I have a vague memory of him telling Rowett he was going to the States at the end of the season, but that he was told to leave in January. There was definitely some other talk about how he was treated (not by Rowett I don't think) but I can't remember the specifics.

    Godzilla Minus One (Netflix).
A former kamikaze pilot spends the whole movie trying to make up for a moment of cowardice that cost many lives.
Never seen a Godzilla movie before, but this was a very human story that just happens to have Godzilla in it. Very good.

The club have been amazing with Reuben. Rammie came down to the Children’s Hospital to see him. Some of the players and staff have sent messages. It makes such a difference to his recovery.

Just an update for everyone as I have had a few messages from Derby fans on other platforms asking how he is.

Reuben is doing well and is now spending more time at home during the weekends. He is still an inpatient at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. His sounds are developing and we have had glimpses of ‘mummy’ and ‘daddy’. He is starting to stand now but he is still a while from walking. His right arm is starting to get movement at the elbow but nothing at the wrist or hand yet…. So it’s all heading in the right direction.

Reuben is progressing really well and is now working on being able to stand and put his weight through that right leg before he moves on to trying to walk. A little bit more movement in the right elbow but nothing yet in the wrist and hand…..

Reuben’s rehabilitation continued this morning. Trying to get him to put weight through that right arm. He is far too clever for his own good though and decided to shuffle on his bum to make his life easier!

The Phantom of the Open: Mark Rylance as watchable as ever playing Maurice Flitcroft, the guerrilla golfing legend.
A touching, gentle and endearing outing and well worth a watch.

They tried to use it as mitigation, but it wasn't accepted by the committee in their hearing. They got 2 points back for admitting the breach (though they then tried to mitigate away their punishment with the Johnson factor) and cooperating with the investigation.

I might be getting this wrong, but wasn't the delayed sale of Brennan Johnson a mitigating factor in their point deduction? I imagine they'd be given some leniency again if clubs hold them to ransom this time. But still, hope they get taken to the cleaners.

Maybe so but surely starts to wear a bit thin given Johnson is going to be included in this one and they still need the £20m

Just listened to the TalkSport interview. As you would expect he came over really well. I don’t think there are many managers that have his level of emotional intelligence. It’s clear there is lots of thought and planning behind everything, Paul and his team clearly live and breathe and put the hours in. Really interesting there’s two systems he’ll focus on in preseason and basically the players need to know everything about it so have to do their homework and be prepared to talk about it.
Also it’s clear that he sees good dressing room environment as a potential differentiator and focuses on it heavily,  Personally I think this is why we beat Bolton  automatic, when we weren’t playing well the squad togetherness got us through. Most successful underdogs have strong dressing rooms and togetherness. Look at Luton Cov those sorts of teams. It can bridge some of the gap in quality where teams have bigger budgets. Interesting the whole Warne being appointed was basically Stephen Pearce liking Warne’s interviews, listening to his podcast and basically concluding this is the type of manager we want running our club. Human first and foremost.
I also found it interesting when Matterface was asking him on Derbys budget last season trying to infer maybe Derby didn’t have the biggest budget and overachieved last season, Warne genuinely didn’t know if we had the biggest budget he saw the team as top 4, not necessarily top 2 which is how I saw it. However more interesting he said that in his 3 Rotherham promotions not once did he have a top 6 budget. I think we need to put some more respect on just what he achieved there.

This season is his acid test, he will be battling expectancy, but he’s here as he wants to push Derby towards the premier league and go beyond  where he’s been as a manager before so he has the hunger, he creates a positive environment for people to be at their best and has demonstrated throughout his career thus far he can overachieve his budget, something we will need to do if we are to ever get back to the premier as there won’t ever be a scenario until we’re promoted that we have a top 3 or even top 6 budget. He’s definitely the right man for now and I really hope he proves to everyone this season just how good he is.

Bens father recently passed away , I think it’s his funeral on Friday , so I’m sure anything football related is on the back burner , the last I was told was that Ben had spoken to Paul Warne and while Ben was impressed he wanted to see if any Premier league clubs were interested before he made his decision

My 6 year old daughter wanted a cockatiel back in 1990. She's never fed or cleaned it out once and moved out in 2004. The bloody thing is still going strong making a hell of a mess everyday by flicking half his food out of the cage. Its bad tempered, tries to bite you every time you put your finger near it and whistles loudly when you are trying to watch or listen to summat.

A Chad lad born and raised Jimbo ?  From a DCFC family , Scores against us in the 92nd minute in a ****** shirt , i know Osborn left our academy at a young age to go over to the dark side , with Lascelles and one other ? surely basic human morals would tell him to sky that shot over the bar ? Still hurts , not welcome back for me

Although I think Brown is a great prospect, one has had Prem experience. Been learning from a great Prem striker in Antonio.
Played in Europe and scored. Been in the England set ups up to under 20’s.

He’s definitely more Championship ready. And what’s to say they couldn’t play together anyway? Although I personally think Brown could benefit from a league 1 loan

Roy Mac, my old man was mates with a lot of the 70's team and Roy has always been really nice to our family.
Stevie Powell, really decent bloke, again mates with my dad, played with his lad Stevie jr. for the Rams under 16's and he was another top bloke, as was his dad Tommy. Really nice family.
Ken Oxford , bloke was my first ever GK coach, taught me the basics when school and Allestree Juniors couldn't be bothered, took a keen interest in my progression in later years. Worked as a security guard in later life, got attacked once, he fell on the cash box like a GK on the ball and wouldn't let go, top top man.
Roger Davies, when Ken or Eric Steele couldn't play for the ex-Rams team Roger would give me a call as a 17 year old to help out in nets, he was a proper gent and looked after me, always asks if I'm still playing when he sees me. Not so nice to play against with his elbows and stuff mind 😂
Eric Steele, first met him when I was about 12 on one of his coaching courses, then he was the GK Chesterfield brought in when I was there, took an interest in me and took me training with first team keepers at Wolves and Oxford. Broke the news to me very gently and respectfully that I wouldn't get a pro-contract at Chesterfield. After I had a few years doing party drugs and the like and stopped playing football he heard that I was back playing at Mickleover, he invited me round to his house and some harsh words for me and gave me a load of Sondico gloves (same ones Poomy wore) and boots, he had no reason to do that. and shows the mark of the man. as far as I'm concerned. He has got loads of signed gloves for my mums charity, likes of Butland, Allison, Pickford. Still meet up every couple of months for a coffee and a chat, he even has me coaching sometimes! 90% of people in the game have so much time for him, also a Rams legend having been keeper for two promotions and coach for one.

Agree with everyone that mentioned Roy Mac. Met him at a Royal crown Derby Xmas do about 40 years ago and got talking to him at the bar, after about 20 minutes,  his wife and my ex were up asking where the drinks are.
Marco Gabbiadini is a cracking bloke who always stopped for a chat,  used to bump into him and his missus on markeaton park when we both had babies in prams and we'd talk football and the women would talk babies.
