Probably getting to the age of the population that aren't to fussed about getting the jab - therefore freeing up capacity?
Does anyone know what the latest uptake figures are, especially amongst the under 45s?

maxjam got a reaction from Stive Pesley in Gaming
Not got one personally but we had a Playstation VR for a while and whilst they are pretty good gaming wise for me and my kids at least the novelty wore off pretty quick tbh.
The problem I have with any VR set is that you're sealed off from your surroundings (people in the same room, dogs, furniture, etc) and they take up a lot of space. As you wear them for a bit you naturally shuffle around the room - then there is the problem of your flailing arms...
If you've got plenty of room to play (alone) and you don't mind the tedious setting up/putting away all the time they can be good fun. If your console/computer is in the lounge that other people use or you share the headset with others it can get fairly annoying however.
Dunno about the OQ2 but the PSVR had good resale value so there was always that ?

That's a bit ambitious. Most of them (Rooney included) didn't come back until about November last season ?

Side effects of getting the Yorkshire variant are said to include an immediate reluctance to spend money, talking in an annoying and grating whiny accent, and having an overwhelming feeling of self-importance. Long COVID has actually been endemic in Leeds and Sheffield for over 50 years based on my contact experiences.

This Indian strain is a great concern. Why are Indians over here not getting the Punjab? Tragic case down here, where someone not only lost their naan, but caught the virus themselves whilst caring and is now in an induced korma.

maxjam reacted to DCFC Kicks in Is VAR Ruining Football?
I agree. For me referee errors are part of the drama of the game. It feels like people are forgetting that football is primarily meant to be entertainment. It doesn't have to be an exact science, especially if it takes some of the passion away. I think more players, refs, FA executives etc. are in favour of VAR because football is there job and they don't see it a entertainment.

So am I correct in assuming that if the Government imposed some sort of media ban that you wouldn't then start saying that they were attacking free speech?
Just to bring this post back on to topic:
Independent headline 14 May 2021 'Scientists call for 'surge' vaccinations as Covid cases almost triple in England'
From the Uk Government Government coronavirus dashboard 13 May 2021 'Between 7 May 2021 and 13 May 2021, 16,079 people had a confirmed positive test result. This shows an increase of 12.4% compared to the previous 7 days'.

The story actually said that casea had tripled in some areas.
So in my mind that is exactly what the headline should say, not cases almost triple in England.
The sad thing is these stories lead to mass hysteria, which in turn leads to more pressure being applied on the Government to delay re-opening.
Data not dates, unfortunately, appears to have been replaced by pandering to ever shouts loudest.
If we were following data not dates, everywhere would be re-open by now as the rise in cases from school re-opening, that we were told was inevitable never materialised.

I disagree. Cases, hospitalizations and deaths were all falling in late November and it looked as if we were through the worst of it. Then came the B117 Kent/UK variant, much more transmissible and so it spread quickly and too hold. It was unexpected. So it became a race between the vaccination campaign and the spread of the new variant. The government and its scientists took very bold decisions, on the balance of risk, such as only giving one dose to vaccinate more people (Faucci in the US and the EU scientists were very disparaging) and strictly vaccinating the most vulnerable in order, despite the calls in the media and political opponents to vaccinate teachers etc first.
As you'd expect in an unprecedented situation, our politicians have got some things wrong but they've got a lot right. And these were brilliant calls in the teeth of fierce opposition, the government working hand in hand with the experts. The difference between then and now is the race to vaccinate before the virus spread was won. The Indian variant simply cannot cause the mayhem the B117 variant did because everyone vulnerable has been offered the vaccine and almost all of those have had it. It's possible if it proves really bad that cases and hospitalizations may go up a bit, but not to any kind of level that jeopardizes healthcare. We're at the stage when the thing is endemic and we will just have to live with it as a regular disease like everything else, coming back a little towards winter as seasonal respiratory viruses do.

Absolutely with the media. Something is rotten with it in the UK. In their utter desperation for the next "story" to keep the desperate 24/7 news agenda rolling and maintain ratings, they continue to try to terrify the public. Everyone who is vulnerable has now been vaccinated. Inevitably the virus will mutate and different versions will become more prevalent every year from now on, but it doesn't matter as people will no longer get seriously ill. And it doesn't matter as we are the most vaccine-friendly country in the world so everyone is being jabbed and transmission will continue to fall away.
It's easiest to give the figures for England only as they're immediately finale today. Out of a population of 56.3 million (2019):
818 people are in hospital and have tested positive for Covid. 115 of those are on ventillators. The rolling 7-day average of people dying each day (within 28 days of a positive test) is 8.7 Your chances of dying from Covid on any particular day are now in the same ballpark as winning the lottery. Now everyone who's in any danger is vaccinated, there's no mechanism for it to get worse.
Yes, in the future it's possible there might be a virus mutation resistant to the vaccines, just as in the future we might discover an asteroid on a collision course with Earth. If that happens we can deal with it. We've shown we can develop, test and roll out vaccines quickly as required.

Finally SpaceX has posted its own tremendous footage of the successful SN15 test flight:
SpaceX has designed its own Thunderbirds-style Starship transporter which secured the rocket without a crane and took it back up to the launchpad, where it's currently standing waiting to be prepared for a second test flight. Which would be remarkable.

This is a bit of a reach, but I've posted on every other social media platform that I have and my mum is pretty upset about it.
Tonight at roughly 5.27pm my dog managed to escape our gate and we've been unable to find her since. She escaped on to our driveway next to the B6179 just outside of Little Eaton.
Posting on the off chance that somebody may have been driving past at that point in time and seen something, cheers.
