Wsm-ram reacted to Big Trav in So who would we have then?
Want to clear up any confusion. Meeting took place this morning. I have no idea what was said. My source has told me things have been off for weeks. They expect that he won’t last till the international break

There's no way he can stay.
If I owned the club and there were no fans to consider, I'd give him another month to make the squad gel and decide at the end of November whether to sack him or give him until April. The season is still salvageable and it's normal for teams to struggle with such a high turnover.
The problem is he's lost the fans. Now failure is guaranteed. The atmosphere in the dressing room will be difficult enough, but as soon as things go a bit wrong on the pitch, the players will really struggle to cope with the toxic atmosphere in the ground. Under those circumstances, team cohesion dissappears, the players become overly cautious and their energy levels drop.
Warne could be saved by a good run, but the hostility of the fanbase will make that impossible. Players get paid a fortune because, to people like us, football is so much more than 22 men kicking a bag of wind around. We spend our cash because we care. Football needs emotional attachment, and it's a facet of that which makes Warne's position untenable.
It's best for everyone if he goes now.

Emergency meeting happened this morning, got the vibe from my source that were going to be looking for a new manager soon

I can't believe he's still here. The only hope is that someone said Clowes never makes quick decisions, but always takes a weekend to think about them.
Before the season, and looking at the woeful quality in the division, I was of the opinion anything less than automatic promotion would be seriously underperforming, given the resources at Warne's disposal. It's only October, but automatics are already gone and people are talking about us getting into the playoffs. The magnitude of Warne's failure is staggering. And there is no indication whatsoever that the football will improve - no green shoots where fans can see a way forward.
Keeping him looks as if it will consign us to several years in Leagues One or Two, as it will simply be a case of managed decline. Given that, Clowes is likely asking himself "was it worth it?" Everyone thinks they will make good decisions and see the team they own rise up the leagues. But the adage about making a small fortune by buying a football club is a truism. Having entered the game, Clowes has put himself in a terrible position where whatever he does likely loses him and his family even more money. But by sticking with Warne, this loss looks all but certain. Twisting and rolling the dice again, at least gives him a chance.

Yeah I more or less agree. It either needs to be a short term person who's going to give fast success or somebody putting the building blocks in place for more sustainable progress.
The only thing I somewhat disagree with is I don't think keeping warne is treading water. I think it's a slow, gradually slide backwards.
We are in a worse position on many fronts than when he took over.

My Mrs says she doesn’t want to go anymore, despite having a season ticket. We have both been ST holders for many years but neither of us is impressed with the anti football that Warne seems to want his team to play. How many others feel this way? How many young potential ST holders will drift away to the red side of the A52?
We are Derby I hear at every home game, it’s in our DNA. Yet I see very little on the pitch that reminds me of our great traditions of attractive passing football.
I will still be going to every home game but more in hope than expectation. Until Warne is gone I can’t see things changing anytime soon. I was shocked and surprised that LR wasn’t given more time, I already think that PW has been given too much time. The damage he is doing to our club will be long standing if he is allowed to continue in his job for very much longer.

I’m Warne Out (sounds like an AA meeting!)
I don’t believe David will sack him and his merry entourage whilst there is still an outside chance of the play offs.
David knows the autos are probably gone now. It would take a huge turnaround in performances and results.
The problem will come in January, if we still have a chance, would David trust him with any sort of transfer budget and would David veto selling of any our younger players such as bird, cashin. If not we could end up with a team full of aging journeymen playing Div 3 style football.
I want success for DCFC, but also want a team of players and coaches that I can believe in and have more passion about than I do right now.

What about Fornah? Unsure why, if we did have a soft underbelly yesterday, he didn’t give this lad some minutes? It was his one and only midfield signing.

Why sad? I don’t get why it’s sad.
He’s dragging our beloved club to its knees and he’s hiding from the facts.
He needs to walk away from a club that’s already had a rough 3 years. But instead he will wait to have a good proportion of his remaining 3 years paid off and walk straight into another job.
Please don’t feel sad, feel mad instead.

We shouldn't have someone who thinks like this at the Club.

He’s going to go. It’s just a matter of when. There is no way back for him now. And I get the “let the emotions settle” etc etc but he just has to go. And I don’t see the benefit of waiting. Just going to get worse if that’s even possible. Sick of his excuses and sick of the crap p*** poor performances that the fans are having to endure. He has performed so so badly in his job, get him gone. Can’t afford to sack him? Can’t afford to keep him. No play offs and the youngsters go and so do the fans. Never ever wished this before but a loss on Tuesday to see the back of Warne and I’d take it

I've had enough now. I'm getting to the stage where I don't even want to watch us play. Been watching them regularly since 1965.......Worst team I've ever seen

Comes across as a c*** on the radio digging out and blaming everyone but himself and his s*** coaching, tactics and overall management style. Get him gone and let's try to rescue our season.

It’s fine to like him I’m sure he’s a good person but he’s Certainly not a good manager.

That was an embarrassment, his position is now completely untenable. Please Derby do it today, we need someone in by Tuesday.

He’s got to go, we’ve gone alarmingly backwards this season and you just can’t see any improvement in any area whatsoever.

That’s the talk even if we won today.
Clowes hasn’t been happy and I dont think the relationship is what it was.

Let’s be sensible about this.
we have not improved at all since Warne came in in my opinion - does anyone disagree?
Warne has brought in at least 12 players at great expense as well this season - have we improved? Not a jot in my opinion
Why is anyone expecting us to suddenly play any decent football and improve
in all the games this season in the league we have deserved to win one game outright and that was a poor Exeter side - our tactics are woeful if we even have any and you can forget trying to work out where our players are trying to play in these bizarre desperate formations
