Boycie reacted to Ken Tram in People without tickets - where are you watching?
Anyone without tickets watching somewhere in and around London?

Boycie reacted to Bob The Badger in People without tickets - where are you watching?
I'm going to sign up for Sky Sports and then cooling off a few days later as per my legal right and will be watching at home here in Cornwall with Mrs Badger.
I was tempted to drive up and spend time with @Eatonram and some other mates before and after the match. But watching them go off to the game would just result in some unseemly begging and offering favours in the toilet for tickets, again.
COYR!

Mel Morris used to own my house. The first owner when it was built in 1980 was Dave Swindlehurst.

Boycie reacted to LN747 in Derby v Carlisle tickets wanted
Ooooh, harsh - 18 away games and 6 home this season the only plastic i can smell is my credit card burning☺️
Just didn't think i couldn't get the Cambridge weekend and Carlisle weekend off work - think there are lots in a similar position - plus the time change threw a few people
But agreed , hope everyone can get in...
At least we dont have hundreds of tourists like those prem clubs😄

Boycie reacted to Mucker1884 in Retirement thread
At 61, my life is very much geared to a happy/successful retirement... Marriage and hobbies in particular, but also health, social life, family etc.
The problem for me lies solely on the financial side. All the above can only continue with my current income (and a bit of savings), so I really don't envisage retiring any time soon!
(House is basic at best, but has been long paid for, and tidy enough, so we have that security at least, I guess.)
I was always very blasé about private pensions etc... In truth, with my family history/genes, I truly didn't expect to be here this long! (Both mum & dad failed to reach their 50's!). Just my luck I'm as fit as a fiddle! 🤣
Hey. I'm very much a "Take each day as it comes/what will be will be" kind o' guy, and that ain't gonna change now, so I'll plod on, and see what happens.
Best of luck to all of you who have retired recently and/or are about to.
I won't call you lucky, as I'm sure you've earned it, but I won't deny there's a teeny bit of envy/regret creeping in now I'm almost "at that age"! (But only on this subject... no regrets elsewhere!)
Enjoy... yer owd buggers! 😁🍻

Boycie reacted to admira in Retirement thread
Moving from my lifelong home in Suffolk to Derbyshire to be nearer our team is on the agenda for next year.
I might have to learn to speak to strangers though, not natural behavior in these parts!

I’m 78 this year and retired in 2011. I worked on British Aid projects in developing countries mainly in Africa but I’ve carried on doing odd bits since. But only one visit a year now, the whole airport experience can get a bit much and 2 weeks in, say, Nigeria, is enough for me now.

3 more days for me and then I'm done; giving it all up at 58 so a fair few years early.
Any tips and advice from those that have done it? I've worked full time since I was 16 so I know it's going to be life changing but unsure what to expect!

Clowes needs to send a tweet out now! What is he waiting for? This is pure corruption, he is just too scared to call it out. Terrible owner.

Jesus H 😂
More than anything, though, it is the spoiled and self-entitled response of a club whose owner has a history of this. It is only three years since Olympiakos, also owned by Evangelos Marinakis, criticised the “darkest days of Greek refereeing ever”. A specific target of that criticism was the president of the “central refereeing committee”, who Olympiakos said they were withdrawing “confidence” in. The individual? Mark Clattenburg, who by 2024 Marinakis had enough confidence in to employ as Forest refereeing consultant.

Merlin has Sky. I have a 6 seat table reserved for every home match , good view of tv. Will be having breakfast there before going PP. If anyone wants it to watch match there, let me know. 🐏👍🏻

Boycie reacted to Comrade 86 in David Clowes
It'd be grand if it could be Derby lads (or lasses) retaining full ownership. I think part of football losing its way has been as a result of too many owners who treat clubs like toys for the billionaire boys club. Lose interest and your club that's been around over 100 years is all of a sudden teetering on the edge.
I see Gadsby and even more so, our own David Clowes, as custodian types, as much as owners. Clowes' prime interest was and I think will likely always remain, the longevity and sustainability of the Derby County Football Club. In all honesty, I'm fine with that, though I suspect many won't be.
@Boycie has reminded us that Morris was popular and regarded as 'one of our own' prior to dumping us into admin and he's right. I was very much taken in myself. That said, I can't see any similarities other than their Rams ownership at all. The two men are worlds apart in everything from actions to demeanour. I think it's already safe to assume that Clowes is the owner we needed, arriving precisely when we most needed him to.

If I worked at Forest I’d be up, showered, dressed and out the door already. The office is going to provide unrivalled drama. One of those where you stare at your screen, pretending you’re not listening, but loving every minute of the sideshow
