I still have the PM he sent me inviting me to chat with him if I needed to when my mother passed away. This news has upset me nearly as much as that sad day two years ago.

If he had game changing talent on a consistent basis it would have been evident by now. I Don’t buy the arguments. No doubt at all he is a useful player and has done some good things. I am more than happy when he’s in our team but I don’t lean forward in my seat and go “great, Sibs is in, light the blue touch paper.” .. He’s a good lad, a good player but golden child, misused genius  ? Nope !

I totally agree with you. Which goes along with my point that we only had the pick of the rest due to the so called constraints we are or were under. So does PW need a full unlimited unrestricted window to buy the players he wants/needs.  Surely only thrn can we judge him.

I think the fact they can spend more money on one player in a season that could buy our team and stadium in a one suggests the difference between the dominance you expect and reality  Derby are a big club that have been through turmoil. Currently a band of misfits in my eyes, a band of mercenaries that have been poached, freebies and potentials.
They have been bought together in the hope that they can be gelled into a winning team.
You argue that the rest of the league are awful, but the difference is they have been pretty much together as teams for a while with the odd addition, they know the league. They play tough (not pretty football). Most rely on sitting as a back 11 then hitting on the break. They are hard to break down.
People who think this league is a walk over, are deluding them selves.

What were your thoughts on Cocu?
The reason I ask is because he was a massive proponent of youth progression, and yet I don't remember that affording him all that much leniency. That cup game against Forest where Cocu played as many youngsters as he could, he got absolutely slated by a lot afterwards for his selection. So I don't instantly buy the idea that if we'd played the youth and lost by the same score, the people criticising Warne would be any more lenient towards him, because I've seen historically this isn't necessarily the case.
Bradley was practically our marquee summer signing and needs minutes for his match fitness. I can understand the logic behind giving him that before the international break. There's also been times under Warne where ''giving players who weren't playing well, more time to continue'' has actually worked when the system has been tweaked.
I actually agree, it would have been good to see Weston play, but if we're playing whataboutism- what if he was entirely anonymous, could barely get a sniff, to the point it damaged his confidence? Surely that'd be bad management to introduce him to a game if this were to happen? Throwing youngsters into random games isn't automatically good for their development. I don't know either way, I just struggle making sweeping statements about internal circumstances I know very little about.

We moan because our team is inconsistent. My mate supports Cheltenham and they’re consistently rubbish.
We have it lucky compared to some.
Not long ago we were praying for a club of any standard.
My dream is a fanbase that’s more respectful of each other and other clubs.
It’s of an atmosphere of celebration each week that we have a club we love.
In my dream, Derby’s players are desperate to play for their manager and the rams badge.
    I hope it comes true.

I don't particularly care where he scores them from or against who. I am impressed that he was between the posts to score the two tap ins and the brilliant headed goal. I will be delighted if he ends up with 18-20 let alone 25.

The service Collins gets is crap though and he spends most the game chasing nothing balls and closing down passes. He could do more with some chances but if he was that clinical he wouldn't be in league one. Telegraphed crosses that centre backs can read all day isn't going to cut it for him to get a big tally.

I very rarely comment on here. I very rarely view here in fact, I don’t know why… perhaps it can be just a little depressing here at times. Maybe I’m too much Mr. Grumpy. But I saw the news on Twitter on Sunday and immediately looked for this thread. And reading all the tributes really made cry, because whether we posted here 10 times per day, or 10 times per decade, we still all knew of B4. I wasn’t even going to comment, but gosh, sometimes a person you didn’t even know really gets to you. Sometimes you just see the person you wish you could be, and I know that B4 was the first to commiserate when any other forum member had a loss, so I just wanted to join the chorus of forum members in thanking B4 for his wonderful contributions, his passion, his positivity, and his brilliant outlook on life. He has contributed to DCFC life in a way that few of us fans ever will. B4, you will be sorely missed by many many people. Rest well.

Kind of a lose-lose though- he fields a strong team, as he did, and if we lose there's cries of ''where's the youth?''; alternatively, he fields a team of youngsters and if they get slaughtered he'd be called out for not protecting them enough. Would people really be happier if we played some kids but conceded an extra 2/3 goals as a result?
It's only the cup, we can take learnings from it, and i'm glad such a lethargic performance wasn't in the league. Really isn't the end of the world.

I think the result on Saturday actually suggests he got that one correct. Had he played Weston and we lost, you would be the first one to complain he played a youngster in an important league game.

Tonight is on the players. The team was comfortably good enough to win tonight, and the tactics and set up won't be radically different from the weekend. The difference is application by individuals. They need to look at themselves in the mirror.

    Tuesday 14th November

Top Goalscorer - Courtney Baker - Richardson  8 Goals

So after an impressive display and deserved win against Barnsley we move on to our FA Cup 1st Round Replay at Home to Crewe Alexandra
The first game at the Mornflake stadium last week was a game we really should've won with how much we dominated the game and after going 0-2 down showed good character to keep going and get a deserved late equaliser to take us into this game on Tuesday under the lights at PP
Crewe have since beaten one of the top sides in L2 in Notts County with a late winner, a penalty in 90+8 minutes from Courtney Baker-Richardson who has now become there top goalscorer this season after scoring the winner.
This will certainly not be a walkover and think we really need to be right at it and get off to a good start and if we play like we have of recent I'm confident we will see our way through into round 2 but Derby as we know have a habit of making things hard for themselves sometimes
Onto Team selection and PW will be buoyed by the recent results at PP scoring 7 and conceding 0 in the last 2 and think maybe the only changes may be due to injuries as Nyambe and NML  who looked to have taken slight knocks.
I suspect a strong nearly un-changed line up for this one and a victory will be a great way to go into the break at a time where we would probably prefer to continue but it will give us a chance to get a few fit Waggy, maybe Ward and Washington ?
I will see you all again after the International break

    p.s
After the devastating news from @angieram regarding Daniel aka B4 which has clearly shocked and affected  so many I would like to ask this of fellow Rams fans at the game on Tuesday and for the long season ahead please and I  sincerely hope this doesn't offend his family in any way.
If at any time during the match when his and our beloved Rams are playing , should a player make a mistake , a stray pass, miss an easy chance etc etc , before any of us think to berate or aim criticism at a player , maybe pause for a second think about B4 and then encourage and cheer on that player with the same enthusiasm  that Daniel would've done, as I'm sure he would love that...Once a Ram always a Ram !
