First half we wasnt great, got in a few times but the final ball let us down. We got their left back booked but then didnt go anywhere near him for the rest of the 1st half. McGoldrick actually looked quite rusty at first but the goal seemed to get him back into his stride.
I dont think the goal will have changed Warnes message at half time. He clearly asked them to play with more energy & pace, something he confirmed im his post match interview. I dont think ive seen a Derby team literally run all over a team like we did 2nd half today.
Could have quite easily been 8 or 9, their GK made a few decent saves, White was unlucky on 2 occasions & Dobbin fully deserved to get a goal.
A nice touch by Collins to give McGoldrick the pen for the hattrick, then for the favour to be returned. Hopefully that goal gives Collins some confidence going into the back end of the season.
8 points off top 2 with a favourable & very winnable game in hand. Rightly or wrongly I look at it as 5 points behind, very achievable to close that gap.

Well, on paper, I was right!
Bigger than I dared predict though, coward me!
...And not as big as it could/should have been been!
I know we football fans are susceptable to exaggeration, but 7/8 wouldn'y have flattered us, and even double figures wouldn't have needed too much of a stretch.
We annhialated 'em.  And I thoroughly enjoyed every minute... including staying back to applaud them all off.  Thoroughly deserved.
Onwards.  Upwards.  And At 'em!  ? 

Just got home. I thought the first half was pretty even and Morecambe played well enough, but the timing of the goals was crucial. We just blew them away second half. Very, very impressive.
Didzy, Dobs and Knight were outstanding and I was so pleased for Collins to get his goal. White looked very neat and tidy when he came on as well.
This really does feel special and these players must be enjoying it. Quite a few could have joined Championship teams, but I bet they’re delighted they’re at Derby.

What do you say other than it was an absolutely fabulous performance with everyone contributing. Could have been double figures, but their keeper made some very good saves.
Standouts we’re McG (obviously), Knight and Dobbin, everyone else a 7 out of 10 or even better. The work rate when 5 up was so impressive 
Glad Collins got a goal, should do his confidence good.

David McGoldrick - what a hero and what a signing!! Well done to everyone there today, fans and players. But especially for our league one Guardiola!!!  How amazing it felt to see thunderbird 5 today. COYR ???!! What a match and what a score. It's looking really good for the play offs but there are still many matches to come. Let's enjoy today and remember where we were this time last year. How I love this club.

Man was just mentioned Wycombe next weekend, I f****** hope we f****** continue this form and smash the f*** out of Wycombe. Because it's f****** Wycombe, I feel my language is justified, apologies if anyone is offended (unless you are a Wycombe fan)

Missing the match as in Devon for a week so my old man went to his first Derby game for 40 years !!

"I played youth football against your manager. He was, quite literally, leagues ahead of everyone on the park...even at 15/16. Luckily, he was in the middle and I was out on the wing so managed to avoid him most times! He is a top bloke."
I love Warne's interviews, talking about the joy of playing and hating the first few minutes of games because of wishing he was still out there. Looked him up and he played nearly 500 games, which is no mean feat. Seems to have a real love of the game.

Re: Dobbin. People have to be realistic (I know - ridiculous). If he were some kind of superstar wonder kid and/or ‘the finished article’ he wouldn’t have been sent to League 1. What he lacks in finishing he more than makes up for in overall contribution.  He’s doing well. He’s developing. Give the kid a break (I know, another ridiculous comment).

It’s been driving me nuts for weeks/months! Yes, his finishing is poor at times undoubtedly, but he works hard for the team and has attributes that help us. He’s contributed goals and assists in the team and has missed chances too, same as Barkhuizen, Mendez-Laing, Collins, McGoldrick, Hourihane etc etc yet he gets unfairly slated by people in my view. 

What Dobbin lacks in finishing ability he makes up for with sheer bloody mindedness of not letting a mistake get you down and persisting with the effort

Subpar most of the evening, but find the character to pull that out of the bag. That's what separates between good teams and great teams.
This season has a very good feeling about it...

Not sure he fits Warne’s style of play but does McGoldrick, our top goal scorer?
Might see why people want a different type of option but he’s got the technical skills to be excellent at this level, great target man to feet and can finish.
Is that not just what Didzy does? Except Martin’s a bit stronger, more of a target man.

We are in a very limited market, so if Warne is happy with a player coming in then I am happy.
There are pros & cons to every signing. Yes Martin isnt the most mobile but he never has been, but like McGoldrick his brain is his quickest featyre and at this level McGoldrick has shown how much of a difference that can make. Surround him with runners like Knight & Martin will get a fair few goals & assists before the end of the season.
Personally, I was a huge fan of Martin when he was here & if he comes back il fully support him again.
I do think someone like Wickham would be a better choice though.

I know everyone focuses on McClaren-era Martin, but that resurgence under Cocu was glorious too. That was a fun few months.

? It's how quickly a player thinks as much as how quickly they move. Such an intelligent footballer.
Edit: but I don't think he's coming home. ?

I think Fozzy is better in the middle than he is at left back. Him and Cash are a good partnership, Cash goes to win the ball and Fozzy sweeps up behind him.
Fozzy's been like Beckenbauer the last few weeks.
