I did too, but things change. I loved my first car a 8 year old mini 850, lots of memories of what went on in it and where we went in that car.
Would I want to still be driving it, clouding those memories with more recent ones like lack of comfort, unreliability, no power etc  Absolutely NOT.

I did the BBG tour before they knocked it down, actually parked where the front room would have been in my digs on Shaftesbury Crescent. The BBG was (even allowing for the lack of maintenance) a dump. Changing rooms and showers worse than you imagine, Behind scenes facilities abysmal, stands cramped and would have had to be totally rebuilt to meet modern safety standards, even in those days. inevitably that would have led to "spread outward" not upward so the atmosphere would have anyway.
Parking would be impossible so crowds would have shrunk to "fanatics" only. Investment/ownership would have faded away. Moving had to happen and PP is pretty accessible, comfortable and bits of the roof don't fall you like happened several times at the Normanton end.

Totally ignoring all names, genders, race which is why I've taken this out of the player threads
Any young player playing at this level is bound to have off days, and may appear to have an attitude problem. I think in many cases its  not a bad attitude its simply not quite knowing what to do and being flat footed. In our squad we range from vastly experienced players with all that knowledge of hundreds of games to draw on, down to youngsters with mere handfuls of games. Call it "Rabbit caught in the headlights" syndrome. This won't be helped by team and play style changes.
Rooney is part of the perception issue. He always seems to know what to do with the ball even before he gets it. His thought process is way ahead. Less experienced players just do not see things that quickly, do not have the "telepathy" to direct their movement. The contrast with Rooney is immense and they look worse than they are.
But here's the thing: Rooney is talking non stop to our players and yet I've not seen him get in any players face and berate them which I'm sure he would if he perceived lack of effort.
PS I seem to remember when a raw Tom Huddlestone broke in the team he was described as lazy. A languid style with long legs, no future for a player like that!

I listen to radio Derby every match - even while I’m watching at PP. Have done for a long time.
in my humble opinion there are 2 issues:
    1. CR made a completely unacceptable comment & has rightly paid the price. Well done to Max & Bogle for standing up to it.
    2. The radio Derby match programme has become increasingly unprofessional from both CR & ED. I didn’t hear the podcast but I did hear ED make the ‘arsed’ comment. If I want to hear words like that I can just take my ear phones out. It’s definitely time for changes. I’d rather there were a small team of ‘pundits’ rather than just the one so it doesn’t get too cosy. Having said that Eric Steele is fabulous & ED definitely doesn’t talk to him in the way he did to CR.

at twenty to thirty if a man lives right
It's once in the morning and twice every night.
From thirty to forty if he still lives right
He misses a morning and sometimes a night
From forty to fifty it's just now and then
And when he's past fifty it's heaven knows when
When he gets past sixty he might feel inclined
But don't let him kid you, it's all in his mind
It used to be embarrassing to make the thing behave
'cause every single morning it would stand and watch him shave
But now that he is older it just gives him the blues
Cos all it does is hang there and watch him shine his shoes
It doesn't shine so bright now, the pilot light's gone out,
What used to be his sex appeal is now his water spout.

Amazing what gets passed down the generations isn't it?

For each and every morning, it would stand and watch me shave
Now as old age approache,s it sure gives me the blues,
to see it hang its little head and watch tie my shoes!

Mind you as she fainted at my feet and I helped her out I missed much of the match which we won 2-0. Man U were a top top side then.

I think your allegory is not far off how the EU works:
We send a pound, they send a few pence back with instructions on how to spend it. The rest they spend on figuring out how to limit what they give us back and watching that we don't break their rules. Of course they actually spend way more than that but hide the true cost somewhere where the accountants can't find it.
