I didn't think tonight was so bad, against probably the best side in this league.

Cigarette paper between them and us, we came out second best due to an individual mistake.

Think that is an overly positive view. I thought Derby looked really poor. Couldn’t string passes together, individual errors, Another penalty given away. Thought it was a very disappointing performance, no threat at all apart from from 85 mins on wards.

"We were relegated, we know why we were relegated, because of the minus-21 deduction. The main thing is for my personal career and progress because I lost so much time, I am 24, I want to play at a higher level than League One," he said. I never hid it, I was always open, talking about this.

Thought he was disappointed to leave and was only going for a world cup place.  Love how he thanks the medical staff at Birmingham as well for getting him fit and ready. What the f*** have Derby been shelling out for for 2 and a half years.  Another very expensive chancer who doesn't give a s*** we're best clearing out ASAP.  About the last one hopefully

He’s too good for league 1. If he stays fit, he can play in the Premier League or that kind of level. Don’t blame the guy.

Agree no problem at all but the OP was setting up Warne as a man of high morals and dignified behaviour. How does Warne leaving before the end of his current contract demonstrate he is a man of high morals and dignity? It is fair enough but I can't argue high morals and dignity off the back of that.

You can be a man of high morals and take another job earlier than expected. Just business. They will get someone else. He may have had other offers at different times and turned them down before. We will never know.

This is it, I'm stick to death of twisting we've twisted for so many years and look where it has got us? Every time it hasn't been better, it's been pretty much the same with the only difference being the name on the managers parking space and I'm tired of it.

If this was always the plan and LR knew he was only keeping the seat warm then fine BUT if we're just (again) going for another manager because we're not smashing the league I'll be very disappointed.

This club needs stability more than ever and this change (assuming LR was led to believe this role could lead to permanent) just reeks of our old ways, same goals, same desperation of "twisting" on managers to get promoted.

I hope I'm wrong and if/when Warne joins us we stick with him just because we're not bossing the league...

Liam has only been interim manager. I think if LR had been given the job full time and he was being relieved today for another manager then the whole situation looks a bit more desperate as he has not been given time but the plan may have always been for someone else to come in. A big question is do the away performances and form look like they will change anytime soon? If the answer is no (which I assume it is as we look dire), then I think a new manager is the way to go who will bring about something different on the road.

How many games have we played ? 3 points off the top 6. People calling for LR to go. Honeymoon period of celebrating having a team to support didn’t last long ☹️

This away form is depressing. Not acceptable. Don’t know whether LR is the answer. I would be happy to give him more time, the squad may be on the thin side but we should be doing better away from home- not scored a goal yet. It’s worrying and we won’t be staying close to top 6 for long.

I truly hope that the entitled bunch on here, at some point, understand that transitioning from a club staring in to the abyss to one competing at the top of a division may, you know, take a bit of time?

Not entitled to expect better- abject away performances for another season, no goal away from home and outplayed by mediocre teams. I would expect better from out team- something isn’t working. This away form is unacceptable.

He could be the greatest ever goal scorer, but it doesn't mean he'd be the most complete forward of all time.

I think he has so many attributes, he could be. This guy is another level.

8 touches in 73 minutes against Bournemouth, 16 in 83 minutes against Palace, and 16 in 68 minutes vs Forest would suggest he's far from the most complete striker ever.
For example, it's rare to see Kane drop below 35 touches in a game. He made 56 touches when Spurs played Forest.

He has every attribute- strength, speed, power, intelligence and goal scoring ability. He ticks so many boxes he won’t need that many touches to be effective. There is every chance in a decade or so he will be spoken about in the same breath as the greats of all time.

Is he the most complete striker ever? i know its abit early in his career but hes 6ft 5 , really strong , rapid , great heading ability and can score from anywhere ? Has he got a weakness to his game?

No, he’s an incredible player. Best striker in world football for years to come I reckon

It’s all very simple really, just need me in charge of football. Here is my manifesto.

    Keep the FA Cup.

    Scrap the League Cup.

    Scrap the EFL Trophy.

Create a EFL Cup where only Championship, League 1 and League 2 clubs compete, decent money on offer for the winner as an incentive. No gimmicks like handing the man of the match a free pizza. The final must be played at Wembley and a cap on ticket prices to make the final affordable. Semi finals to take place at neutral venues between the 2 clubs.

By removing the League Cup, this allows Premier League clubs a little breathing space where they don’t have to complain about fixture congestion. If the owners decide to send them over to Asia for a friendly, that’s on them.

The FA Cup is the one that holds the tradition, the memories. The League Cup is nothing but a sideshow until it gives a club the chance to play in Europe.

By replacing 2 cups for one will also help League 1 and 2 clubs that have to play an insane number of games if they were to go on 3 cup runs.

League Cup gives a good opportunity to win silverware. Derby have been awful in this competition apart from one season. Shame- the teams that have won in my lifetime like - Birmingham, Leicester, Swansea, Boro, Blackburn generally have not won much else in living memory. I've become disinterested in cups ONLY because we tend to field weakened sides and its very annoying.

  11. Unless you are really old and remember the Fa cup win or you supported Derby during the 70s, the odd promotion is the only success in memory and a cup win, whatever cup would be pretty nice. Having said that, not bothered if Derby go out. I am always more keen on the league cup and FA cup- we should ALWAYS go all out to win these. The clubs who have won the league cup - Derby should be on that list but always field weak teams.
The painful reality is Derby are, at the moment, a lower league side and this is a lower league competition so this is what we should aspire to, as depressing as that is. Dreaming of Wembley!

  12. Good match today. I think Derby played well in parts. A lot of balls didn’t work out but at least we were going for incisive passes etc rather than slow safe balls. Peterborough good at cutting stuff out. Great character at the end like so many times in the last year or two. Poor finishing by Peterborough, Derby could have scored more first half too. Forsyth was good when he came on and scored his trademark goal (was disallowed) but that kind of cross and head is a threat. Collins needs more time. Knight immense. Cashin saved us as well.

But out of them, the only 2 that I can see that are punishments meted out due to entering administration, are the point deduction and the EFL business plan.

Had we gone into administration and theoretically come out of it 1 week later, we could potentially be sitting very pretty right now.

Redundancies are often involved in insolvency and staff uncertainly and anxiety are almost always a factor of administration. And that’s theoretical, it’s just lucky Derby were rescued.
