    Piss poor from Warne.
I've been hung out to dry by managers at work previously and it ends up with  you looking to move and stick 2 fingers up at them.
If I were Clowes I would be having words.
Don't forget that we are a big club in a small pool. Warne hasn't had to deal with tough times before (at a big club). Rotherham were always tin pot.

So i have just listened to the interview. My fault for commenting before listening.
I see absolutely nothing wrong whatsoever with it.
He took accountability for 90% of the outcome. He did add the caveat that he is probably over analysing and bring paranoid.

Nope. He held his hands up but also said the players need to do better.
He may also learn a lesson to avoid bring overly honest and open in the future

I mean it wasn't at all, clearly you missed or decided to ignore the part where warne admitted it was his fault in terms of tactics and him not getting the message across as well as he could??
I'm not saying he should have said it but he said a few players and it could affect the way they play as he was vastly disappointed in their abject display

I think that the next few weeks are going to be absolutely crucial for Paul Warne.
His record in this division at Rotherham is undeniably fantastic. His record in the Championship is questionable, but potentially understandable given the resources available.
With Derby County, he has the chance to prove he can compete in the Championship.
The problem is, he has to keep his job here for long enough to get promoted. The last third of last season was disappointing. The start to this season is worrying - moreso that this is Warne's squad and Warne's coaching team.
IMO, the outcome of the next 5 games will decide Warne's managerial career. If he can turn things around, then a couple of dodgy early games will be forgotten and his past record suggests that we'll be in the promotion mix in April.
If we are still struggling in three weeks time, those calling for his head will be in the majority and the owner won't have much of a choice than to replace him. Warne will be forever a lower league manger - never trusted at a bigger club again.
Bringing in half a team never produces instant results. Losing McGoldrick was always going to be difficult. There are challenges, but overcoming them is what Warne is paid to do.
We need a couple of extra attacking players and we need results to be adequate in the short term to allow medium term development. I hope for his and our sake our next five games bring at least nine points or I fear that he's toast.
Personally, I think he'll succeed here and this week will just be a tiny blip. After all, Jim Smith's first few weeks were pretty dire and he did OK...that said Paul Jewell was also appalling at the start.

This is where Warne's personality does not help. He has no filter so throws out random thoughts he's best to keep to himself or the management team.

An opening day defeat should serve us better than a 5-0 win as it will temper expectations.
We have had a fair bit of turnover during the summer and it's never going to gel straight away.

Let's analyse the situation here a little.
We are a cash-strapped club which narrowly avoided extinction last season. We are still under severe financial restrictions imposed by the EFL - we have to adhere to a business plan agreed with them. We have a manager who has been here less than one year of a four year contract. In order to relieve him of his duties, a large percentage of his contract will need to be bought out - using money we don't have. In order to bring in the 'right' manager, it is likely that we would have to pay compensation to another club - the alternative being that we employ someone who is currently out of work. In order to strengthen the team, we need to either bring in loans (and very few players are being loaned out by Championship or Premier League clubs at the moment - it's usually a 'last minute' thing) or free agents who are, by definition, players who have been discarded by others because we are unable to pay a substantial fee. Oh, now I'm depressed.

The results and performances are tough to take, but hopefully Warne and his team learn from this and make the necessary changes and push for the necessary signings.
It doesn’t look good so far, but some of the posts on here are extremely reactionary and exaggerated.
Yes, what we have tried so far hasn’t worked. You can see that both pro and anti Warne camps are in agreement there. No-one is in denial. It’s the worst start imaginable.
However it is a very recoverable position, so do you abandon a manager and his project on the basis of two games and 180 minutes of meaningful football with a reshaped squad?
Seasons and fates are not defined by two games. Wins v Burton, Oxford and Fleetwood would present a totally different picture.
We need to stay calm and Warne needs to deliver a response and quickly.

Warne will no doubt be as disappointed with the performance, 1st half in particular  as the fans are & he will probably agree with the booing.
Hopefully tonight will be a kick up the arse for the players to realise they need to get their heads in the game.
I get some fans dont like Warne, but 3 out of 4 goals come from individual errors, you cant lay the blame for them at Warne, the players have to hold their hands up for them. We would have probably won the game vs Wigan without the 2 mistakes.
Its 2 games, people need to give their heads a wobble if they want Warne out.
