nogbad van 50 reacted to Dean (hick) Saunders in Pro Warne
I’m anti sack Warne, then punt on someone else in hope that it works.
Not sure if that makes me pro Warne by default.
Im not sure any manager can resolve the goal scoring problem without recruiting someone who we cannot recruit. This problem has been around since Cocu with several managers other than when we all to briefly had McGoldOne.
We desperately need to find a gem forward from none league or somewhere. Until this happens we can keep perming different managers with likely similar outcomes.

I wouldn’t, nor would I have appointed him, but I am trying to take a balanced view of where we are at without sufficient knowledge of factors like whether he still has the dressing room, and what the costs are to get rid of him. Who would be a football club saviour?

Big Trav VS Millenium is genuinely more exciting than the boxing yesterday.

Cant blame Clowes.
We're all football fans. We all like to think we know about football, but really we all know absolutely nothing about the innerworkings of a football club. We all really probably dont know that much about the game in general
The man has saved the club & been thrown in at the deep end. Give any of us a bit of money to buy the club & we'd all make mistakes.
Id like to see the club rebuilt, the academy etc, id like to see a good young team, trying to play football the right way. If someone comes in with the vision, then you dont mind losing if you can see what the long term aim is & it trying to be implemented

So who doing to build this wonder team capable of playing good attractive football, who should we give the job to? Importantly from where are they going to acquire all these young players?
More importantly how are we going to fund this.
May be all the Warne out brigade can start a go fund me page. Hell why not ask the Clowes detractors to chip in. Then buy the club and run it how they want it to be run.
I do hope there'll be a few million quid left over after acquiring the club. As I'm sure changing the manager and assembling a squad of talented youngsters won't come cheap.
And I wouldn't like to see fans turn on the new owners and manager, because they didn't spend money they didn't have and failed to get us immediately promoted.

So many very clever people who have half the facts and absolutely no experience of any of it but let’s not let that get in the way of…

I didn't laugh. I thought it was sad and very out of order.
As you implied, it smacks of bullying, ridicule and a lack of sensitivity.
I agree that he is a nice bloke who has done his best, but perhaps wasn't the best man for the job after all and it wasn't his fault.
We can really do without this smart ar*e kind of posting that makes a joke out of someone's desperate misfortune. Some folk need to grow up.

Eustace or Wilder get a better tune out of this squad.

nogbad van 50 reacted to Rammy03 in Sibley too good!
I like Sibley but he's just not as good as some think he is or what they thought he would be

nogbad van 50 reacted to sage in Sibley too good!
Here we go again.
We have had 1 bid in the last 4 years for him. £750k from Millwall.
It's always someone's else fault.

nogbad van 50 reacted to Brammie Steve in Sibley too good!
Watching Sibley in games recently I am more and more convinced that he is being over-managed!
Zlatan used to say that he was a Ferrari being driven like a Fiat!
Sir Matt Busby said to Bestie “George, just be in the round 15 minutes before kick-off and you’re in the team!”
Sibley is too good to be micromanaged. Would it be best for Mr Warne to let him off the lead and play to his strengths?
Use him or lose him to a Prem team and watch his value multiply for them!

nogbad van 50 reacted to Caerphilly Ram in Derby County vs Exeter City (H) Match Thread
Does it? I’m looking at it more as, we’ve not been at it the last couple of games and he needs a performance so he’s freshened things up.
What did you want to see? The same lineup as Sat?

nogbad van 50 reacted to Ewe Ram in Is Warne plotting a cunning plan
It’s not that, it’s been done to death. Every other comment is an insult about the manager, mostly by some bore who thinks they’re witty.
abuse is not ok, not even football managers.

Another excuse for a load of boring abuse towards him.

If it helps, we’ve got a game in hand on the teams occupying 4th, 5th and 6th place. IF we can win that game in hand we’ll be 4th, meeting that expectation of top 6.
You’re right there are still improvements to make, not sure there’s “massive work” as you term it, more fine tuning and establishing some consistency. Can’t you see any shoots of improvement and reasons for optimism from tonight? Or the good away form in general?
Players returning from injury providing depth and competition, 3 goals scored away from home, a win at a team previously unbeaten at home this season, a win against a team that embarrassed us in the cup a few weeks back, a solid looking defence over the last few games, we are on a mini unbeaten run too. It’s not all bleak.

I’ve been out tonight so just catching up. Apparently, we’ve picked a terrible 11 tonight and won’t get a shot on target. Hope that isn’t the case.

nogbad van 50 reacted to Jourdan in Derby v Cambridge Match Thread
Hibernating? No, though I wish I had been through the majority of 2009-2013.
We finished 7th by a single point. We are 12th after nine games, not 39.
Appalling? Why do people use such powerful language to describe the performance of a club that were moments from extinction less than 18 months ago and is still clearly going through a recovery period?
What’s appalling is the lack of patience and perspective from some of the fanbase.

What’s the reality?
We’ve had a less than spectacular start to the season? Results have been mixed? Performances have largely been poor? Who has said this is not the case?
Everyone can see the reality. Some people are missing the fact that it’s a 46 game season. Absolutely nothing has been won or lost and nothing has been decided. Portsmouth are certainly not champions and we are certainly not doomed.
Everyone wants better results, better performances and better players, but we are where we are and this will take time.

I purposely didn't read the forum until I was home and I'm so glad because you saved me the bother of posting earlier because its exactly what I would have said.
Every week its constant moaning about just launching the ball aimlessly, yet today we played the ball constantly on the floor. Passing was fairly crisp and our control really good. Lots of angled balls between their backline but then our final ball was either poor, the shot blocked, we didn't attack the ball or it just didn't fall right.
Pretty much controlled the game and if we'd had a better striker and/or a bit more luck then we would have won 2 or 3 nil. Set pieces were pretty poor to be honest though.
The boos were aimed at the ref/linesman who were awful 2nd half.
I actually enjoyed the game other than our failure to score, and its clear the agenda of a few regular posters is just to moan relentlessly, regardless thus rendering the match day thread almost pointless so I will avoid it in the future I'm afraid.
Disappointed and of course 'we should be beating' Cambridge but we missed good chances and were the only team playing football.
