This could be the first time in his life that Paul Warne has been given a big lump of cash to spend on players . Not having to trawl round the bargain bucket for players . I would imagine young players in the mould of Knight and Bird would come as part of a medium term strategy.

Agreed. I think Adams or very similar to Adams and the new Jason Knight will be on the shopping list, as will a championship version of James Collins. And hopefully a version (replacement) of Sonny Bradley that is what he thought Bradley would be for us this season.

This is the one of the things that worry some fans. How often will we fail to 'pinch a win' and against what quality of opposition? We'll still have the ethos of a 'middling fish' or at least trying to be a 'middling fish' pinching wins in the Championship pond.

    It's a fair enough question.

I think he's earned the chance to answer it.

  4. I suspect his situation is dependent on what division we're in, if we go up I think we'll try to sign a new keeper and either offer him the back up job or let him go.

I agree,he's been a good keeper for us and I wouldn't just throw him out but I suspect he's not really got the Paul warne love. I think Angieram mentioned he's not been offered a new contract yet.

  5. He deserves his chance with us next season, the squad will be rebuilt through necessity.

I imagine we'll be recruiting better, younger versions of some of the older and departing members of the squad.

I don't think we'll play a radically different style, we'll just be playing it better with better players, but, also, against better quality of teams.

I think a lot of folks aren't really appreciating we're going to go from a big fish in a small pond to a medium sized fish in a much bigger pond.

PWs style partly drives some mad in league 1 because we're supposed to be dominating a lot of games and winning a lot of them a lot more comfortably than we have been. Making top end championship teams look like top end championship teams as we pinch wins is a lot more forgivable than making middling league 1 teams look like top end championship teams as we pinch a win. But we've got the results needed by doing it.

What is their argument gonna be:

"they said we are like a mafia gang, which we need to sue for because we are 100% definitely not a mafia gang"

The Forest Forum is pretty depressing, many of them they are making an incredible stand here vs the problems with VAR and referees in general. They all seemed to miss the part where they excused an official of deliberately cheating to benefit the team he supported.

They also claim that loads of other people are behind them (some tweets) and there is a grand conspiracy between Premier League, The Media, TalkSport, Sky etc. They are all coordinated against plucky little Forest, who should have had a penalty, so called out someone for cheating.

I really want them to take legal action. It'd be hilarious. The entire shambles just bringing more and more attention to how pathetically they are behaving.

Likening a tweet that appears to imply a threat to mafia language (the context that everyone understood it to be) is hardly going to fly in court, and if it gets that far, Sky can fund the kinds of lawyers who've seen off much worse.

If anyone should be taking anyone to court it's Atwell for being slandered by forest.

Stamping their wee feets determined clear accounting breeches should be ignored because forest reasons and forest alone have the moral authority to feel hard done to by decisions.....I do hope that appeal delivers justice......

    From the BBCs Simon Stone.

BBC Sport has been told Nottingham Forest made contact with PGMOL on Friday to highlight the potential for Nuno Espirito Santo being asked about Stuart Attwell’s appointment in his weekly press conference that afternoon.

As it turned out, the subject was not raised in the press conference.

It is being stressed that at no point were PGMOL asked to change the appointment or that Forest had an issue with Attwell’s involvement in the game.

    From the original Forest tweet.

We warned the PGMOL that the VAR is a Luton fan before the game but they didn’t change him.

Looks like they never even enquired about Attwell being dropped! …..🤡🤡

So "we warned" but did not request a change sounds like some sort of threat that if they're not happy with the decisions.....it's also sounding pretty damn flimsy if forest think anything beneficial to them is going to come from this. Semantics to imply something improper on behalf of the pgmol.

It's all making the case the prem in general would be delighted to see them relegated.

  8. Just one more test for our fellowship of the Warne. Can they cast league 1 football into the fires of mount doom, or will they make a right Gibson out of it like a bunch of total bamfords and earn a place in infamy for their diabolical ineptness?

I just can't bring myself to see it as done until it's done.

I remember heading to wembley in 2014 knowing we were going to win, and we all remember how that panned out.

This week is going to suck.

Let's hope next week makes up for it.
