Mathematically possible, but based on recent performances and results, we are now in footballing miracles territory.

Surely the only reason to delay would be to see what division we’re in… we’ll that’s been settled tonight. Sorry, but I’m feeling very down about it all at the minute.
Cheers everyone for all the fannying around. 3 new players in January and we’d probably be 3 points clear of the drop by now

The errors are magnified due to the predicament we are in. If we were safely mid table with no fear of relegation or reaching the play offs, they wouldn’t rankle as much. Even so, a blatant penalty has to be seen by a professional referee, whatever the game and whoever the team.

The first goal v Barnsley was a marginal decision in our favour and despite seeing the goal a hundred times I cannot tell whether Plange was offside or not. In that game , Barnsley should have had a player sent off early on so I think on balance Barnsley had the better of the ref decisions last week... as they did again this week.

The Bielik goal v Brum was offside in the build up. But there was also a peno not given to us  , so again that made it quits on the day.

And er .. that's it. I cannot think of any other major decisions that have gone our way. All season. And dozens that have gone against us.
But we are also pretty poo when we play away from home and that doesn't help either.

It was a penalty and it was a poor decision today.
But I think we as fans often ignore the decisions that go our way and remember the ones that don't.
Plange was offside vs Barnsley for the wonderfully worked goal, and there was also an offside in the build up to the equaliser vs Birmingham.
Now both games may well have ended up going our way anyway (dominating vs Barnsley prior to that decision) but you never know.  There have been plenty of occasions decisions have gone for and against us.  It's just human nature to remember the one's against more so.

I don't want Rooney talking too much about it personally.  His accusation against officiating after the Cardiff game was embarrassing.  More maturity and professionalism required in those elements - not to take away from the unbelievable job he is doing.

I actually think it is Mel and Quantuma that should have done their deal sooner.
Ashley clearly had a bid on the table, but if rumours are to be believed, the sticking point is that Mel and Quantuma aren't liking what they will be getting out the deal.

Yes, I eluded to this in another post. Keeping Jagielka and Shinney, with one or two additions, we would most certainly be outside the relegation zone.

My assessment is that Ashley is only interested if we remain a Championship club. He wants us because he wants the glamour of owning a Premier League club, but if we're relegated it becomes too difficult a task and is certainly not worth his money of paying off the creditors to a sufficient degree not to get a 15 point penalty in League One. He can take it or leave it and would just walk away. There'll be other opportunities in the future. And, of course, he will already be looking south at Chelsea and wondering if there's a deal to be done.
If we go down (as has to be very likely) I think the only (and therefore preferred) bidder will be the Appleby consortium, but they haven't got the money so they would (hopefully) step in to keep the club alive, but have to take the 15 point hit. Meaning we may well go straight down into League Two the following season.
This is entirely speculation on my part. If true, then for the future of the club we need to perform on the pitch through to the end of May. Everything feels on a knife edge but we're a far more attractive option as a Championship club, given the amount of money involved.

It seems fairly obvious to me that Morris’s original plan was to buy the club, splash a bit of cash to get us promoted and then sell us on for a profit. With maybe a bit of pride in owning his local football club etc etc. Obviously that didn’t happen, things have spiralled out of control and he’s tried to cut his losses. (That’s not a defence or anything, just a statement of the facts.)
So with that in mind, what’s the incentive for Morris to want the club back? Getting the club back to the stage where it can be sold for a profit is probably a long and expensive job. It makes zero sense for a Morris to want/expect anything other than getting enough for the stadium to cover his remaining liabilities.

Yes I do believe we can probably beat any team in this league. Stringing 3 or 4 wins together is another question entirely.

The thing with talented players is that other players aren’t always on their wavelength.
Rav often has the ball in advanced areas and is looking for a player to provide an angle.
If he doesn’t see one, he will pass sideways or backwards to retain possession. Cue groans from the fans, who from their lofty position in the stands and through their beer goggles, don’t always appreciate that ‘obvious’ passes are blocked by waiting defenders.
Lawrence’s return gives him a reliable ally. I hope they thrive together.

Yes a bit of a dilemma: if we are destined to fail,  is it better to be respectfully relegated with few games to go, or suffer the absolute torture of it going to the wire but falling short in the final game?
