Considering that just ten months back we were on the verge of handing the club to Kirchner, had five players under contract and no pre season the results and performances so far this season are to quote a well known ex-manager from these parts as “simply remarkable”.
Whats kept this club going over the last eighteen months has been the relationship between the supporters the different management teams and the encouragement towards players, the all in this together, never give up, fight to the end attitude that has served us well.
Personally I will not be criticising the present management, previous managers, or any players who’ve been working their socks off and have decided to stay or sign for this club in extraordinary times whatever the outcome this season.
……….mind you, next season I’ll be back to normal, giving it both barrels big time and look forward to contributing to the reincarnated scapegoat of the week thread! 🐏😃

    pinched from elsewhere

Having been slapped with a five-month ban by the Blues, the 60-year-old’s enforced match-day disconnect has sunk him to the lowest point in his life.
“At half-time, with it being a Her Game Too fixture, I walked into the passageway which leads to the female toilets – not the actual toilets - and joked with him “I identify as a woman”.
‘Then a lady came out of the toilets and told me to get out – which I did.
‘I wasn’t drunk, I’d had a few, but I can hold my drink and was coherent. I was able to have a conversation with the police and the stewards which then came up to me.
Subsequently issued with a fourth ban of the campaign, The Petersfield Bookshop owner is now barred from every Pompey match, friendly and reserve fixture until August 11.
Westwood is charged with driving the minibus to Derby this weekend, ferrying 15 of his friends for Pompey’s last away trip of a disappointing campaign.
Yet while his fellow fans will be attending Pride Park, he will take residence in the Navigation Inn, a 10-minute walk from the stadium.

I was reading the clickbait thread about Pride Park a few weeks back, and it got me thinking.
The area where I sit/stand, is pretty grubby to be honest.
Cobwebs and years of grime baked into the surroundings, I've often thought of taking some cleaning wipes in and giving it a good going over, but matchday probably isn’t the time to do it.
The summer break though, could be the perfect time!
We could show our appreciation, by devoting a few hours of our time one weekend of the clubs choosing, and descend on PP on mass with our dusters, polish and swiffers.
Sunderland did something similar, when they engaged volunteer fans to fit new seats, so it is possible.
Maybe the club could utilise us in a different way, as they see fit.
Even if only 1% of ST Holders responded to the cause, that would still be 200 people. Pledge 4 hours each, and that's 800 hours of free labour, more than enough I'd have thought to get the place spick and span.
We could bring our own materials, and take away the used products, to save the club even having to hire disposal facilities or purchase equipment.
Get the tannoy playing out some tunes, to keep us entertained whilst working, and we could have a great community day out, helping in a practical way the club we all love.
We can't match the owners financial commitment to the club obviously, but we can show how much we appreciate his involvement by using our free time to help the club.
    What do you guys think?
Maybe @angieram could sound out the Ramstrust membership, to see if there's any merit in the idea?

“As things currently stand each Championship club, not in receipt of parachute payments, receives about £5-6million from the TV pot. The equivalent in League One is like £800,000 to £1million.”
“The deal at the minute means each Championship club will get around £6million from the TV pot, obviously you can top that up a little bit with the number of times teams are on TV because each individual match has a fee for the club which you can add on.”
The other area where Sunderland could make financial gains in the Championship is through comercial deals and increased matchday attendances.
Around a £8-10million difference would be a realistic benchmark for a club like Sunderland to get out of League One and into the Championship.”
Regardless of any alterations or not to the clubs business plan any opportunity to get out of this league must be taken asap! 👍

    Hi all,
Thanks for all the kind words. They are always massively appreciated, and I will pass them on to the team.
Regards the 21s coverage, we’ve been extremely limited by the number of games we can show this season by Premier League scheduling conflicts & home team consent, and unfortunately the RamsTV team is smaller than ever, which all combined has meant it hasn’t been possible to broadcast many fixtures. Hopefully we’ll be able to show more next season.
Happy to answer any questions, as always.

    Cheers!

I thought the same initially but this league is difficult to get out of and we may hang on to some of our youngsters with promotion, it should be easier to attract quality free agents, it may be possible for Bielik to spend season with us (depending offers we may get snd wages obviously) and looking at some of the issues with championship club finances we may be looking at points deductions for some clubs next season which would help. Just get out ASAP

I feared for Conor when he was taken off before half time vs Fleetwood.
I couldn't see a way back for him, I felt it was disrespectful for Warne to make the change then, rather than wait until half time. Humiliating, and unnecessary.
He could have sulked, but instead he's got his head down, worked his socks off and shown how valuable he can be in recent weeks, I think he's been one of our best players in this run.
    Well done to him.

While we are all in a good mood following the win at Exeter and over the next 2/3 weeks filling this website with our opinions of our next 3 performances, can I take this opportunity to have an early shout out for RAMS TV.
Over the last turbulent couple of years the one thing that has remained a quality constant has been Rams TV, providing us with a professional, objective assessment of our matches (take note Radio Derby). I remember Owen Bradley occasionally commentating on Radio Derby and thought how good and informative he was at the time. He has risen to new heights over the last couple of years and (despite a few dodgy suits) is perfect for Rams TV,  keeping his commentary succinct and to the point. Shaun Barker is the perfect foil and his professional insight is well worth listening to - I can  “see what he was trying to do there” being his catchphrase. Getting Owen to Rams TV a was probably the best decision Mel Morris made during his time in charge!
Obviously, they are the frontmen for a quality team in the background and well done to all the nameless helpers in producing a great service.
So personally, thank you Owen & Shaun for your fantastic work. Hopefully, every one else who appreciates your work will show that by “Loving” this post in a mark of respect, as I know you do read this website.

Rallied well second half, after a lethargic and aimless first 45. I think the players are as baffled by some of our tactics, as I am, but there is clearly a togetherness amongst the playing group. Good win. We really have to win our next 2. 3 games against the Wendies will be lovely. Then a nice day out in north west London in late May. Sheep!

Old Spalding Ram reacted to Ram-Alf in Paul Warne appointed as Head Coach
The majority of our squad was brought in by LR to play a possession game, The owner turned to PW who has a different ethic or appears to have than LRs.
PW is on record as saying the players have bought into his method...well...they're not going to say anything else really are they 🤷‍♀️
We've been told it's a family thing with the players, They all get on, I would imagine Sibley has fallen out with the head of the family since his 2 goals against Oxford, Hourihane not happy being subbed on HT against Fleetwood, Barkhuizen not sure whether he's going to start, Forsyth lost his place to young Rooney...I don't think it's all sweetness and candy at Moor Farm and it won't be until PW gets his men in and moves others out.
The PR we're being fed has worked to a degree as PW comes across as honest as can be, His halo slipped a little after the BR game and "feel cheated" comment, The pressure if there's any is starting to surface, And when that happens mistakes will be made.
It's about time others started to be on the score sheet other than McGoldrick

For sure. Warne seemed to be cooking up a lovely stew for a while, then he ran out of the chicken (Bird) and it became a bit of an Irish Stew with Knight, Hourihane, Collins and McGoldrick in there….I’ve lost the analogy I was building on top of yours, sorry! 😆
I share the frustrations with how Warne has utilised the squad at times, I’m just a bit more objective in how it makes me feel overall I guess. I can see what he’s trying to do at times, and I’m baffled by what he’s doing at others. There are points this season when he’s got it right, there are times he’s got it very very wrong. I’m sort of sat on the fence a bit about the whole thing, still Warne in and want him to have time, but growing concerns about his tactical stubbornness/limitations.

You won’t be treated like animals by us, we’re just grateful to be playing clubs like Derby. We’re used to Barnet, Hartlepool, Rochdale, etc so are still rubbing our eyes in disbelief when clubs bring more than 200 fans. But we also rub our eyes in disbelief when we see aeroplanes, so it’s not that big a compliment.
    Anyway, enjoy your day out!

    something like this makes sense.
If it’s to be 3 central defenders then Knight and Sibley as wing backs makes more sense.
Mendez-Laing & Barkhuizen operating as wing backs really is “one step beyond”
