Really? I've lost count of the number of people I know who have had it and been very poorly and know 3 people who have died.
That might be why some of your comments get taken quite badly by people and seen as insensitive?

Great idea. Stop counting cases, therefore there will be no cases. That's Trump-level pants-on-headedness.

In the end, the first heist (seasons 1 & 2) was quite nicely finished out. Should have left it there, as we made a start on season 3, where they decide to do yet another heist (despite now being billionaires) - and it's laughably bad

Clinical evidence shows that a single dose of Pfizer cuts the risk of catching the Delta variant of Covid-19 by 55%
You can't transmit if you don't have the virus - so cutting the amount of infections in half means half as many education disruptions

Was a farce anyway - we went to an event last week where you had to show your vaccination status QR code from the NHS app, but there was no way for the people checking to verify that the QR matched the identity of the person presenting it. I don't even know how they could do that. So not exactly difficult to circumvent
Voter ID to be scrapped next please

Not exactly the sort of form that marks her out as the natural successor to perennial home counties loser Tim Henman, is it?

You have to hope that it hasn't happened all too soon for her at 18 and that she doesn't suffer with the attention and expectation now. Unimaginable to think how any of us would have coped with this at 18!
Also, I have to say that it's not very British of her to suddenly be brilliant from nowhere at 18. We like our sports stars to spend several years getting our hopes up but not quite being good enough first!

I was transferring some old Super8 footage from the late 80s for a friend the other day and uploading it to youtube for him to preview and YT blocked one of the videos for nudity. I was baffled, but then it turned out that part of one of the reels was shot in a museum in Barcelona and it happened to pan past a statue of a topless woman. She had no head or arms like, and tits of marble, but it still triggered the porn censor!

There isn’t anyone on here that I wouldn’t like to have a pint and a chat with. I suspect in person there’d be a lot more shared ground - which is hard to achieve in text form.

This thread has been very informative, particularly as I'm setting up my own charity.
Crusade Against Self Harm will be launching shortly, contact me if you'd like to donate.
As we launch, we'll only be able to accept donations by Cheque, but no need to squeeze the charity name onto the top line, just use the appropriate acronym and the money will help those who need it most.
Thanks in advance.

Your excellent reply does not however, fit with the narrative that is being spun.

No point whatsoever. Just found it interesting.
Certainly don't think he should have hosted Theresa May at Pride Park during her election campaign though. Mind you, that's way down my list of grievances with the bloke.

It's not unrelated - MM is a trustee. He started the charity and donated £12.5m to it
I was just saying that I didn't know he'd done that and donated so much
The bit about the accounts being overdue was tongue in cheek
It's his money that he earned, and if he wants to donate it to charity in order to not pay tax on it then that's his prerogative and we can but admire his philanthropy

With respect - unless you were privy to the tax returns and accounting practices of MM then you're just guessing, and I remain unconvinced
And as for the government "giving" the charity Gift Aid - let's not forget that Gift Aid fundamentally comes from the government purse ie other tax payers money (ie you and me)
So in donating £10m , £2m of our tax take gets "given" to this charity in the form of gift aid. He hasn't spent all of it, so he's effectively taken money out of the economy, and it's sat in a bank account that he controls. Doing nothing
Anyone know what this charity actually does in detail (they have no website) and how one might apply for a grant?
