French PM on TV tonight said they suspended AZ because if the blood clot was proved right they would be hammered for not protecting the public.   But there is no evidence and we want the AZ to resume ASAP to get them out of the mess they are in.

Is a good point, but is it THE point?
Comedy has always been subjective - some hate McIntyre, millions love him; what I find funny others will not; I wouldn't cross the street to watch Frankie Boyle, others think he's a comedy hero.
The point, I think, is that in days past if you didn't like what a comedian said or found them funny, you didn't watch, didn't laugh or didn't buy a ticket. At most you wrote a stiff letter to the BBC.  Nowadays, you write something on social media about being offended and then find 20 other people that you've never met before that think the same, or who daren't disagree with you.  Before you know it there's a thousand more from around the world - some of whom will never have seen or heard what has been said but are just reacting to the reports and say they are disgusted.  That then gives the appearance that millions of people agree, that the whole world is disgusted and to which comedians and commissioners and politicians and other media personalities (except Piers Morgan) have to react in the only way they know.  By banning/not repeating said jokes or comments, which are then effectively censored.  You therefore no longer have the right to tell what jokes you like, unless you want public opprobrium or a career on the fringes or become a very 'safe' comedian like Tim Vine.

As a naturally hilarious person that feeds off cheap gags, I myself feel constrained somewhat now not to offend.
It’s difficult, and comes down to not knowing what goes on behind the screens that are reading your posts.
Myself and Boycie, we give each other some right stick, at times it leaks on the forum, he gets all the fat jokes, I get all the no hair. I try to target it specifically at him, and not to capture all fat people, which may I add I’m actually fat myself right now thanks to lockdown.
We can handle it, others not so much, and it’s mostly because we have built up this online relationship to do so, but say if a new member joined, in his first 10 posts starts calling me baldie, chances are I’ll not be offended but think who the hell is this person.
As moderators, that’s part of the “job”, recognising these relationships, and those that clash.
Back in the day I got it wrong, gave @Eddie a warning for something he posted to @Mostyn6, now as you will all be aware, Eddie doesn’t have much of a filter. When Mostyn found out he dropped me a PM to explain they’ve known each other for years over Derby County forums and have these back and forth flirtations.
    Warning removed, apology given.
It’s a minefield it really is, and if I ask anyone reading this to be a moderator, do yourself a favour and say no.

I hear what you're saying, bro.
Fine lines and all that, and they seem to be getting finer by the day.  I guess we all have our sensitivities, but I'm a great believer in either laughing it off (for 99% of the time) and ignoring the rare "joke" that may touch a nerve.
Whilst there are some out there who deliberately set out to offend, I like to think I'm pretty good at sussing out who they are, and who are the ones that just want to brighten up the day, and bring a smile and laughter to people's lives... even if they do a poor job of it!
I do feel that for every single "offender", there are dozens waiting to be seen to be offended.  I find that sad, in all honesty, but I guess we just have to let them get on with it.  Perhaps some laughter would do them the world of good!

I thought this, I’m pretty sure Whittaker and sibley etc were on £1k per week. When I saw 4x money I thought surely we could match that. Maybe fa should bring in wage caps for players that can’t sign pro terms to avoid money becoming a factor in young lads moves which it really shouldn’t be.
Kaide needs to decide whether he is good enough to break in to Liverpool’s team, or whether can break into Derby’s team get the experience of men’s football and move on.
It I was in the same position as Delap last year I’d have gone. However Kaide seemed on the verge of making it in to the first team by the way Rooney was talking so I’d have thought I’ll make it here and go somewhere for a big fee and go straight in to a bigger first team in the prem etc in a couple of years time.
Of course it would be very rare for kaide and his mum to work that out. They’ll have been shown around Liverpool and a big figure put in front of them probably met some first team players and it would be mind made.
I actually think if he has a decent agent he’d be telling him to make it pro and then go for a big move later on. (agent will then get a bigger fee)

Your local club is always the right move when you’re 7, that’s who you’re you’re going to get scouted for usually but that doesn’t mean that its the right choice 8 years down the line. Nobody knows which club he will develop better at. Derby have done what is right for them and will be making far more than he ‘owes them’ for the training that he’s had.
And i don’t think he’s got an agent!
You’re entitled to your opinion but to say that the decision is just based on money when you don’t know anything about it is wrong.

Just wished to make my self known in this thread and kudos to the thread starter.

Suffered with Anxiety when I left the Army, I think it was always there, but leaving just accelerated the process . I mentioned on a post a while back that last year was my first Game at Pride Park in 5 years or so. I broke contact with all social media and friends as I  just could not fathom the process of people and crowds, the nerves I had driving in the car, seriously I contemplated turning back numerous times . I got to the ground 50 minutes before kick off and left 15 minutes before just so I could cut any sort of social interaction or anyone seeing me at all. I still suffer, I think I always will to be honest. But, that was the biggest achievement I could have ever made. Seeing my beloved Derby County in the flesh, my childhood team that I would follow home and away. It’ll always be a part of me, I know that. I’m still doing counselling and will be for a while (thank you to a certain Military Charity) and also thank you to Derby County’s supporter Liaison officer who made that game possible.
I would love to help or speak to anyone I can regarding any problems they may have and most of all be a friend.

It may be a day late but yesterday was “time to talk day” so I thought I’d give this a nudge to the top of the list.
2020 was a tough year for everyone and I struggled for one reason or another.  A few times I’d typed a post in here to get things off my chest and ended up pressing delete.  I don’t know why - shame, embarrassment, worried my problems weren’t real issues or because I’m a bloke?  Who knows.  I ended up taking some time off work in December as I was struggling so much.  I felt trapped, stuck and unable to think clearly
I have to say having the time off was one of the best things I’ve done as most of my anxiety/stress was caused by work.  And that in itself was tough - just like I’d deleted posts, several times I put the phone down whilst waiting for the doctors receptionist to answer.  For the first time in years I was able to switch off, think about how I’d got myself to that place and, importantly, think about what I could do to solve it.  I’m now starting to see the wood for trees and I’m having CBT sessions for anxiety.
It’s a journey but I think I can now see a way forward.
If you do look at this, thanks for taking the time to read my post.  But most importantly, every day should be “time to talk” day.  And this time I didn’t press delete!!

Very good point and likely to get worse as a result of Brexit. Big clubs were able to bring in good kids from the continent now that will not be the case anymore. As a result If their age group is not great they'll need to get young British kids and good category 1 academy like ours when the club is inot in the PLwill be the first port of call i would have thought. It stinks but money talks.

All you dirty buggers that like drinking this real ale stuff - Don't know if your aware of this
National supermarket chain Aldi is selling a Derby company's beer to stop it going to waste.
The German retailer has joined forces with 13 British brewing companies to sell alcohol that would normally have gone directly to pubs.
Among those in the scheme is Derby Brewing, which is supplying its "Business as Usual" beer to the supermarket.
The malt beer, which has won regional awards, went on sale in Aldi stores on Thursday, January 28, and is available at £1.49 for a 500ml bottle.
Other brews going on sale in Aldi include golden ales, IPAs and bitters, sourced from local breweries around the UK.
Paul Harris, managing director at Derby Brewing, said it was great to be able to find a use for the beer in a year that his seen its main sources of income taken away by lockdowns and the Covid pandemic.
"It's been a really difficult year for us," he said. "As brewers, we take pride in our beer and our craft.
"It would have been terrible to see it go to waste so it's a massive boost for us that Aldi is taking on our excess stock and supplying our award-winning beer to punters across the UK.

He took his dream job,who wouldnt. Not enough experience? Zidane managed the kids at Real and won 3 CL. Yes he messed us about but chances are it was more down to Chelsea, we got a few quid, he'll get more few quid. Good luck to him.

Frank Lampard has already commented on his sacking:
*Friends and family are everything,” said the former midfielder. “When I got home, John Terry was already there comforting Christine on the couch. Not sure how he heard the news so quickly, but they were both red-faced and breathless with emotion.”

I liked Lampard when he was Derby manager. Just didn't like the way he dithered about the Chelsea job at the end, that ruined our pre-season.
It's interesting to note that Wayne Rooney (19 points) has secured more points from his first 12 match as Derby manager than Lampard got (18 points), remembering that Lampard had the luxury of having the likes of Mount, Wilson, Tomori, Keogh etc to choose from.

luckily I’m at work all week and the majority of my stress/anxiety and depression recently has been to do with my daughter Clara who is absolutely smashing life now. ?
anxiety is pretty bad at the minute as her condition means she will struggle to eat and we have just started purée feeding which is terrifying.
