Pikeyram reacted to angieram in Wildsmith
Joe came to us without a regular first team spot, probably on a modest wage, made the Number One shirt his own and won this season's Golden Glove for League One.
He will be in demand, quite a change for a player who two seasons ago wasn't getting game time.
His stock has never been higher and it's a short career (especially for someone breaking through relatively late). He will be maximising that for the future of his family.
I enjoyed his time here at Derby, he was quite a character, especially when in front of us away fans. I wish him all the best.

Whenever I manage to get up for a game and the majority of the ground start singing that chant really gets me.
Great to hear everybody in fine voice and its sounds amazing, but it is a nod back to the tough times we have been through and are coming out of.
I am in my own little Derby bubble down here, but the worry was all consuming back then, looking on here and the DET for updates and any crumb of positive news. You don't know what you've got till its (almost) gone.

Pikeyram reacted to Simmo’s left foot in How much do you think we have to spend on actual transfer fees?
The extra revenue will just cover our existing losses. Pre COVID I believe we hit around £30 million turnover, and as a club we are set up to operate at that level of income now. Maybe some more SKY TV money next season.
So I'd expect a modest amount to be spent on fees, maybe enough to buy Adams, and don't forget the purchase of CBT is actually a summer signing also. Those two together we are looking towards £750k
So, hopefully Adams, and the already signed CBT, I suspect the rest will be signing up free agents on 3 year contracts, partially funded by releases. This and the remaining wages budget, and we will be hitting break even. Clowes Developments will cover any modest losses, but he will expect the club to generally run within forecast cash flows. Sustainability....
The extra ticket sales last season, particularly the last half a dozen home games would have been very welcome, and may well have covered the CBT fee actually, but its just reducing the loss.
Don't anybody think we have a war chest to spend. We don't. Next season is a consolidation season, so we can reestablish ourselves. The rebuild continues.

Fair play to Carlisle. 9th on the list is a great achievement considering where they are geographically and in the table.

I remember climbing up the fence to be one of the first on the pitch at the end. As I got to the top, I looked down, and the gates had been opened and everyone was running on!
Great day that! One of those days that doesn't get talked about enough.

Pikeyram reacted to Fife Ram in Hi from Fife Scotland
Hi new member, all the way up in sunny Fife, just joined today, never really bothered about forums before but feel exciting times are back around the corner for the Rams so here I am to keep up with the news for the new season etc
looking forward to the new season and hopefully end back where the club belongs. If Ipswich can do it then there’s no reason why the Rams can’t.

I don't get all this we mugged WBA, many baggies fans have been bitter about it ever since. I keep reminding them that we deserved our spot in the Premier by finishing 8 points ahead of them in the league, likewise Bolton deserve to go up and have finished 10 points clear of Oxford and I wouldn't begrudge them a lucky win in the final.
QPR was a treble mugging, we finished well ahead of them, we outplayed them in the final and they cheated FFP.

Urghhh Andy Townsend being a cheating so n so. Never liked the bloke. Crap pundit too. Johnathon Hunt 87 minute winner if my brain remembers correctly. Felt joyous. And about the only thing hunt ever did.

Pikeyram reacted to Steve Buckley’s Dog in Worst Refereeing decision for and against Derby.
I remember being rather incensed by Wanchope’s sending off against Middlesbrough. I still recall the atmosphere that day, as the ten men went on to beat them, as being amongst the best. Derby fans are always at their best when faced with a bit of injustice, I have always thought.
Harry Kewell’s dive was a disgrace. Cheating is part of that club’s DNA.
I am also still irrationally annoyed by Bobby Davison getting a yellow card after colliding with Martin Hodge on a frozen BBG pitch in an FA cup tie. I think I should let that one go really!

I’d quite like a mini Scottish tour - Arbroath on a Tues night would be great, it’s literally 5-10m from the sea and I’d like to try one of their famous Steak & Black Pudding Pies.
Elgin or Inverness on the Thurs night and Queens Park would be great for a night out in Glasgow on the Sat night.
A few pints of ‘heavy’ and a Battered Mars Bar & Chips supper,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Aye that’ll dooo fay meee !!!! 😃🐏

The 3.00pm blackout is still in place so expect most of our home games to be obscure days and times. They're not going to move the "flagship" Premier League spots so most likely Friday evenings and Saturday and Sunday lunchtimes which I expect will annoy most and spell the end of matchday rituals. Such a shame.

Definitely one of my favourite players within the past ten (or ever!) years and I'm sure many of you feel the same. Epitomises our club.

Yeah, but they don't have Birds bakery in London. No West End nightclub will bring more pleasure than two vanilla slices and an elephants foot.

1988 Derby 4-2 Wimbledon: Deano’s debut. Nuff said
1996 Derby - Man Utd 1: Laursen’s stunning free kick. And Igor putting on a clinic, man-marking the reigning FWA player of the season Eric Cantona out of the game. Kung Fu Eric didn’t get a sniff.
2010 Derby 3-0 Preston: The height of that purple patch with Kuqi upfront and Alberto Bueano running riot. Really thought Nigel had finally unlocked the potential that day
2022 Derby 1-0 Oxford: Not a great game, but I’m sure that I wasn’t the only one in the crowd that shed a tear or two from the relief & joy at the fact we still had a football club to support
