They would probably be better off not breaking their silence until they’ve got something worth breaking their silence over. At this point I’ll stop breaking my silence. ?

Sounds like you are as big an Orwell fans as me @RadioactiveWaste. Have you ever stayed at Barnhill? I love all of his work...Shooting an Elephant is brilliant; as is The Road to Wigan Pier. His early stuff is okay (Keep the Aspidistra etc) but I like how his whole outlook was very much tied in to his early-life experiences...

I think a bit of engagement with other supporters is a good thing. It gives an opportunity to get different opinions and ideas.
Also I think some people don’t want the Rams Trust to represent them as a voice for the supporters. I believe it would be stronger as one rather than having several different set ups but as in a democratic society (if we’re in one????) Then it is important to have different views from other groups that people feel more comfortable in or have been part of for a long time.
I didn’t know @angieramwas giving updates about what is happening with the Rams Trust but I believe it would be good if people were kept informed of things because I think half the problem is people are unaware of what is discussed or what is proposed.
I have heard Jim on the radio and that is good to get the messages out.
    Good Luck

Mel Morris pointed out some time ago the unfairness of the Parachute Payment system asking how was it fair and equitable for a club to be promoted, stay up for no more than a season, and yet be guaranteed payments of c.£200M that would give them massive leverage over the rest of the Championship after relegation. He also criticised the EFL over the supine way they accepted the PL's TV rights carve-up.
He made his own mistakes, big ones, in the way he sought to level the playing field, but I'm sure his biggest mistake was to first make an enemy of the EFL, and then, for a time,  make them look incompetent. People with big egos don't like to be made to look foolish.

What the EFL are saying and what the EFL have done to Derby over the last two years are very different things.
They are allowing two member clubs to go after us with petulant legal action despite us being in administration.
They have hammered us with punitive embargoes and restrictions for more than a full season now despite us being found guilty of nothing so far that warrants anything more than a fine
They dragged out a farcical disciplinary process that should have taken less than 12 months out for an absolute eternity at the behest of another clubs owner that had thrown a strop.
None of those things tell me that they have any interest in helping Derby be sustainable in any way. Quite the opposite, I'd suggest that a significant contributing factor to our current position is their absolute incompetence.

Actions speak louder than words and the EFL have shown in recent years that they don't give a damn if club goes under.

Maybe the EFL should focus on creating a level playing field Championship..not a stacked love-in for parachute payments clubs..

Jim asked in the opening post for views on the Trust and things they might do better..plenty of views expressed so far I guess..
I would like to ask Jim how long has he been Chair and Elaine Dean Vice-Chair?
Would it be a good idea to limit the number of times Board members can stay in situ? Say 2 or 3 years maybe?
That would be more democratic and would ensure fresh ideas would always be flowing through the Trust.
Second one, as its pretty impossible to get all fan groups into one organisation do you have regular official meetings with other Derby fan groups to agree on ways you can work together? (This might already be in place but not aware hence the question).

    There lays the problem Jim.
You are a voice for your members, I have never seen an open Membership for the RAMS trust it seems a very closed door. A MOD from here can control the unruly members and sift the rubbish questions. I think through the media in that situation the RAMS trust voice seemed very distant from us the Fans and felt kind of alienating. I don't know the answer to that but I think most Fans felt we didn't know how bad things were with the club or even that we had a voice or a bunch of yes men...
I'm sure it must be hard to be able to reach everyone but maybe a live stream from the meetings or at least knowing who we can ask when something like the NDA's happen again.
I hope that nothing like this happens again but even for the purpose of the forum maybe to point us in the right direction to be able to read the notes or see the fielded questions and answers to the RAMS trust questions may help in future. I understand you was under NDA last meeting but previous and the next meetings being posted by RAMS trust to keep us informed?
    Kind regards

One of our MODs has recently joined the Rans Trust. I won't say who as it is up to them, not sure if they would want to be as as the 'DCFC Fans Rep' on RamsTrust.
Even if we as posters may individually have doubts about/issues with RamsTrust, i hope we can engage with Jim and RT in terms of moving forward rather than settling scores.
If people don't like the way RamsTrust is being run or that it doesn't represent them, they could try joining instead of mardying from the sidelines. That isn't aimed at anyone, just a general thought.
