There is at least part of the problem! Dragging down in the cold wet and dark, not for me anymore.
In League 1 at least games are played 3.00 Saturdays most of the time. Might go those again.

GB SPORTS reacted to Albert in Season 21 - 22 survival bid statistics
The way I tend to look at this is by looking at our 21 point deduction over the whole season, rather than a lump sum. Think of it as amoritising the deduction, the straight line method, of course.
Anyhow, on current points, this is the bottom 5 using this method:
    20. Cardiff 18
    21. Reading 17
    22. Peterborough 15
    23. Derby 13.3
    24. Barnsley 11
We're not well placed, we're basically 4 points below where we'd be on 'par' for survival, but the situation looks more manageable at the very least.
The thought linked to this is that usually 1 point per game is enough for survival, so the relegation battle can be seen as:
    Win: +2 points v rivals
    Draw: no change
    Loss: -1 point v rivals
When averaged over time. The points deduction is basically making it so the above is the same, but minus 0.46 points per game, ie:
    Win: +1.54 v rivals
    Draw: -0.46 v rivals
    Loss: -1.46 v rivals
So really, we need about 3 wins to put ourselves on par, then maintain about 1.5 points per game from there. It's not impossible, but takes so doing. Honestly, it's doable if we can survive January. A new owner before then, and not losing any key players and there is a real chance of the miracle. I'd say only about 1 in 4, but still...

Posited a while back that the reason the for the sudden 'adjournment' of the appeal was as a result of this threat. Seems my thinking was not as outlandish as some suggested! The EFL really are a collective of mealy-mouthed mofos. To frame this as proof that they are working in the best interests of the club really is beyond the pale.

There exists people who are deeply embarrassed by the existence of the petition. Not only is it petty and misguided , it can’t even get consistently right what the honour is .., a Cbe or an mbe? Or what the honour was for? Business and charity I believe. So if we strip him of his award for business does he get to keep it for charity anyway?
seriously ridiculous and I say the fact it is openly being promoted and defended on this forum is almost as bad.

Well exactly . And his services to many businesses too.

His “business “ at Derby was not a success. But it was loss making when he took over. It’s not as if he was a Philip green taking out  millions in dividends . Actually the opposite. He poured lots of money into The club. Spent it very badly it’s true but it was all his money until COVID and Efl wrecked everything.
sone people need to give their heads a big wobble.

    Hi
Bournemouth supporter here and congratulations on the win yesterday. Should have been a draw but that's not what I came on here for.
In 2008-09 we were on zero points after 19 games - having started on -17. We were also under a transfer embargo, were struggling to pay players and had a  team with several on-league and out-of-contract recruits. For us the rest is History as Eddie Howe stepped up from youth team coach on 1st  January, lost his first 2 games but we stayed up on 46 points.
OK! OK! I know it was League 2, and you don't want a Bournemouth history lesson. My point simply is - it can be done. Your home support may just help -it was pretty impressive yesterday.
    Hope you manage it.
    Good luck.

It's free investment under P&S. Spend £5m on the academy, sell 1 player for 1p and the club is in a better P&S position.
Spend £5m on a player and the club is in a £5m worse P&S position.

From a financial poijt of view, it was right for Birmingham tobmake that decision - they only managed to run at breakeven over the past 20 years thanks to the sale of Bellingham, and the players they currently have hold little value.
Meanwhile, over the past 10 years Derby have also broken even in terms of academy graduates sold and academy investment. However, Derby have a lot of players in the first team with significant value with a production line of Championship quality players (or better) in full motion.

Somebody said earlier this week that we should scrap the academy - I’m not so sure.

My mates lad plays in the academy and said to me recently how well all the staff have handled the situation and it’s as if nothing has happened since we went into administration. That only comes from great leadership.

This may be the worst exaggeration Ive seen on this forum ever.
A mortgage is a gamble that you can afford to take on a debt and repay it from your income. If your income stops with no support from the Government you may struggle to service the loan and you may lose your home. There are warnings to that effect when people take out mortgages , yet still they do it and still some people lose their homes. If they were self employed there may be HMRC debts owing as well.  Were they immoral or just unlucky? Or unwise maybe, at worst? The days when debtors were sent to jail have long gone you know.
In the Rams case, Morris believed that the  income from Derby's loyal fan base was secure, and built his financial plans on that. Call that  a gamble if you like but i would say Derby's ticket income is  probably normally more secure than any salaried income, so less of a gamble to rely on that to cover our costs than to rely on your salary to pay a mortgage.

Yet what happened with the pandemic was unprecedented in history. Revenue of £20 million lost in an 18 month period. And no support from the Governnment despite it being the Government that ordered the closure of stadia. And who is our biggest creditor? A Government agency, HMRC! And who apart from the players and their agents was the biggest beneficary of Morris high spending years? HMRC.

I think if Morris can afford to pay the debts, he should from a moral point of view. Otherwise, HMRC as a Government agency is in no position to play the morality card, and in any case it is clear Derby cannot afford to pay without external help.

As we don't know whether he can or cannot afford to pay the debts, (and never will know as the force majeure appeal was never heard) I am not willing to make any personal attacks on his morality, or signify my "contempt" for him. Especially as according to Gboro "personal attacks" are against forum rules.  In my book calling people immoral when you do not know the facts to support such a claim is a personal attack.
