to players but get all "I'm so hurt and offended the this player who got appalling things shouted at him as said he doesn't like the group of people who just did that"

    Get behind the lad.
1 in 3 striker at this level.
He won't be the only striker we sign.
Plus by all accounts he works his arse off.

It’s only July 1st. We’ve been in pre-season for a few days. We’ve not even played a friendly.
We have made four signings, all of whom will strengthen the squad and give us more depth and flexibility and all of them have a good track record in this division and experience of the division above.
Knowing how quickly deals can come together, why would anyone be twitching?
We need to judge Warne and this squad with the fullness of time. We have to see how the team looks on the pitch and how it performs in relation to the rest of the division.
Warne is looking for a winning blend. It’s not necessarily always big names and big reputations that deliver the best teams. Last year’s champions Plymouth were not laden with star names, but what they did have was a group of players that bought into the manager’s vision and executed it on the pitch.
Let’s wait and see if Warne can assemble a group in a similar manner and let’s not let our assumptions hold us in a vice-like grip. We could be one of the best footballing sides in the division come August 5th.

McGoldrick has said he wanted to join Notts no matter what. I don't know what we could have offered him to get him to stay, I'd rather the club operate sensibly than try and put silly offers in front of 35 year old players to get them to stay.
Roberts was never our player. On loan from a Premier League club, now wanted by Championship clubs. You can't pin that on Paul Warne.
Jason Knight has had his international manager saying he should be/needs to be playing at a higher level. Probably true but all international managers will want their players playing as high as possible. All that's come from Derby is that claims he's close to leaving aren't true.
Hourihane has a job coaching 15 year olds in the evening and the media took a few words he said and spun them out of context for a story.
Rodrigues' dad has apparently followed Oxford on Instagram. That's about it. There's been nothing substantial to say he's going anywhere yet.
Yes business is being done, but slowly. This link tracks the done deals, it's hardly thriving with activity just yet. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/transfers
Local reporters have said we are close on deals but players are still on holiday. We seem to want to operate in a much quieter way, which is much better. We don't need to play out transfer sagas publicly.
We need to sign players, and we will sign players. We still have 56 days until the season starts, it's hardly time to panic. It's lucky we're having nice weather at the moment, lots of people will be able to put their freshly washed bedding out to dry after wetting it because McGoldrick has joined Notts County.

I’m not sure I get your point.
So yes, Jefferson Lerma, the Colombian international has left premier league Bournemouth for premier league Crystal Palace on a free.
Rumours are one player moving clubs, even a few players moving clubs, is not direct evidence of inactivity on Derby County’s summer recruitment. The transfer window isn’t officially open until the 14th, the players aren’t due back for pre-season training until later in the month, just because some other transfers have been announced in the world of football it doesn’t mean the club aren’t doing anything towards our own transfer business. 🤷🏻‍♂️
So long as we do sign players before the season starts I think we’ll be ok. Enjoy the sunshine and wait for some news.

    Unpopular opinion...
I think it's admirable that he wants to play out the end of his career at his boyhood club. Certain players of that age might chase the money (Players going to the Saudi League for example), but he is doing this from his support and love of Notts County.
I would love him to stay, but hats off to his motives if he does go.

Yes would be fair to say this.
However it's obvious still at this juncture that some folks still cannot bring themselves to admit that the ruination of the club and its near disappearance was down to the stewardship of one person and one person alone.

There is a lot of displeasure on here about James Collins and lack of signing of a striker.
Collins is working really hard and is going through a lean patch as all strikers do and we should give him a break and support him.
We haven't signed a backup striker and are apparently looking at free agents but no-one has pointed out that we had a young striker, Dajaune Brown, on the bench on Monday night who didn't get a kick.
While he may have been making up the numbers, Warner must have had confidence to have him there and he may be a hidden gem who is yet to get a chance.
One is to hope that we are not going back to making mistakes by signing players, spending money on more wages, and blocking the path from the academy as we have done in the past.

Fozzy's had 3 ACLs. Would you characterise him as having a poor work ethic?
I think recurring injuries are more to do with genetics and the fact that many clubs prioritise an early return from injury over the player's physical welfare.

Disappointing to read some fans' comments about Curtis. He's always needed games off the back of an injury and the need to find someone to criticise every game, no matter how good the performance as a team, is wearing thin. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course, but there are players who have earned the right to avoid pointless, over the top pelters. Curtis is definitely one of them IMO.

Think you need to get your facts right.
Whilst Keogh's appeal to the EFL failed, his appeal to industrial tribunal  succeeded.
Basically a passenger of a car was sacked whilst his colleagues who were convicted of drunk driving weren't.
Difference between them was they had a resale value but  Keogh didn't.
So we treated him like cattle and got rid.
