Although I'm not enjoying the football at the moment I do think PW has been very unlucky. He was clearly told he had a bigger budget in the transfer window before something happened? Then he seemed very reliant on Ward and Bird who both went out injured, plus all the other injuries. Sonny Bradley on paper looked one of the best signings in the division and hasn't yet settled, the Embleton signing showed how far down the list of targets we were, he looked like he'd just been captured by the Taliban.
People are calling for this passing football yet we get in a decent position up the field and they can't complete a 2 yard pass to each other, who and what could actually change what we have right now?

Could he be released then signed before or is that frowned upon outside the windows

Its when you see teams like Brighton and how well they are doing, reminiscing on the playoff semi's and thinking what could've been. Sickening really.

Warne: all that was missing today was some more energy…
…it wasn’t a bad game.
Stood shaking my head. Energy? Not being able to knit more than 3 passes together for me but I’m not a football manager.
Why do we have no energy so early in the season? Is he killing them in training with too much running or have they all enjoyed their holidays too much?

Watching the replay, for their pen the foul was outside the box still a daft challenge from Smith. Sonny is having a mare with us, I was expecting so much more. Wildsmith unlucky I do think it was hand but it's just his natural reaction. We had a clear pen in the second not given. The footballs not great but PW isn't having much luck with injuries and individual errors.

Get in!!!

Wow the refs had a stinker there should've carried on play and a goal, let's hope we score the pen

We've calmed down a bit now.
Elder calmed down that much he was asleep

Waggy will be happier more through the middle, need to get a hold of it in midfield start giving him some service.

Look very very light in defence now 😞
Got to be looking at a free agent after that

Hopefully just overstretched. But yeah it could be really serious.
Not looking great with the stretcher out, we're actually cursed with injuries.

As individuals maybe, but as a collective?
If Waghorn stays fit all season I do believe he could be our David McGoldrick. Different player, but he could contribute the same goals. If he stays fit there is a chance of anything to happen.
Waghorn gets injured, it'll be the same as they season I feel.
Create enough chances we'll score goals, I think we've got enough quality now to be providing for whichever ones of the 4 we play. Collins needs a goal to get his pre season form back, Washington and Waghorn both look dangerous whenever they've got the ball and I think JJ will chip in with a few too. Everyone wants to splash out on the "20 goal striker" but there's no guarantee they'll repeat it.

Wonder if we'll make a statement by announcing a new contract, we are no longer mugs ran by a mug, we're on the way back!

They signed him from Boro, but if Forest keep signing like they are doing, they might need to try and include it in their FFP returns anyway.
My bad, so they did. See he's just gone to Leeds to complete the trio of scum clubs.

They've had Spurs pants down last few years £67m for Johnson and Spence 🤣

A team too good for league 1, all down to PW now.

Can't remember clubs fighting for waghorn or Collins,if they are that good surely they would have had some sort of interest from elsewhere
We'll never know what other offers Waggy had but clubs will be regretting not trying based on what we've seen so far.

Bit of a strange underwhelming end to the window...as if it would be anything different.
Good signing it seems from Sunderland, just a shame we didn't sign a striker, we needed one for a top 2 push, but maybe Paul and David are comfortable with another see how we go year and then kick on next year.
Thank god Waghorn has hit a purple patch and long may it continue.
We have 4 strikers that most league 1 clubs would take, I'm happy with our business. Keeping Bird Sibley Cash could prove to be massive as the season goes on too.

Sounds like it. Would explain why he's not thrilled to be here, judging by his interview. Hopefully we can win him over in the time we have him.
Told you're in the squad Saturday to be sent 3 hours away the next morning not ideal 🤣

To me Warneball is wings cross repeat. We're playing good stuff from defence to final third but the final pass or cross let's us down nearly every time. It's also poor tactics playing to defenders strengths putting it in the air constantly. I hope with Bird returning we play some more direct stuff through the middle and run at defenders more.
