In fact what am I saying that is one of the greatest intro's ever  !

Mel called out the EFL for agreeing to a crap TV deal - they didn't like that..... Mel questioned whether they were the best people to run the league - they didn't like that either..... Mel thought he was cleverer than the EFL by finding a number of legitimate ways through their poorly thought-through/written 'rules' - they didn't like that at all..... Mel put the club into admin thinking there was a valid case to argue against the 12 points - they hated that as it might have opened the floodgates for other clubs to follow..... Mel left the building - the EFL didn't care because by then the terms Derby County and Mel Morris were interchangeable in their eyes. The EFL did their very best to kill Derby County - they may still have succeeded.....we shall see.

The only good part of this decision is that it seems that we should start next season with a clean slate and be able to operate as a 'normal' club for the first time in many seasons.....

...and don't forget that Morris put us into admin very shortly after the EFL came out with a statement effectively saying there were no timeframes on when the outstanding FFP/accounts issues would be resolved. I suspect that was the final issue that pushed Mel into the admin course of action - a never ending FFP process with no chance of ever selling the club while the EFL played their games.
They've been a bunch of total ossers through this entire process - constantly delaying and dragging out decisions in order to punish the club further - there really needs to be a high-level inquiry into their stewardship of the football league - they're clearly unfit for purpose - but if it's down to self-serving football clubs to shake the tree, it'll never happen....

Only if those figures are correct - various folk on twatter suggesting that those numbers have applied the same loss repeatedly over 3 seasons so the total quoted is far higher than it should be. No idea if that is correct (hopefully one of the accountancy folk on here can clarify....).
