  1. Rotherham will not beat Cardiff. They will get no favours and Harry Wilson is bang in form.

The team that survives will be playing at Pride Park on Saturday. Which one...I couldn’t tell you, but I also don’t think we’re going to lose 7 in a row.

Yes. He's been studying to be a Technical Director which is where he sees his future career. Plus Mel's already sacked him twice I bet he fancied a third time!

Know all that but he still wouldn’t have turned the job down, if he really had a problem with Mel he wouldn’t have got back involved, And I’m sure he would’ve stepped in until the end of the season to save us had Mel sacked Rooney.

Anyway the point is there are many better options than Rooney, one of whom is still within the club, which makes it even more ridiculous we’re continuing with Rooney who is clearly way out of his depth.

    How do you know this?

I don’t , but do you really think he wouldn’t have wanted the job had we offered it him? And he’s a more than half decent manager and would have been a better appointment than Rooney. But then there are many managers as highlighted by @86 Hair Islands that would’ve been better than Rooney.

Name me a half-decent manager that would have come here, other than Cocu. ?

@GboroRam who do you think might have come here then - people wanted Hughton but he struggled at F*rest. Oh yeah Rafa he was coming... I think we would have ended up with a cheap version of Allardyce! Edit: Warnock would have struggled without any big strikers here surely? (I've previously been in favour of him 'doing a job' for us and then changing things, but that wasn't popular!)

    Steve McClaren did come here!!

Mate I hear what your saying but I think it’s more than just bad luck

look at the goals we conceded against brum... look at the first goal today

Look at the first goal against Blackburn .. that ain’t luck .. that’s a recurring theme

when balls go into our box we’re left wanting ... that’s why we are where we are

I can tell u now next week unless we do a Preston and roll over we will play ok, have a fair share of the ball ... we may even score but u know the moment the ball starts going into out box it’s a flip of a coin as to whever it ends up in our net or not

Not disputing any of that or saying bad luck is the reason we’re in this position (we’ve lost 6 in a row FFS!) just saying they are equally poo right now and equally capable of bottling it.

No one is hopeful but it’s not fait accompli

    Well here we are

in my eyes we are down

just been to the pub with a notts county mate who’s equally brassed off with football to drown our sorrows

As I think many expected but hoped for better myself Included thought Rooney was the appointment with more seasoned hands being the ord

His effort is isn’t In question is quality like most of our attacking players is

that said today ... I thought offensively we were ok .... ish .. defensively yet again we were absolutely shambolic

that first goal today was truly playground stuff a free header to cut it back again i our 6 yard box

    were shocking

Wednesday will beat us , I can Guarantee u now ... we will play ok like today but we will at some stage of the game allow crosses i the box ... game over

see u All In league one:(

Understand why you say this and I think most agree but, if you watched them today they have all the same problems we do. They were seriously lucky not to lose. That’s the only difference between the two teams at the moment. Luck. We seem to be being punished for every error we make.

All likelihood is we will only need a draw next week so we absolutely have a chance. It is nowhere near done, despite how it feels right now or whether you have any belief in this squad and staff they are capable of getting another point.

  7. To stay up Wycombe would need to win something like 12-0 to overcome Wednesday beating Derby. Fair play to them taking it to the last game though.

Well today means 43 points will not be enough for us which I think we all knew anyway. If we had held on for a point today I think that would’ve been enough. A draw against Wednesday will be enough as I don’t see Rotherham getting 4 points from their last two games.

The bookies will have us as favourites to stay up. We don’t even need to win next week. But no one has any faith this team Can do what is necessary.

What will be will be. But Rooney will keep his job if we survive...........

  8. FFS!! We are not getting a points deduction.

Anyone who says we are is just a blind pessimist who is ignoring what many have said in the media, that at worst we’ll probably get a fine, and choosing to believe the Mail who have been wrong about everything to do with this so far.

duck me can we get some form back and have a good season next year because the lunatic pessimists are running the asylum

  9. I watched the game. Fair play to Rotherham. Lots of heart, passion and commitment. Their fans can be proud of them, it’s their lack of quality letting them down.

But Brentford could have won that by 3 or 4 tonight. They missed some great chances. Rotherham had 1 good chance in the first half and i thought they had a great chance at the end but just seen it again, half chance at best. They huffed and puffed but didn’t really look like scoring despite their intent.

We have yet another chance to bury it this weekend against a potentially weakened Swansea. I think we need to as I fear we’ll not have the nerve to deal with needing to win on the last day.

If we win on Saturday - we WILL stay up. it’s in our hands again!!

    COYR!!

Pretty much exactly what I feared RE the EFL fit and proper test. Seemed to be taking much longer than I’d expect ( think even Sheikh Khaled was cleared in a day and he didn’t have a penny!) so something is clearly up. I suspected that Alonso was being coy about his potential backers because there might be something dodgy about them, and it seems that is indeed what the EFL are investigating. Given it’s gone on this long, I’m starting to think they’re actually going to turn him down, which is almost unprecedented for the “fit and proper” test! Probably good news as I wouldn’t feel this club is in safe hands with a man associated with Matt Southall, but equally it’s not in safe hands with Mel. He’ll sell to any charlatan who makes an offer, so God knows who the next bid will be accepted from!

Trevor Birch has joined the EFL since then and is overseeing the process. He wouldn’t have been involved with the Khaled bid.  Hence it will be much more thorough than ever before which is what we want surely?

  11. There is absolutely nothing in that Natalie Jackson interview.

We’re on the verge of relegation to league 1 and have many players out of contract, bills still to pay and we are losing money hand over fist. Of course we’re in the poo, we have no income because we are still in a ducking pandemic!! There are many other clubs in the poo financially it’s just not in the press.

None of this means we’re going to lose our club or we’re going to go into administration. Only way that will happen is if Mel has ran out of money. It would make no sense to liquidate and as someone who genuinely cares for the club he wouldn’t do it unless he had absolutely no choice.

I also notice everyone some are adamantly speculating we’re going to get a points deduction now when for months the consensus has been it will be a fine worst case.

We have a massive threat of relegation yes, but it seems the gloom of this is leading people to speculate our Armageddon is just around the corner when there is nothing other than a random tweet from Collymore which he’s now deleted, a news report from natalie Jackson that says nothing, and stories about the EFL questioning Alonso’s money - which they should be doing as part of following due process to ensure the takeover is above board.

The only genuine known concern facing the club is whether or not we will be in the championship next season.

  12. It looks like at the moment we will finish on 43 points. If we stay up on that it will be pure luck. We will not deserve to stay up.

Been out with a Forest fan and a Spurs fan today and they’re taking the piss at me saying today was our biggest game and our recent history depends on it. We’ve lost but so has everyone else. We’re closer to the end of the season and our chances of being relegated are reducing.

I wish I was a neutral in this situation. As im not I fear the worst.

  13. I’ve not seen any of the game today other than when I turned on my sky go app I saw both Brum goals. If there is someone to blame it’s probably me.

But I saw the team line up and could see Rooney went super cautious, we took the lead and went even more cautious and couldn’t defend it out.

Was this performance a million miles different to Preston?!

We will not get another point with Rooney in charge. We have to hope Rotherham lose 3 of their last 4 and Wednesday lose next weekend. If it goes to the last day with Wednesday we’ll go down.
