“be a 'football debt' but without that clarification the potential claims are almost as big as the entire value of the club and no creditor will take on that risk”
things are looking grim……I’m afraid by the looks of it our fate lies in the hands of Gibson.
to quote Margaret Beckett from yesterday.
“I assure him, and through him the Football League, that if, inadvertently—because the Football League is unable to remove the obstacles that at the moment it appears to be putting so firmly in Derby County’s way—that were to happen, none of those participating in it would be forgiven.”

True but who in the media cares. It feels like we need more pressure on the EFL but Rooneys interview and Lukaku being crap is more important the them.

What makes no sense is that so long as Wycombe and Boro are pursuing this as a football debt, they are guaranteed no money. This will bury us and you can't sue a liquidate club.
With that in mind, how can you come to any conclusion other than that they are trying to have us liquidated?

The passion this bloke has for Bury FC is inspiring.

If you watch nothing else today watch this bloke describe how no one cared about one of the “little clubs”.

...and were punished as a result. So why do they need another metric ton (or is it tonne) of flesh?
Also he quotes 'previous owners'. So why not go after him, not the club?

Might be a bit of a problem!??
The ground has been unused since August 2019, when Bury FC was expelled from the English Football League. In November 2020, the club was placed in administration and Gigg Lane was put up for sale in May 2021 by the administrator.
A fan group known as Est 1885 says it has signed an agreement to buy Bury FC, along with its intellectual property, trading name, history and assets.
A spokesperson for the group said it hoped the club would be reinserted into the footballing pyramid in time for the 2022/23 season.
Image this…….No wonder the Bury MP spoke with so much passion.

Also just watched the debate in the Commons today & very grateful to all bar one present for the sentiments expressed. Particular kudos to Margaret Beckett, who I gather had her late husband's funeral only last week but spoke with eloquent fury in the Chamber & the Bury North MP who emotionally articulated the devastation of the town post the demise of Bury FC.
Obviously the Boro MP was always going to blindly trot out the propaganda & wilfully ignored the fact that the architects of the 'cheating' are no longer at the club & that the club in being in administration is not in a position to defend itself. He should be ashamed of himself.
I think the exercise was definitely worthwhile in terms of letting the EFL know the spotlight is firmly on them & serving notice that their putrid & petulant regime is coming to an end with the adoption of an independent regulator. The time honoured tactic of faceless bureaucrats, "we're just following the rules" has been extinguished by the clear call from the Minister for a pragmatic solution.
Lets hope the public scrutiny starts banging some heads together.

    Well they've done something apparently:
     18 January 2022  Richard Cawley
Millwall have ended their attempts to sign Derby County’s Louie Sibley after the club’s administrators told them the midfielder is not for sale. The Lions were keen on a deal for the 20-year-old and tabled a fourth offer of £450,000 for Sibley this week.
But Derby’s administrators Quantuma have indicated that the player, under contract until 2024, will not be moving on in this window. Millwall have moved on to pursuing other targets.

I listened to that grinding my teeth but frankly none of that was any real surprise from an American businessman. There was always zero chance of him just going "yeah, you're probably right, I'll withdraw our action". Culturally legal action is taken at the drop of a hat and he won't give a rats ass about tradition and history or fans and local businesses. As much if not more than Gibson this guy would happily see us extinguished without giving it a 2nd thought.
Fundamentally though both he and Gibbo seem to be under the impression that there is a pot of money that we can dip into to make this go away. The only pots of money belong to people who have not yet agreed to take on a financial basket case of a club and that is borderline worth already. Meanwhile our playing assets are at risk and that would further degrade the potential value. Honestly, I just have no idea how this end. I was delighted to see the raising of the profile earlier in parliament but the radio silence from Administrators is rather worrying.
