I was thinking that. That was so different to last night.

sage got a reaction from Miggins in New joke thread (trigger alert, may offend if you want it to)
I was driving home tonight and a policeman stopped me and asked me to blow into his bag
I said 'why?'
He replied 'my chips are too hot'

I'm not an economist (my expertise is in political theory) but if you allow big institutions in local communities to fail that does have an impact on the local economy. Think of all the DCFC employees, the pubs and restaurants that do business around the area on match days etc. etc. that will be affected if the club goes under. It would have a ripple effect that harms businesses in the area that would have a further effect etc.

HMRC know they won't get the whole lot up front. They also won't want to write the rest off.
It's all down to how we pay off the rest. They will want X amount per year but that won't really work with a football club almost certain to be in League One next year. We, I imagine, will want a flexible pay back option based on revenue/which division we are in.

Seeing as the administrators have repeatedly stated that liquidation is not a likely outcome, I find this article, and its timing in particular, very odd indeed.
A cynic might wonder if a certain someone, with a knack for putting stories in the papers to put pressure on our previous owner, might now be doing the same thing to the administrators, in order to push through a sale to their preferred party.

For a 1 year contract on £4.5k a week he has been decent. He isn't the masterstroke we had hoped for after a few games but he has been ok.

Hmm , I don't remember you posting funny stuff on this board or mocking yourself, but maybe I missed it because I can disappear for days at a time. Or perhaps it was just too subtle for me.
I shall be sure to look out for it from now on though.
As for laughing emojis. Well, they tend to get used online by people who probably aren't laughing, but are feeling outraged and their highest form of outrage is to be seen to be laughing at the perpetrators of their outrage....probably
Or people who aren't funny but want others to think they are and haven't got any canned laughter on hand.
Not that I like to speculate you understand , ?♂️

Yesterday, the replacement arrived.
Silly Billys at St Austell Brewery sent the wrong beer - instead of the Bad Habit, they sent another box of Black Square, which is £25 more expensive. So being the scrupulously honest person I pride myself in being, I really ought to tell them.

OMG!
Why has nobody else thought of this, and why has it taken so long for someone to mention it?
What a cracking post, and something that defo needs to be discussed on here. Well done on raising the issue. Let's hope someone at the club is as on the ball as you are.
I'd love to read everyone else's views on this.
My own opinion iszzz...

Positive news is that deaths are falling (although high), rates of hospitalisation are falling (although still high). Cases have been rising to very high levels but seemed to have flattened off and starting to fall a bit.
Think the gov are doing the right thing here by telling everyone to put on masks inside and frankly shouldn't have stopped saying.
This new variant has got people worried but there's still a lot we don't know so taking precautions is good but we've not got much to go on it whether how much in practice it impacts the vaccines effectiveness, how infectious it is and most importantly whether it's more or less dangerous.
I don't think we need to be doom and gloom yet.
