I think you are both being a bit disingenuous here. I read that, and align that with all the noises Rooney has made lately, trying to prove he is committed to this club. I take this as a sign of positive intent, albeit whether he has what it takes to be successful is another issue completely, I think what he's saying is he's here for the long haul and not going to snake away and distance himself from potential faiilure.

Ah, I see where you're coming from.
But I do agree with @kash_a_ram_a_ding_dong that we are much more aware of how to do something about it these days.
Be warned (not you!) Anybody near me at a football match this season who starts with any racist, homophobic or other crap WILL get reported.

@Bald Eagle's Barmy Army! I normally enjoy reading your posts but I have to disagree with this one! The song is childish but it is also very unkind, thoughtless and potentially distressing to the family. I'm sure that Colleen has got used to this kind of abuse, but I still don't like songs like this to be thought of as acceptable. I know that David Beckham has had to put up with the most vulgar and derogatory comments about his wife and no one should have to listen to those kind of vile chants. I'm posting because silence gives assent and I want to register my objection. Just don't make these songs so vile and personal. Aim them at the club generally and not at individuals especially when it involves wives and children.

Plenty of work rate and effort,no real spark going forward ,you always feel Lawrence and joz are going to have the ball taken off them or run into traffic before passing or shooting,
big worry was at the back , ok ish early on but my god we were easy to get behind and against a better side we would have been in trouble ,our defending of set pieces is almost non existent, free headers were the order of the day yet again
but it’s a point on the board and move on though ive a feeling it’s going to be a long hard season??‍♂️

No excuse not to turn up and support the lads. If you don't go to this one when they really need you then you cant consider yourself a true fan.

I personally cant make it this weekend, but i hope to get to one soon.

This weekend the eyes of the football world will be on the Rams. Absolutely no point in turning up to protest - that would just be a huge shot in the foot. The situation is what it is. Let's turn up, cheer and support WR and the players. 3 points from a win will give the players a huge boost; siege mentality, fans behind them, nothing to lose. We're in this together. If you can keep your head when all about are losing theirs and blaming it on you...

Amongst all this nonsense though, a nod to Curtis Davies. He's seen his fair share of bullcrap in his time here and is still willing to stick by us.
    What a guy.

I find it interesting that we have got more information from Ravel Morrison deleting a tweet and unfriending us on social media than we got from a 4 hour meeting with Mel Morris on Wednesday night.

Let me rephrase then, I'd rather give Cashin, Solomon and any other promising academy lad a shot before playing Stearman and I'd rather play Forsyth.

Davies signing is something at least but with Stearman... I'd rather just give Cashin a shot

I think Jim Wheeler pretty much said it on RD. Mel wanted to vent, to tell the story of how he feels wronged - both by the EFL and by the views of fans of him on social media. But much of what he said either would risk any conclusion of the EFL fiasco or endanger any sale of the club to prospective new owners. So, and I understand this totally, I guess anyone writing up notes from that meeting just wants to make sure they weren't the one who said the wrong thing that caused the latest sale of the club to fall through.
For this reason, Mel should have just shut up or gone out and got a counselor. Sell your memoirs or do the podcast tour when all of this is done but as it is all in such a sensitive state it beggars belief that Mel would put it all at risk just for the sake of a little personal redemption here and now.

I’ve spoken to David, he’s done his report, sent it to the club to check it’s ok with them.
The clubs not managed to get it signed off yet. One can only assume that they have other pressing matters, players contracts etc if you read what Mr Nixon has said.
I’m assured that there is some further detail to what’s already been released by the Punjabi Rams and Jim Wheeler on Radio Derby.
I was worried that everyone was waiting with baited breath only for the exact info to be in David’s report that was already out there anyway.
Please try and see it from his side, he’s piggy in the middle, and wants to make sure everything is ok with what’s in his report.
As far as I’m aware, due to David having to leave just before the end to catch the last train he missed an agreement to let Jim Wheeler do a piece to RD this morning.
But, that’s not what we go to the charter meetings for. We go to ask questions and to report to our members, not be a face to a joint statement.

David never put our name to a recent open letter to the club, and will never do so.
So please be patient, the timescale is out his hands, and he’s getting grief left right and centre on Social Media. In my opinion non of the other groups who were there are.  But that comes with us being the biggest group of Derby County supporters on the internet.
He’s losing his hair, what he has got doesn’t want turning grey.

Found the RD interview pretty interesting, more because of what was not said than what was said.
My take on it, my thoughts after I've looked at what is in the public domain.
I posted a while back about what I'd heard re: an American consortium taking over, I have heard nothing to suggest that this is no longer the case.
I've experience of dealing with due diligence for American companies, and boy do they love an NDA personally I've signed around a dozen, and what Mel couldn't talk of last night leads me (hopes) to believe that the silence through official channels is as a result of an NDA between Mel/DCFC and the consortium. The NDA between the club and bidders will also be separate and differ to the one between Mel and the fans groups last night.
I understand that a  lot of us are upset/frustrated/disappointed/angry and it's only human nature to want to point the finger and find someone to blame, but I'm hoping that it's more a question of cannot rather than will not when it comes to the lack of direct engagement with the fanbase.
I'd also suggest that the consortium are waiting for the accounts and actual level of debt to be finalised before moving forward, as I understand the accounts have to be submitted at latest in 13 days, so I reckon that it's more end of month/transfer window rather than start of season before we see proper movement.
I know we all want answers ASAP, but it might just be a question of wait out on this and when there is news then there is news.
I'd also ask that we remember what we have in common, that we are all Derby and want the best for the club, my view is that sniping at each other, different groups, posters and dismissing with terms such as wrist slashers or happy clappers does nothing good bar possibly making you feel better for a few second., Whilst people may have a different view debate is good, sarcasm, anger abuse in my view is not. I feel the club, with the dire straights we are in, need the fanbase to step up show why we are amongst the best in the country and support the club, manager and players during what is going to be a testing season.
Jesus, I've rambled a lot for a post that is just my opinion and not fact. Sorry.

I'm pretty sure the whole meeting, or even just the points allowed to be discussed publicly, can't accurately be surmised within the Twitter character limit. Punjabi Rams released those tweets quickly and possibly didn't expect how much blood the twitter "fan" base  was baying for.
The phone-in guy this morning seemed a little more balanced and was able to articulate a little more.
I'm reserving my judgment until we can be told what we can be in a bit more detail.
I'm not saying what PR or RT have put out there so far isn't honest, just that more detail is needed if possible.

The only explanation I can think of, is that while he really wants a team full of academy lads, he genuinely has no idea how to actually make it happen. The Scott Malone signing just epitomised the whole thing for me.  We had 2 promising youngsters who were on the verge of the first team (Lowe and Buchanan) and an aging, injury-prone Forsyth.  If we genuinely didn't think Lowe or Buchanan were quite ready yet, or we wanted some more reliable experienced cover there (in case Forsyth got injured again), then either get a loan in or sign someone like Byrne (relatively cheap, shortish contract etc). What you don't do is spend £3.5m and prem wages on a very average player who's not going to improve the team and just sit there burning wages and blocking the academy lads.
The problem isn't directly down the recruitment, the managers, the academy lads themselves etc, it's a lack of vision (and the nous to implement it) from the very top.  If we genuinely wanted a team full of academy lads it should be club policy to not sign old players on big money/long contracts, to not sign expensive players where we have academy lads on the verge of breaking through, to not appoint managers that only want a team full of experienced players and so on.  You can't just throw money at the academy and expect it to work.
Mel's whole "I'm not a boss who says no" schtick (in regards to managers wanting signings) just reminds of a parent who can't say no to their child wanting sweets.  It's literally your job to say no.  Tell the manager he can't have that new left back because he already has 2 promising ones coming through. And if the manager doesn't like it, get a different manager who does.
