    Ridiculous and concerning.
(unless it is a mutual decision which if he is staying it might be but really bizarre)

Warne also seems like a bit of an accident waiting to happen.
Zero goodwill with Derby fans, only ever had one job where he seems to be good in one league and very limited in the league above. Style of play always struck me as quite Rowett-y and probably more suited to a smaller underdog style club.

I think gender and pronouns is a really difficult subject as it’s very hard to understand and empathise with because the vast majority of people will simply never go through the same thing. But I don’t think it is a huge ask to change what one calls someone else if it is going to make them even 1% more comfortable in their own skin, especially at a school where the teacher has a duty of care to the student (although my point is more general than that).
Of course the teacher is going to slip up on occasion, they aren’t going to get it right every time as it goes against pretty much every instinct. But to do so deliberately just seems very cruel and damaging and I struggle to imagine it is truly in the name of religion. I didn’t really listen too much in Religion lessons at school but I certainly don’t remember any teachings about transphobia, I do however remember them about tolerance and respect.
I think there is a fine line between tolerating everybody’s views and tolerating someone’s intolerance and I would like to understand why someone “disagrees on principle” with making someone feel more comfortable about themselves. I doubt we’d accept homophobic or racist slurs used and I don’t think transphobia should be any different.

nottingram got a reaction from Ted McMinn Football Genius in Derby V Wycombe Player Ratings
Wildsmith 7.5 - good saves, good handling. Mixed kicking. Being harsh, maybe a little bit slow to get down for the goal.
Chester 7 - very good debut aside from the mix up for goal.
Knight 6.5 - not a bad performance especially when deeper. The issue I’ve had with the calls for him in midfield is if Bird and Hourihane play it still doesn’t work. Will be interesting to see what LR does.
Roberts 6.5 - did a good job but isn’t a LWB. Would be an excellent LCB if we play a 3 but that is the same position as Cashin.
Cashin 7 - largely very good. Match saving tackle at 1-0
Davies 5 - below par by his standards. Nearly cost us when he decided to go on an adventure and gave the ball away.
McGoldrick 7 - far too good for L1 but not a lone striker.
Sibley 7 - key to moving the Wycombe defence around and making things difficult. Needs a league goal but confident that will come and very happy he is establishing himself
Hourihane  7.5 - point for each goal and showed why Bird will go off over him in these types of games. If LR can get the midfield balance right we will be play offs at least but it won’t be easy.
Mendez-Laing  7.5 - excellent, liked him as a very attacking RWB but not sure how he’ll be there in games where we need to do defending. Lucky to have him.
Bird ? 6 - some good things some bad. Having a sub par season overall and am a little worried for his place in the team. Again just seems to want half a second too long on the ball but confident he’ll adjust. Once he does I’ll be more settled with him and CH in midfield. Fans at matches need to stick with him
Collins 7 - much needed focal point up front.
Barkhuizen  6.5 - always good until he needs to provide end product. Seems to love crossing first time when a bit more care taken might be good.
Forsyth  6 - no time to do anything good or bad.

Anything better than a match day thread when we go 1-0 down early and win?
Reading it back, it often feels like we’re the only team to have ever been losing.

Very attacking subs, but I don't understand how/why Hourihane is staying on. He doesn't have the legs for a whole game. Does Chester have legs for a whole game too? Odd to bring two of your more youthful players off first.
Radio Derby says we haven't taken any of the daft (my words) short goalkicks this game.

Derby’s open play xG per shot of 0.09, 8th best in the league.
    Ipswich 0.077 (13th best), Sheff W 0.094 (5th), Bolton 0.084 (9th), Portsmouth 0.0904 (7th), Plymouth 0.065 (21st).
Highest open play xG per shot in the league is Burton with 0.116 but we all know about their defensive record on the flip side of that. Cheltenham 2nd but also conceding a fair few.
All the above open play only. Our set play xG per shot is broadly in line with Ipswich, Plymouth and a fair bit better than Sheff W.
I guess no teams in the league are “set up to create good chances.”

Wildsmith 6 - couldn’t do much with either goal, looked a bit unlucky with the pen but would probably have been retaken if he’d saved it as he was about on the 6 yard box
Knight 5.5 - poor for the penalty but generally fine performance
Roberts 6 - playing a difficult role but looks comfortable doing it. Would quite like to see him as a left sided centre back in a 3.
Cashin 6 - not sure why but doesn’t make me feel particularly comfortable when he takes risks on the ball yet, competent defensively.
Davies 4 - under par and loses an extra mark for being the final straw leading to me turning the game off in a strop in the 92nd minute when he played some crap pass out of play.
Dobbin 5 - nice touches but lost the ball too easily with stray passes, not convinced we can play away games with him and Sibley.
McGoldrick 6 - nice touches and drove us forward, looks after the ball.
Sibley 5.5 - doesn’t look after the ball as well as McGoldrick yet, the contrast between his cup and league form is weird. Not the answer to all of our problems.
Hourihane 4.5 - an enigma, get the feeling he should play because he is dangerous in the right situations but I’m not sure how to fit him in perfectly. No slight on Bird but he isn’t good enough defensively to cover Hourihane off the ball.
Mendez-Laing 6 - quiet first half but should’ve come out the second with a goal and an assist. Always dangerous, need more players with his physicality.
Bird ? 4.5 - should be dominating games, isn’t. Wants too much time on the ball and seems to need a ball winner next to him at the moment but we have seen before he hasn’t always. Carrying both him and Hourihane at the moment.
Collins 5.5 - decent in general play, nice finish but offside.
Barkhuizen 5 - seemed to give the ball away every time he got it and should’ve scored. Team looked better with him on but probably coincidental.
Osula 5 - thankless task, couple of nice touches.
