They were great again. And whoever is currently guesting in the West Stand Upper - please stay. It's brilliant having some fellow singers around.

Derby blood reacted to RIMBAUD in South Stand: Respect
Just want to bump this thread. Just got back. I thought the support today was brilliant. At about 55 mins it felt like the whole ground was going and that’s rare. Supporters can see the effort and endeavour being put in. Long my it continue.

And all the time this was going on their player was laughing and grinning at our fans, fully aware of what a tool he was. He spent as much time turning and grinning at our fans, goading them, as holmes did the other week.

The referee and the idiot running the East Stand line were embarassing. There was one incident in the second half when I think it was Forsyth winning the ball with a good tackle, the Boro muppet went down - ref hesitated for a few seconds, looked to the lino for guidance, the lino was struck dumb, looked at the ref for guidance and the ref must have thought to himself 'I'd better make some sort of decision here' and awarded a foul against Fozzy.
Crazy where they get these idiots from.

I assume has always Colin failed to see their left wingers high dangerous challenge on Byrne that the ref somehow thought was only a foul and nothing else. Plus the clear elbow that Jags took from the centre forward.
The challenge he referred too was just that one player more committed to it than the other..... The reaction on the touchline got the decision plus the booking from a terrible official.

If ever there was a game which demonstrated the value of Shinnie to the team then todays' was it. Granted there were a couple of wayward passes but the number of ball-winning tackles and interceptions went a long way to stifling the Boro attacking threat.
Some of the criticism he's had on here this week has been laughable.

We didn’t look like scoring loads of goals today did we? But we didn’t really look likely to concede. Middlesbrough are a poohouse team and last season they would’ve poohoused a goal. They didn’t. We were the only team today that played some actual football so I’m not as concerned as I was at the end of last season. Rooney has brought some life saving players in and to be fair, that’s what we needed this season.
I had us down for a loss today, but we looked ok, not promotion but ok. We might just survive the sh1tst0rm !

Would be nice. I was pretty much saying that everyone did very well last night. They played as a team, they worked very hard, they kept calm in their shape, looked confident and showed determination to win the game. Some of these factors have been missing, especially during last season.

Putting Morrison and Bird in front of the back four and decent opposition would soon rampage through our lightweight midfield, exposing our 2 CBs (as competent as they are at this level).
Shinnie is probably a level down from Eustace but even in those days there were fans who refused to acknowledge the importance of having someone in that defensive midfielder role. Given our current position in the Championship and the unlikely possibility of us mounting any sort of serious challenge for a play-off position, it's essential we have a certain physical presence in our midfield and until a fully-fit Bielik is back in the squad Shinnie is the only player in the squad who will provide that.

Curious as to Rosenoir’s comment after the game that he’d played with Baldock at Brighton and therefore knew his quality. Stearman and Allsop also in the England age group squads at the same time as Rosenoir (who played for the 21s as an overage player). Jagielka obviously a teammate of Rooney’s at Everton and Morrison a teammate at Man u. Suggests the 5 ‘out of contract’ signings could be heavily down to the Rooney/Rosenoir relationships rather than the ‘recruitment team’.

I posted earlier with general glee. It was a critique of an evaluation rather than a criticism. When we win, I often look where we can improve and when we lose i tend to look for the positives.

That should only be the case for the next 2/3 games. Once the accounts are in we should be able to play Cashin and LThompson... maybe in time for the cup?

To say we ended the game with three centre backs with a combined age of 109, I’d say we did alright.

Hopefully nobody was expecting anything other than that - he hasn’t joined us for the money - he wants to play football

With improved sports science and recovery programmes, if a player is a really good athlete, 39 shouldn’t be a handicap in age terms. He has the CV to be a star performer in the Championship for a season.

Derby blood reacted to Ambitious in Jagielka
Jagielka looked a class above in the preseason games and showed it again today. He’s getting on a bit, but he still looks very comfortable at this level. We have to be careful with him, but he still looks agile enough and doesn’t look at all slow. I think he can be an inspired signing, providing we don’t lose him in January.

What a performance.
Didn't put a foot wrong all game. Calm on the ball, great positioning, great leadership, won every tackle, won every header, even when they outpaced him he just put his body in the way?. Age is just a number!

We are playing some good football, fans who just want Derby to do well will get behind and support the team. Some will have agendas against Rooney or Mel and will criticise, twas always the same.
Brilliant support so far this season home and away.
