Although likely b*******, we've been mentioned alongside Bolton in pursuit of Carlos Borges. He's supposedly been to see Moor Farm today, again, unsubstantiated internet nonsense.

With that being said, however, I would be absolutely delighted if it turns out to be the case. Not if he goes Bolton, of course, that would be s****.

Pinched from the Manchester Evening News regards Borges

The highlight of his season so far has been the fact he has now bagged three hat-tricks. The first came in the UEFA Youth League against Sevilla, the second versus a senior Derby County side in the EFL Trophy and the latest in the Under-21 Manchester derby on Saturday. The Portuguese actually bagged four times and set up another in the 6-1 rout of Manchester United, showing blistering speed and a clinical edge to repeatedly punish the neighbours on the counterattack and turn an even game into a whitewash.

played only 10 matches all season, still only 18, unfortunately no chance.

………..huge signing for anyone who gets this kid on loan.

If we could get that Borges lad from Man City on loan, what a step up in quality he is from Osula. He destroyed us and would absolutely rip up this league. Fairy tale, he helps to get us promoted then we get him back again next season in the Championship.

  3. Good piece in The Times from chief sports reporter David Walsh regards sitting in the away end with his Cambridge United supporting son at Pride Park on Friday night.

“It would have been a tough watch on TV. Among the Cambridge fans, listening to the back-and-forth between rival supporters was worth the £20 everyone in the away end had paid for their ticket. “Nottingham Forest, they’re laughing at you,” chanted the U’s crowd. “There’s a team in our league, Forest Green Rovers, and they’re bigger than you,” came the reply. Yep, 1-0 to Derby.”

    ……………nice one.

  4. We signed six players, Collins, Smith, McGoldrick, Mendez-Laing, Hourihane and Chester, anyone of which would probably get into any other team in this league.

We’ve managed to keep Knight, Bird, Cashin,  Sibley, Davies, Thompson, Stearman and Forsyth.

We’ve signed youngsters Oduroh, Rooney plus Dobbin, Osula and Roberts on loan.

We signed three keepers including Wildsmith who is my player of the season.

Considering that just a few months back we were on the verge of handing the club to Kirchner, had five players under contract and no pre season the performances so far are to quote a well known ex manager of this famous football club “nothing short of remarkable”.

Happy New Year to all Ramsfans and……………………Thank you David Clowes.

Started reading this at 2pm today and got to page 79 by 4:30; it’s beautifully written & I thought I already knew a lot about Derby County history BUT …I have learned so much. If you haven’t yet got it I would seriously get it and read it. It’s brilliant.

Btw …& no reflection on the book, who took the corner v Palace when we got promoted - the one which Robbie van der Laan headed in. Was it:

    a. Paul Simpson

    b. Sean Flynn

    c. Ron Willems

    Halcyon days.

Answer, courtesy of the BBC……………..and Graham Richards!

  6. In the Championship Norwich have just sacked their manager whilst in 5th place, Swansea City in 16th place are one of 12 teams only 3 points behind Norwich.

Burnley and Sheffield United seem well clear which leaves 14 clubs with a dream of the promised land (sound familiar) with some rather large egos masquerading as club chairman amongst that lot with their fans looking for a bit of fresh blood to boost their promotion push.

………..personally if Knight, Cashin, Bird and Sibley are still here at the end of January then I’d be absolutely chuffed!

  7. I must admit the referee was poor.  The fact that he had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the VAR screen to see a prime example of common assault on Mason Mount says quite a bit about Sampaio!??
