Definitely not. It's not even the most exciting league in England. I prefer the Championship.

As @Van der MoodHoover has indicated above, McMahon felt that he was supreme in dishing it out.
He tried in on at the BBG once too often, when Mickey Lewis decided enough was enough. Timing his tackle fairly, McMahon was still on the floor as Mickey nonchalantly walked away. Strangely McMahon was anonymous for the remainder of the game…..!
Glyn Davies and Frank Upton could also look after themselves- ask the Wendies, January 1959 away.
Geraint Williams also sorted Mel Sterland out when he tried it on at Hillsborough, similar to McMahon.

This fella would never shirk a challenge in either of his spells. Definitely had a feisty streak but I wouldn't say a thug.
    Same with Adam Bolder too.
But as has been said, we've never had a whole team of hard men and our lack of them at certain had probably been a detrement. It's never been our main tactic, even under Billy when we had a solid core that could mix it (Moore, Johnson, Howard) they were balanced out with some very decent footballers (Leacock, Jones, Lupoli)

But you do give Warne credit for the job he’s done this season?

    I repeat
    - record points
    - record away wins
    - joint record wins in a season for dcfc
    - best defensive record in the EFL

Yes? Or are the above just to be ignored

It seems that the vast majority of his signings get off to a sluggish start. Then, after a period of time their performances improve considerably.
Proves that as a coach he is more than capable and is ability to get his message across to the players.
He couldn't get a tune out of Kane, Ward, Sonny at first and then they contributed significantly. Sibs and Tommo got better as the season went on also.
Proves that we have a strong coaching outfit at DCFC
I fully expect CBT to hit the ground running next season as will Elder

Just seems a weird way to try and, presumably save money. The 3rd keeper is realistically never playing, so having one who is experienced, good with younger players, good in the dressing room, trains well, is comfortable with his role, has coaching aspirations and is cheap surely seems a pretty smart thing to have.

I'm struggling to get my head round the "get rid of CBT" posts.
Agreed, he hasn't apart from Pompey and one cameo sub appearance, done much for us, YET. However, the lad was carrying an injury when he joined us. How do you expect a player who's not 100% right, physically, to be brilliant?

He was carrying an injury when we signed him. Played well against Pompey giving us a glimpse of what he can do. Given rest now to get fully over the injury and then a full pre season should see him back to his best. If he's as good for us as he was for Charlton, no way should we let go.

Give the guy a chance, he was not fit, and took a while to settle in! We have seen a little of what he can do, and I'm sure with a full pre season he will be an asset next season.
Any chance to have a dig with some people...

    Why?

He is a good player. Injuries meant he never got a clear run at it but I never saw anything to suggest he wasn’t up to it. He had one shakey moment in one of the earlier matches but since then every sub appearance he was solid. It was only the excellent form of Sibley keeping him out by the end.

I certainly think the back 5 is the area we need to mess with least. The 6 in front need some real reinforcements.

    Why must people agree? I’ve seen enough of him the last 2 seasons to say he’s got pretty good technique, his heading technique is good, his penalty technique is good, a number of his goals show very good technique with both feet and his mid-riff, here’s a selection of them from this season;
I agree we would benefit from a younger option in the squad but the discredit levelled at Collins never makes sense to me. If we had Collins as a central striker supported by capable players out wide and a creative 10/8 behind him he’d still score plenty. He’s scored the number of goals he has in his career (215 in senior club football) because of his technique, it’s more likely to be his lack of pace and athleticism that’s stopped him succeeding at a higher level (and caused him to often be caught offside).
I always think it’s possible to say we need new signings without being completely dismissive of our current players and their contributions.

    I would agree with those who feel the majority of this squad needs to be retained into next season. The biggest mistake promoted teams can make is to destroy the fabric of the side that has achieved success - quality of course needs to be added but the DNA/character of the dressing room is not easily built, its that intangible that can drag out vital results & I feel will be necessary for a tough upcoming season. I also believe Warne will need a big squad to compete given the physical demands he places on players. With that in mind;
    Release
Waghorn, Hourihane. I also would not offer John-Jules a contract
    1 year deals
Forsyth, Korey Smith, Barkhuizen, Gayle, Collins
    2 year deals
    Wildsmith, Sibley, Thompson
I've noticed many would release Forsyth, Gayle & Smith but I would retain all 3. Firstly, Forsyth is an extremely useful utility player & makeshift CB - he is not easily replaced at all. I saw enough of Dwight Gayle to realise that he still retains plenty of quality & movement and the way he meshed with Mendez-Laing & Barkhuizen gave me confidence he could be a gamechanger still at Championship level. Given we're likely to be playing on the counter attack against better quality opposition, Gayle seems ideally suited to how we'd be looking to play. Lastly, we have a massive hole in midfield with Bird, Adams & likely Hourihane leaving - Korey Smith is a steady option to keep some continuity there, the lad can play & of course has significant Championship experience.
Keeping this squad would enable us to target resources at the 4/5 quality players we need to improve the overall standard of the first team without wasting time looking for squad depth because we'll already have it. Primary focus for me will be for first team starters down the spine of our team - in central midfield (enforcer & conductor), two centre forwards & one centre half.
    Evolution not revolution.

Follow that by he is about to come into the peak age for a GK. I’m trying to get my head around why people want him gone. He has saved us a lot more times than he has cost us.

Wildsmith is one to keep, in my opinion. Anything else would seem counter-intuitive.
He’s been part of a strong defence and kept twenty clean sheets. He’s been first choice for us for the past two years. He deserves a shot at being a Championship regular. Crucially too he won’t demand the same wages as keepers like Rodak and Ryan with higher level experience.
OK, yes, upgrade on players when you can. But in our position we’ll need to prioritise where money is spent and goalkeeper would not be a top priority.
Surely if we can extend Wildsmith’s deal and spend funds elsewhere, it makes the most sense?

I really don't get this thing with Wildsmith. He's not the perfect keeper by any means, but he has just kept 20 clean sheets in a season. Yes, a lot of that is down to the players in front of him, but he still made some very important saves to keep the score at nil. Many seem to remember more his mistakes rather than his saves. If we were looking to sign a keeper who had just kept 20 clean sheets in a season in the league below us then most people would be all over it.
