When Duncan arrived my concern was it might block Stretton's path to the first team, and I thought Stretton deserved his chance. But it was also an exciting prospect to have this star England youth striker arrive because we definitely need a goalscorer.
What Stretton shows players like Duncan is that there is a path to the first team from the U23s, albeit hampered at the moment by the EFL and their rules about players of professional standing. But things like that can change quickly in football and Bobby needs to put himself in a position to take advantage of that if they do. I still hope we can unearth the player in him.

"simply doing his job" I doubt he signed up for or expected to be doing the job that he has now
" He can’t really lose in this situation" Derby are still odds on to be relegated, that is losing, and some would put the blame on him
" I prefer to see a response on the pitch" if you haven't seen a response on the pitch this season compared to the final months last season you're not looking
"hand some bibs out, put a few cones down, answer a few questions" and part with some of his own money to keep the show on the road

I disagree. This season is far from done. The outcome inevitably will be relegation but it allows us @ 10 months to prepare for next season. We can offload players we don’t want or can’t afford. Blood players who will be needed next year and scout players who will be great in league one. We can build momentum and togetherness amongst fans and staff alike and hit league one with all guns blazing!!! This is probably the most important period in our recent history, far, far from done
