You’d assume the previous two failed attempts were about “finally selling up”.

Wazza’s haircut is.
“But there could be hope on the horizon for Derby with Morris in discussions with a US group who have experience in sport”.
I hope it not croquet, although it may up our tempo.

Improvement on the last couple of jokers then....

Absolutely. Beggars belief that the Alonso bid got any further than an initial phone call, message or email. Perhaps suggests that Mr Morris is almost totally disengaged with DCFC at this point? Or does he rely on (bad) advisors?

Yes, right, I think that was it. Perhaps Mr Morris had a point there, but our relationship with the EFL has significantly deteriorated. What have we gained from it?? Again if my memory serves me correctly, previously, Tom Glick was on more cordial terms with the EFL.

When fans of other clubs on the Internet are more capable of doing due diligence than our own club its frankly embarrassing for whoever at DCFC let this get so far.

Fair points. As your post suggests, there isn't really a lot that Mr Morris can say. Anyone hoping that he will make a statement saying "don't worry Rams fans, things aren't great, but all will be OK" are, at best rather hopeful, at worst deluded.

It’ll be a cunning plan..... take a £5m non refundable deposit from every would be buyer. 2 down 10 to go and we’ll be debt free (disclaimer, I have no idea what the value of debt is)

He nearly sold to the Arabs

But all he offered was manure

Let's hope the powers that be are a bit more switched on now.
To have your pants pulled down publicly once is unfortunate, twice is just incompetence.

I just don’t understand why Mel just doesn’t appoint a board and go and chill in the sunshine somewhere. The plan must be to work self sufficiently. Appoint people to operate with austerity, as there’s no other way!

Exactly. A simple request that the guy deposits a significant amount, as proof of funds into a UK bank account. If Mr Morris didn't make a similar request to the Fake Sheikh and Alonso at the outset, he couldn't have been very confident of their proclaimed disposable wealth.

Nothing is irreparable if and when there are people willing to repair it. I feel like I’ve experienced this kind of DCFC turmoil three or four times already, and each time has had joyous moments, iconic players, legendary managers and an existing DCFC following it.
I don’t say this patronisingly, but you’re quite young. If you asked around, @Eddie for example, or @ossieram, they’ll tell you that these things are almost synonymous with Derby if you were around and conscious in the 70s and 80s! The only difference is that everything is played out in the public domain nowadays and you youngsters are suckers for believing everything you read.

I genuinely can't see how MM could do another press conference or interview again given the level of (assumed) embarrassment he must have for the chancers he has engaged with. Fair play if he did but I wouldn't be surprised if we never hear from him publicly again after this charade. Always more of a spotlight on characters like MM who court the attention when things are going well, doing TalkSport interviews and whatever else, and then when it goes south people note the contrast moreso than those who keep a low profile at all times. You can bring these things on yourself unfortunately. I must admit the biggest question mark for me over Mel's tenure is actually how he managed to acquire his wealth in the first place.

Thanks, I agree he's probably looked at Mel & BZI/Alonso & thought there's nothing especially impressive there & that he could do better, both from a brand development perspective & strategic development of the playing side. Yes, he'd need specialists to help him particularly on the commercial side but he could articulate the overall vision particularly having spent so much of his career at Man Utd (a very well run commercial operation)
I've been confused by his patience in press conferences when takeover talk has been relentlessly brought up & he made very light of the unpaid wage situation in Jan/Feb. He is adamant he's not leaving but having kept us up, I thought that would have been ideal timing to move to a more sane club with his media pals talking up the job he did here. It all doesn't make sense looking through the prism of someone merely wanting to rise up the managerial ladder asap.
