Surely NOBODY was naive enough to think he’d come straight out and say “ok Mel, as you wish. Me and you to court it is..” ? ??

But there should be more people calling his claim out for what it is, and what he is if he does not accept? A spurious claim.

Just looked, they are. No idea how they rate a manager, beating a team higher in the league, winning goals after subs? No idea

Fleming? Who was torn apart last night? Many, many lols.

Interesting question. I wonder about your motivation for asking and whether you are inferring that any humour will always involve offending someone. If so, I do not agree with that. And, my original post was not claiming to be "holier than thou" or anything like that. I just think there are limits to what people should say because of the impact that they have on others. Do you not agree?

Freedom of speech does not mean "free to say anything". With freedoms, comes responsibility. With being part of a society means caring about others in that society.

Heck, none of that is very funny, eh? in addition, I apologise for not answering your question directly.

EDIT: in order to draw a parallel and to quote you joke.

Aswell as believing humour should strive to be non-offensive, I am vegetarian. That doesn't mean that I do not eat. It just means that I eat food that is better for me - and for the planet (cue to start another argument, no doubt).

    From Max and Paddy:

Paddy: "I could not be one of those vegetarians"

Max: "Nah, man cannot live on chips alone".

    ====

Finally, apologies to all for going off topic

I was vegetarian in January….and as this insinuates all my culinary repertoire consists of is chips, I am retrospectively offended.
Further to this, under new guidance issued by the EFL, I can be simultaneously vegetarian and omnivorous as no one has the right to tell me what I am/am not.

    Are there?

We know Ashley has the money, and whatever the 'entitled' Geordies think, he'll spend some. He took them up twice and has sold them for a profit.

He's a businessman first but he must love football a little bit and what better place to be! #COYR

Agree! And in addition, with his standard multi millionaire ego…he might just want to prove every Newcastle fan wrong and make his next club more successful. And he doesn’t need to buy more ties….I’ve heard he is tight so this might just sway the deal.

To the mods.....get a grip here.

This is 2022 not the middle ages.

There are too many posts (> 0 is too many), presumably from men, offering up "their women" to whoever takes over the club.

We are all desperate for a takeover to be completed but there is no need for - and no humour in - these offensive posts.

Mods - get a grip here….this is 2022 and people should not be throwing around sexist statements eg “presumably from men” and gender/sexuality based assumptions, eg “their women” when exes were mentioned.

For those of you loving what Ebosele is bringing to the team, you will probably love what Ebiowei can offer too.

Not as fast, but his close control is better and his finishing this season for the u18s has been awesome.

If we can get new deals sorted and keep Ebosele, I think the pair of them could devastate defended in years to come.

To be fair, I thought his 5 minutes last night was enough to justify more time….a very good cameo.

It's felt like that at times!

I really do appreciate those of you who have chosen to engage with me rather than just hurl abuse.

Try and engage and you just take the points out of context. We DO all blame Morris for the dire situation we found ourselves in….but Gibbo is the only reason for our club’s situation not having been resolved. We knew this months ago, despite the multitude of denials.
You have absolutely no clue or are here to wind people up, people who have collectively supported a family club through generations.

Can someone get rid of this WUM?
(I hope that level of abuse is allowed moderators) He is only here to gloat over the demise of our club, as he clearly agrees with and blindly follows all the actions of his beloved Gibson, as does the vast majority of his fellow supporters of the pathetic ambulance chasing, hypocritical scummy club.

  8. 3 minutes ago, BoroWill said:

Just to point out once again, the action began long long before you were in administration. Are you saying Steve Gibson is prescient and knew that you were going into administration so started the action in preparation for such a situation?

When exactly? 2019 when the agreement was made with the EFL? or after? For the sale of the stadium? Or the FFP? It was only in 2021 according to the EFL.
When did Gibbo serve the legal papers?
When did the EFL state Derby had to respond?
I I send you a letter asking for money, for something you think is ridiculous, would you offer to take me to court? No..you’d tell me to serve papers.
Under UK insolvency law, anything that is not a debt at time of insolvency is not legal. It is only the EFL that say we have to look at it to retain the share.
Why hasn’t Gibson sought recompense from any of the other rulebreakers from the last 6 years?
You, are either deluded, or ignorant.

  9. 1 minute ago, BoroWill said:

I think if it came down to the wire he would drop the claim.

But this is his endgame….ultimately, it would be Morris’ fault for putting OUR club into administration. Morris would therefore go down in history as the reason The Rams died. Irrespective of who had their foot on our neck not letting us get up.

If this is something you can not grasp, and you can not see the vindictive nature of your prophet, then I suggest you slither back to your nice safe forum where (because of some nice backroom dealings) you only have to worry about your standard end of season flop.

  10. 28 minutes ago, BoroWill said:

For those who were asking earlier where the animosity from Boro fans towards Derby fans comes from, it's stuff like this ?

But that is because he is?

Quite literally destroying a club as collateral damage with no regard to its fans and community, in response to a personal vendetta against another egotistical millionaire who happened to call him out in dodgy tax liability selling ffp avoiding practices.

For avoidance of all doubt, Gibson has done this for 2 reasons, a quick cash grab with no due process after backroom deals with the EFL, and to destroy MMS reputation even further to the point he will not be able to enter Derbyshire.

I’d say ‘scum’ is a little light under the circumstances.

They probably don’t even need to reference the specific claims. They can get an injunction to stop the EFL kicking us out, or a clarification on how the insolvency act works to make it clear what they are allowed to do to any and all open claims.

I understand that, but the EFL is specifically stating the administration could fight the case in court or through arbitration. But you can’t fight something in court without the plaintiff serving you….therefore only leaving arbitration…which is obviously impartial ?

  12. 8 minutes ago, CBRammette said:

Looked at this couple of weeks ago - you have to fully go through process with EFL first. Although seems like it, dont think far enough along as yet

Agreed re the club/admins, but as fans we can complain about the original decision and appeal, the impartiality of the board, the denials about what was stopping the sale…all the other misinformation…..all to bring more pressure on the EFL and maybe highlight their failures.

  13. 1 hour ago, David said:

Before I sign off the night and listen to the missus woes from work, just going to say this, don’t be angry at the EFL’s statement tonight, it’s a positive one for us and it clearly states their position which allows us to move forward with a high court judgment.

Whilst we might disagree on the side they fell into, it wasn’t totally unexpected and we’ve been desperate for them to come down off the fence for a while now, this is better than to continue stalling.

Quantuma have what they need now, the EFL’s position and proof of funds to see us through the next couple of months, time for court.

Just a thought, but can Quantuma seek a high court judgement on something as a defendant without a claim actually being submitted? I’m sure it was mentioned Wycombe had not issued any papers?

  14. 8 minutes ago, RadioactiveWaste said:

Because presumably it would in our case have to be quantuma who took the case to the Ombudsman?

That’s what I thought, but their basic raison d’etra is to be an escalation point for complaints not resolved by the footballing bodies. Raise a complaint against them over their handling of the case (everything) which we can do as fans, then send it to their ombudsman. Worth a shot?

Time to start storming the pitch every match. Ruin the season if the EFL don’t sort things out. We’ve not got much left to lose.

Yes…but not our club. They will fine us. We need a coordinated across the country demonstration with many pitch invasions. Same time. Let sky sports ignore that!
