Windass was never much cop at that level and Bannan was struggling for periods last season and was reaching the end.  Mendez-Laing has always been decent in the championship and got promoted with Cardiff I think.  He'll only have half a season in him though.

There's always the what are we (well, the manager) asking them to do side with the older players, NML can still do a job in the championship but I'm not sure we could lean on him the same way we have done in league 1.

Surely if Forest were talking now about how they'll get on in the championship next season we'd be complimentary about their realism.......😉

I'm pretty sure they'd be hilariously unrealistic about just how they'd do the championship (oh the good players will stay because they love forest, the bad players will be sold for huge profits, everyone will feel privileged to play at the "world famous" city ground " etc etc...

Boro have a proven Championship player on loan . He has scored in the Prem, the right age and could be bought for around £4 mill. Lewis O’brien is perfect for a passing game , and got Huddersfield into the play off final. Perhaps Florists would let him go if they stay up .

If they stay up they'll no doubt be spending the big bucks on brining back Jessie tiktok.

The comments about Scotland fans signifies which team he really supports.

I'm stuck onsite with a "big rangers man" at the moment. Most amusing moment was the Asian security guard asking him where he's from, and, if he's russian. Couldn't help himself with the "ah, but your in-laws, are they Celtic or rangers....."

There's always that section of our fanbase that write players off immediately and refuse to see the qualities when they do well. People on twitter were angry he came back in to the side on Sat, after 2 goals and MOTM they still refused to admit he was any good. His career suggests he has the character required to achieve promotions and success.

Once (a subset, granted) our fans settle on the team Scape goat some of them are very reluctant to let it go.

Gary Teale, Jacob Butterfield, Keogh, and many more before)

  6. It's seems like a case of do Bolton blow it here, rather than are Shrewsbury able to get something, which is probably a bit of a disservice to Shrewsbury. But on the other hand,I can't see Bolton dropping points today, so it's still on us to win our last 2 games.

    Jesse Lingard. So it continues....

"He only played a few minutes, and yet he didn't work hard and avoided tussle," Kim said, according to national newspaper Joongang Daily after the Jeju game, Lingard's third, in which he came off the bench after 58 minutes.

"Fame doesn't win football games. If it did, I would have brought in a famous retired player."

  9. He was good today but I'm still not in love with him as a player.

He hasn't fully deserved the slagging off he's had from some quarters but I'd be fine with us moving him on despite his two goals today. I know he's had good games and but there's something about feeling secure with the defenders the Neson and Cashin and Fozz have in spades, it might get there with him, but it's still nagging me.

Yes, it was mentioned to Warne on the Radio Derby interview.

He replied something about most points, most set pieces, best looking manager aside, what we will really be judged on is promotion. (I paraphrase!) It was quite amusing.

He also threw in a warne-ism about handing back his car keys if he hadn't, which i took to be tounge in cheek.
