Perhaps surprising for a club that has effectively been relegated as early as November, but I sense a really positive shift in the mood of supporters since the news of the additional points deduction broke this morning.
Fans are already starting to look forward to a new set of away grounds next season, they're discussing which youngsters may break into the side and establish themselves. I've even seen a couple of posters say they may start going to matches more often.
People are starting to look forward again....
Forward to a time when it's the football on the pitch that matters. That's why we support the club. That's what we want to think about, talk about, dare to dream about.
We still need an owner to take over the club - that's crucial, of course. But I believe it's all starting to look a lot brighter. We're leaving the crappy stuff behind and returning to being a football club.
    COYR ?

Exactly. I couldn't stomach listening to the interview he did with Dawes on Radio Derby. If you've put your (beloved?) local football club into administration for the vultures to scrap over.... really, what is there to be said??

Mel called out the EFL for agreeing to a crap TV deal - they didn't like that..... Mel questioned whether they were the best people to run the league - they didn't like that either..... Mel thought he was cleverer than the EFL by finding a number of legitimate ways through their poorly thought-through/written 'rules' - they didn't like that at all..... Mel put the club into admin thinking there was a valid case to argue against the 12 points - they hated that as it might have opened the floodgates for other clubs to follow..... Mel left the building - the EFL didn't care because by then the terms Derby County and Mel Morris were interchangeable in their eyes. The EFL did their very best to kill Derby County - they may still have succeeded.....we shall see.

Whether we did, or whether we didn't, is actually irrelevant. What we did do (or rather what he did do) was run a club beyond it's means, write cheques we literally couldn't cash and own the club with a level of irresponsibility that will ultimately mean that many suppliers, employees and fans are financially impacted by it.
Stop this drivel about points, amortisation and who was wrong done to and start looking at the fact we are in administration and many other local suppliers will suffer as a result.

There's only one person to blame for all of this, one..
He's lied to us, conned us and left us high and dry.
The EFL are applying rules that are in place for every single club.
We've lost more than we should.
Morris tried to flount the rules, failed and left us.
Putting us in administration was the final nail.
But if you wanna sing F the EFL for applying punishments to us for breaking rules that we knew were there and knew what the punishment would be then go ahead.

    I very much doubt it.
There’s nothing he can say or do to put things right (apart from write off any loans and gift the stadium back. As if either of those are going to happen) and if he tries to defend himself he’s only likely to make himself even less popular unless he has some bombshell revelation.
It’s probably better for all concerned (the club, the fans and Mel himself) if he keeps a low profile and we all move on rather than keep reminding ourselves (and him) that he was primarily responsible.
I don’t really want to hear from him, I just want him to do the best he can for the club in terms of the stadium.

Must admit I wouldn't be unhappy about no international breaks. Waste of time in any case, as they were essentially brought in to increase the prospect of England winning a trophy. They've still won sweet F A since 1966.

    1. An ethical owner with enough financial resources to enable the club to operate without cooking the books.
    2. A manager and coaching staff with the right credentials ensure that the team is competitive in L1.
    3. The club to somehow regain ownership of PP. This is crucial.

It has been earned? Based on what metric?
1 win in 15 to end last season? Surviving by the skin of our teeth and a late Cardiff intervention? This season, you say? No wins in 7? 3 wins in 17? 20th without deductions?
It is hardly a convincing case. It would be a charitable decision and incredibly sentimental.
Indeed I think there is an element of rose tinted glasses on your part. As I recall, you were fervently pro Rooney from the day he arrived.
Less risk sticking with an inexperienced manager over appointing a more experienced manager? I would say there are pros and cons to both decisions, but logic and evidence suggests going for experience unless Rooney shows great promise, which he hasn’t as yet.
Given the make up of the squad could be drastically different in six or seven months’ time - only 8 players are currently contracted past 2022 - it makes no sense to be wedded to the idea of Rooney being manager or indeed this group of players assembled under Rooney.
Rooney has done some good, we can all agree there. But there are often times when his lack of experience shines through and I think he would have to show much more as a manager for the new owners to stake the club’s future on him.
If we do end up in League One next summer, it would be much more prudent to have a complete reset and let the club be viewed with fresh eyes, both on and off the pitch.

Not easy when the Chairman doesn't talk to you. I'm not a Rooney worshiper, but he was being honest. Mr Morris has come across as being insincere. A fair observation in my opinion.
