Exactly surely at this stage in the season and the position we're in people can park the hokey-cokeyness of their opinion on Warne aside until the season has concluded. It's like saying shoot the horse when it's neck and neck when it's coming on to the final straight.

You do realise that a lot of 'peak' train fares are priced to actively discourage us great unwashed to use them?
I also take issue with the term 'politically motivated strikes'. I'd say not having a pay rise in 3 or 4 years with inflation at 10%+ (and more for food) has f*** all to do with politics. The TOC's (under the guise of the Ministry of Transport, but say it quietly) is also trying to change the drivers T&C's such that they can change their shift start/end time by +/- SIX hours at short notice (I believe its current +/- three hours).
For balance, I've no connection whatsoever to the rail industry, any union or a political party, I'd just like to see a more even society, where the boss doesn't earn the bog cleaners entire wage by lunchtime on 2nd January.

Can't disagree that we were poorly run, as is pretty much every club it the owners should fall on hard times or pull the plug.
The other clubs in the Championship received funding from the EFL to help with cash flow problems post Covid, we didn't and were forced to take out loans at ridiculous interest rates.
I don't know as I am not a commercial property valuer. But one of the most highly respected commercial property valuers believed that given its potential it was worth £80m.
From the findings of the IDC it was valued even higher than that but the EFL asked us to reduce the valuation, which we duly did only to then be charged with using the EFLs recommended valuation.
The sale of the ground, and the way that it was covered up and not disclosed to the fans, is the thing that irks me most, especially when there was a fans forum and neither Morris or Pearce thought it was worthy of mention.

To the first question I'd just put this up as an example as to what I'm talking about.
on the amortisation policy, my brother-in-law who worked as a senior accountant at a major firm described it to me as crooked and dangerous as a policy. He spotted it as a red flag immediately when he read reports of it tbh. Now I tend to trust his judgement in these matters as he's highly regarded in his field.

On the third point I'd like him to show some f****** contrition. He's somehow been kept on a six figure salary after playing a significant role in almost killing the club. I don't think I've ever heard him even apologise for his role in this. When he's asked about his role in the media I don't think it's good enough for him to say he'd rather not talk about it. Given what the club and the fans went through it strikes me as exceedingly arrogant that he believes he can simply pretend it never happened.

It should be straight forward TO Barnsley .But getting home is the problem ,EVERY time I go to Oakwell the return journey is mad .Starts by the lovely South Yorkshire p**s ,sorry police Kettling us all in for around 30 minutes ,then cramming everyone on one train ,causing overcrowding .Not fair on the public travelling and not attending football, the train calls at Meadowhall as well ,so Saturday afternoon shoppers get a shock .
Surely with 5000(a large number travelling by rail)) Rams fans a football special would be an advantage for footy fans, train staff, the local c**tsabulary and the general public?

Although fans views are much needed on all matters relating to their experience on a matchday I'm not quite sure this survey will lead to anything but merely a box ticking exercise by the DFT/RDG. Surely the rail industry knows that a lot of the same viewpoints that will be expressed on this survey are not solely defined by just football fans but by regular commuters, day trippers, concert/event goers and the concerns will be primarily cost, capacity, timetable, rail experience. Even if there were 2000 survey responses asking for more special trains there will be a cat in hells chance it will come to fruition.
The rail strikes recently have really showed as a country how very little we know of the structure of our railways other than our own rider experience. Like many of our public services it is totally demoralised and on it's knees due to corporate greed, outsourcing, political ball kicking/inexperience and in general a total lack of long term planning.
Specifically for attending football matches via train we are million miles away from the likes of Germany who usually include local matchday travel with your ticket or Switzerland where football clubs actually have dedicated supporter rolling stock.

And they still haven't fully paid the fine the EFL gave them for breaking FFP the season they beat us at Wrmbley.
Been treated very kindly in comparison to us, imo.

They don’t have extra carriages, that’s the problem with privatisation. They get paid regardless of crap service or not.  The operators/investor's even get paid when the staff are out on strike.
We need it back in public ownership and then capacity can be expanded.
Regarding Footie Specials, if the idiots on the white powder can behave themselves then it would be a welcome return.  There’s a lot of older stock being replaced soon on the EMR so maybe thought could be put into keeping some for that?
But, again, there’s probably nowhere to store the extra trains at the moment as infrastructure has been cut right back.
I think at least one political party has vowed to nationalise them again.

Night games are the worst if like me, you live 100+ miles from Derby. Basically a non-starter.

The club have previously talked about a 4 year plan, and Pearce spoke about 'phases' on Tuesday. It aligns withthe 4 year contract Warne was given too. If we take years to be phases then we have:
    1. Challenge for the Playoffs (we finished 1 point off 6th)
    2. Challenge for automatics (we're currently 2nd on pts, 3rd on ppg)
    3. Avoid relegation from the Championship
    4. Midtable in the Championship
Based on Warne's primary objective, he'll be meeting expectations.
You can judge him on other objectives if you want (such as youth progression, style of play, etc), but the primary objective is king. Exceeding in those secondary objectives would likely buy a maanger more time if struggling with the primary, but that appears to be the risk Warne wants to take.

Some of our defending last night was very impressive and should be appreciated in the same way as good offensive moves. Sadly, it seldom is.

This one has really hit me hard. Celebrity deaths don't do that normally.
I've been trying to figure out why.
I think it's because he has just been a constant presence all my life , chatting away in the background in the kitchen. I was just listening to his show Sunday morning. Who knew he was almost 70? He still sounded like he was 30.
Whatever misery was going on in the world his shows always brought a smile. I remember hanging out with my mates on the school playing field, all of us trying to copy his Mr Angry character back in the 80s.
I guess his voice takes me back to those childhood times of footy in the park and back home for tea at 5pm on the dot or there would be hell to pay.
His death reminds me of the parents I have lost and those incredible childhood friendships  I'll never have again.
    Rest well Steve.
