The word “annoy” is little weak to describe my reaction, but I didn’t want to start a new topic.

I feel a new level of rage and heartbreak when I see a story about someone abandoning a dog.

there was a story in Stoke a few months back, then last week, a dog found tied to a tree hidden from view near Ashbourne and today, I saw a story about cctv footage showing a woman over in Portland driving to the woods, letting her dog out, pretending to run towards the woods to walk it, then running back to her car and driving off, whilst the dog stands there wagging it’s tail.

If i could type the words I feel, @David would be wielding his ban hammer!

I’m not to macho to admit that these stories make me shed a tear ??

Having to have our little dog put out of his misery this afternoon....only 11 years old, poor guy has cancer all over the place and is now really struggling with It...absolutely heartbreaking....
it’s amazing how quickly you forget about the trainers he chewed, the poop he left on the Brand new basement carpet (after It has been installed less than 30 seconds), the times he ran off chasing god knows what in the woods, how dirty he could get from seemingly nowhere, how he could bring back half of the beach attached to his paws, begging for treats, ravenously eating the bacon fat then 3 seconds later throwing It back up (always on the carpet), how he would run off and hide every time I put the football on the TV because he hated hearing me shout at It...etc etc etc
we will miss you so much you goof ball...

the reason I have used that photo....the guy on It is my best friend, a massive red dog...just thought It would cheer me up knowing he was on the DCFC forum..!

Some of the comments on here are just ridiculous plain and simple.
Can't people get it into their heads the reason he was sacked?
Some on here have now turned into ducking Quincy ( a medical examiner tv show for those kids out there).
I was one of Keoghs biggest fans and couldn't believe the stick this bloke has had to take over the years.
BUT, HE refused to go home when the majority of the players had sense to do so and kept on drinking.
HE, then got into a car where the driver was with him all night also drinking!! (what, you think Lawrence had 2 pints then went on J20's for the rest of the ducking night) FFS.
HE was offered a taxi and refused.
He was offered a reduced contract to stay at the club, HE REFUSED. The club have then every right to sack him through GM as he is unable to continue what he was contracted to do. If any one of us was on a fixed contract to do a job and we did something like this and wasn't able to continue working for 15 months do you really think your employers would even offer a new contract to you?.. NOT A CHANCE!!, you'd be sacked.
Trying to tie in Lawrence and Bennett doesn't work, yes they were stupid but even they had the brains to put the belt on. They have been charged to the full extent the law allows and punished by the club. They can still carry on what they are contracted to do, Keogh can't. All 3/4 were stupid, only Keogh was more stupid and it's cost him his job.
Folks trying to defend him, saying we don't know what happened, no we prob don't know the whole truth and on that basis how do you know Keogh wasn't pissing about in the back and caused Lawrence to crash??, it works both ways you know.

I seem to recall a newspaper article saying that MM was keeping the Club afloat to the tune of £3M a month.
In that context, is the Club really going to countenance paying a player £25k per week to not play possibly ever again for 15 months when the injury was completely self-inflicted?
Some have claimed that MM makes the “wrong decisions” because his heart rules his head. I’d say this is clear evidence that it is not true. it’s a decision made in the best interests of Derby County.

For everyone slating the club about morals, this keogh decision was not about that. The incident was a police matter and so it has been dealt with by the police. Nothing the club can really do. The decision to sack Keogh was purely a business decision that makes perfect sense. Why should the club continue to pay a ridiculous amounts of money to a person who won't be playing for another year. Now there must be more to this than meets the eye but they offered him a contract on reduced wages and he declined. The club has been put in a difficult situation here, I don't see what they could have done differently.

    hi all
As soon as the details of the 'accident' were made public I inwardly predicted this.  Here's my take for what it's worth:
DCFC is a workplace just like any other.  The evening was a club event and therefore he was 'on duty' as Club Captain.  As Club Captain, he not only refused the offer of transport after consuming alcohol (why players at this level think they should be consuming ANY alcohol in midweek is another question for another day, I don't think that top tennis players or athletes drink alcohol during the competition season!!!), he chose to remain with two younger players and consume even more alcohol, much more apparently.  In doing so he incapacitated himself, thus rendering himself unable to fulfil his workplace function of ensuring the well being of the younger players, and then allowed them to drive drunk (unbelievable!!!) and endanger both themselves and members of the public.  He therefore has to carry the can for the whole incident.  His was the 'controlling mind' (I believe that is the legal term) and he is the architect of his own downfall.  He has no one to blame but himself.
I wish him well, I thank him for all his efforts, time to draw a line and move on.  If the club reach an out of court settlement then fine, as long as it doesn't cost too much, the PFA can negotiate that I'm sure.  He let the club and himself down, and if I were Mel Morris I would do exactly the same.  Sean Barker, Thorne, Fozzy etc are all completely different cases, and the club showed loyalty to them.
Sorry if that sounds harsh to some but I don't see how he can really complain TBH.
