We travel from Cambridge. Went to match yesterday. travelled up Friday afternoon - had pub meal in Derby Friday on arrival, bought present for family member in Derby shop and visited Friday paying for parking, stayed in hotel and paid for some electric vehicle charge/parking Friday night, bought breakfast in cafe Sat morning, to main shops and bought some stuff Saturday morning, coffee and cake before heading to match, parking fee to I assume a Derby person at match, Frankie & Bennys after match whilst waiting for traffic to clear so fed and ready for drive home missing traffic. Plus match tickets, drinks in ground and couple bits in megastore. Is that enough for you as a fan who lives away?

What about the vaccinodrome next door. People go on bikes but not round and round. It is also used for badders, ping pong and volley ball not exactly mainstream sports are they?
All rather niche, the same could be said of the new swimmimg complex built at Moorways, it is only for swimmers.
Helping the club at this moment in need, helps local people, local jobs, local suppliers and that is what i pay my local taxes for

If the council buy the stadium, it'll be the best decision they've made for a long time.

First off, acknowledgements and apologies in equal measure, to @loweman2, for the inexcusable interruption of his otherwise mighty fine thread, here...

In short, the end of this season marks the 50th anniversary of arguably the greatest day in DCFC's history... Champions of England, for the first time.
The management team of the day have rightfully earned themselves a damn fine statue outside our very own Theatre of Flashbacks.
The players of the day have... to a man... rightfully earned themselves the status of "True club legends".
You'll note within the afore-linked thread that those very players were sunning themselves in Majorca when we were crowned Champions, and were pictured throughout the nationwide papier-press sat celebrating by the pool... in the sunshine... wearing... wait for it... SOMBREROS!  ("Ah!"  They cry!  "Finally, I see where this is leading"!
... So some highly intelligent and wise poster went on to suggest we may all consider similar headgear, for the last game of the season, in honour of those very same true club legends, and in tribute to their very own celebrations, 50 years ago.
Now, if you read that afore-linked thread from cover to cover, you'll note that I have now ordered and received my sombrero... (3 actually, so I'll be more than happy to donate a couple).  I've even included a couple of links to aid the commencement of any shopping trips you may wish to pursue, but of course, alternative sombreros are available from all good sombrero retailers.
You'll also note my pleas for you all... all 30,000+ of you... to join me in this rather spiffing, well-meaning, fun-loving, and possibly romantic crusade... if only to ensure I don't turn up looking like some weird loner in a rather splendid hat!
Remember... this is a nod to 50 years ago, and the greatest achievement in the club's history.  It has no bearing on today's shenanigans.  It is not in any way related to whether we avoid relegation or not.  It is neither reference to the fight, or the end!  And it is most certainly the very opposite of a protest!

Word is, a fair few of those Heroes of 71/72 will be parading on the pitch for the Cardiff games.  Let's make them smile.  Let's remind them of their wonderful memories, and their unique celebrations.  Let's maybe even embarrass them into again wearing sombreros themselves, rather than them feeling left out, this time around.
Do it for a laugh by all means.  But do it for Derby.  Do it for those legends.  Do it for History.

Oh... and these pages are the limit of my DCFC related interwebbery, so if anyone has the desire and/or capability to spread the word, please do so, and please accept my advanced gratitude.
Snakes at Stoke became a thing, so let's make Sombrero Day a day to remember... for the fans, the press, and most of all, those wonderful, heroic, legendary heroes of this mighty fine massive club of ours!

People say Macguire and Pickford are weak links. But we had had one of if not the best defensive record in the euros. Macguire maybe having a tough time at United at the minute, but so is everyone else at United, including Pogba. But France are still going to play Pogba, and England will still play Macguire.
No international team has 11 Messis. If they’re lucky, they’ll have 5 or 6 world class players, and that’s what makes them elite level teams, and the rest will be made of very good players. The best teams have a whole squad of a very good players that work well together. Most international teams have to really start scraping the barrel to fill a 23 man squad. So I’m not expecting Macguire to be the best defender in the world, but I am confident that he is a very good defender.
But you’re right, I’d love it if Tomori stepped up between now and winter. But it would be quite a gamble at this stage to throw someone fairly new into a tried and tested mix.

A number of things will have to fall favourably - as is always the case-for  the team to win.
From what I've seen recently, the team looks better with Bellingham in it. Southgate won't abandon the double pivot of rice +1.
He should have enough players for a decent squad with rotation and flexibility. There are still some positions where we seem to rely heavily on one player being fit tho.

That’s probably because we were better than Croatia, Scotland, Czech Republic, Ukraine and Denmark.
And we were at home in every game.
I mean, aside from Andy Robertson and a 36-year-old Luka Modric, who from any of those nations above would you have had in place of those players?
There is a reason why Shaw and Maguire are both slaughtered at Man Utd. It’s because they aren’t at that desired top level.

I agree with a lot you say. It’s not a coincidence that Spain ruled the world during the years of Barcelona under Pep, and Germany likewise following the work done by Heynckes and Klopp.
The PL has the best managers right now, and it no doubt plays a part on the national team.
The only bit I would contest is the quality of our squad. I think we have the best set of right-backs in world football, and a raft of decent attacking wide players and one world class striker. But we also have players like Pickford, Phillips, Maguire and Shaw who really are average.
Player for player I wonder how many would get in France’s team?

Defense as a unit was tremendous but Buchanan was not at the level of the other 3. i thought Davies, Cashin or Byrne could have won MOTM, they were superb today.
