  1. That away attendance table means nothing but the home attendance numbers are impressive. Haven’t DCFc got the top 3 attended matches this season? Can’t remember when the ticket office opened but remember I couldn’t get tickets to some games as they were off sale before the day weirdly due to the ticket office closure. Think the average would be closer 25k if ticket office had been open as there were the very low figures for a few matches after lockdown or when administration hit.

But why Leicester or Stoke? Surely given that scenario it would make more sense to share with Notts County? Lovely little ground with a capacity of around 20,000 perfect for League One and only 20 minutes away.

And Forest at home next door..

Not having that sorry! Absolutely no chance that would happen. All other dissolved clubs would have a cast iron case against EFL.

Dissolved clubs don’t exist anymore ! I doubt it would happen but stranger things could happen. Probably end up applying to conference. There are 23 teams there, space for an extra one?

Det suggests a solution to the stadium, might be a ground share with Stoke or Leicester.

    I like that idea.

It would leave mm with a stadium he can't get much money for or rent.

Who would would rent pride Park if it wasn't used by a football stadium, and knocking down pride Park to building housing would cost to much.

Who would like that idea? Just to spite Morris? Insane. Hate groundshare option - watch crowds plummet. Look at Coventry fiasco.

Im pretty sure hes still a v wealthy man

But no one knows his personal situation. Has he got some personal loan payable which is relevant to this situation? Has he no more money in the bank and is his wealth only wealth tied up in assets he owns- any properties and obviously the value of PP. Maybe he can’t sell PP for £1. He may have lost his money through DCFC and other businesses.

He can afford to lose 20m more than we can afford to lose our home.

its just a case does he need to lose 20 or lose face more…. I thought he was meant to be a fan ?

Can he actually afford to lose £20mil more, he may not have any money left apart assets.

I just hope he’s ready for the inevitable abuse he’s going to get when things aren’t going well. It’s all great when he’s the ‘saviour’ and no doubt having largely positive comments coming his way but, as we know, football fans are notoriously fickle and adulation can turn to hate in the blink of an eye.

So I hope he’s got a thick skin and won’t lose interest once the honeymoon period is over. I think his very public profile and presence on social media will work against him - and his relationship with fans - if/when this happens.

This isn’t really a criticism or concern about him as owner, more a feeling of exasperation that the mentality of a lot of modern (young) football fans, social media and the general malaise of society could work against us, particularly if he ends up being a sensitive soul.

If he’s that sensitive he doesn’t belong in business or running a football club

The issue of Council funding for PP (no matter where they get those funds from is interesting.

PP gets an attendance of over 500,000 people per year.

This is far greater than the Velodrome, Moorways, and other Council subsidised entertainment facities put together, so in terms of value for money it ought to be a no-brainer.

BUT: Public perception is that Swimming pools ,museums, athletic tracks, golf courses etc, should be owned by the people via the council. Football at professional level is awash with cash so no public funding should be spent. Further, football has a fairly bad reputation to non-fans, fights, vandalism, drunkenness, traffic and parking issues. City based fans make up far less than 10% of the population and for the 90+% the fate of DCFC is fairly unimportant. This puts the council in quite a bind when it comes to PP funding.

My non footy friends have pretty much the same reaction if the club folds-bit of a shame due to the history but never mind life goes on!

I think there is a strong feeling of support for Derby County in the city and I think any dissenting voices to council doing a deal for PP wont be that vociferous if it means the club is saved. Money spent on Velodrome etc case in point.

“The only derby that really matters, Leicester City and Nottingham Forest in the East Midlands Derby,” Leicester’s own Lineker said on Match of the Day’s Top 10 podcast, before adding: “Sorry Derby.”

The Match of the Day presenter and former Leicester striker then added the reason that Derby weren’t involved in the debate. “It’s quite interesting in the East Midlands derby because you could have an argument about which is the derby in the East Midlands,” he added.

“I’ve gone with Leicester vs Forest because it involves Leicester but a lot of people in the East Midlands would say that Forest vs Derby is the East Midlands derby but obviously I’m involved in this so there was no way that was going to happen.”

    Gary spouting s***

Very few people would view Forest v Leicester as the big rivalry in these parts. Just an excuse for Linekar to talk about Leicester.
I remember there was a Leicester fan coming on here trying to big up a rivalry or big up Leicester. Think he was on the Forest And Coventry sites as well.

Im not enjoying Gibbos return to Radio derby.
he does clearly have a gripe about mel morris from the way he critizes the decisions of the last owner, despite mel giving him a job when gibson was finished.

Having gibson with his moany old persons ways back as the match presenter only makes me appreciate chris coles more.
Gibson has turned into the current day version of Ian Hall.

He probably blames MM for his job loss. Just because someone gives you a job doesn’t mean they are immune from criticism.

I know we all have this love in with Rooney (me included), given the circumstances he has faced he has done an amazing job to put us within an outside chance of survival until fairly recently. Great job, I really want him to stay. But, I can’t really see the medias obsession with every vacancy at a premier league (or soon to be ex-premier league) club.

His well deserved reputation has been built on circumstances such clubs will not face next season. Neither Burnley or Everton will need a manager with just a proven track record galvanising a squad of ageing free transfers and academy players fighting against adversity for the clubs very survival.

I don’t mean to sound as harsh on Rooney as this post may seem but he is completely untested managing a team of highly paid recent premier league players that you’d expect to be pushing for automatic promotion next season if they are relegated. Even a dog fight in the premier league (should they stay up) is nothing like what Wayne has had to contend with this season.

Media obsession- Rooney name is a big name... more clicks more sales... link him with every job going. Rooney is proving himself as a capable manager for what it’s worth but the media is obsessed with names like Rooney to generate interest.

I just find it strange that our potential new owner who potentially is putting Paul Stretford on the board would potentially have Wayne leave.

Wouldn’t be up to him !

If the CK takeover happens and Rooney stays on then I see absolutely no reason why top 6 next season shouldn’t be a realistic expectation, it could even be a whole lot better. That’s not underestimating the league that’s Rooney knowing exactly what we need to be a competitive team and keeping the majority of this current group together. If CK doesn’t happen and Rooney goes then while I remain confident the clubs future will be secured as I think Mr Ashley would come to the table, the delays and uncertainty and maybe even further points deductions would mean we’d be playing catch-up and the season could be another relegation battle.

Also, fact we’ve not heard anything and EFL have confirmed they are still doing their due diligence, says to me they haven’t found any gremlins so far in CK’s bid, if they had then Percy or Nixon would have gone to press with it.

A worrying thing is 4 go down in league 1 so a points deduction is especially concerning if it happens. Hopefully CK takes over and no points deducted

Same team that has in essence come 17th in the Championship?

The team this season would easily win League One especially with Rooney and essentially without proper strikers (Excluding Plange).

The issue for next season is the fact that the most reliable goalscorer is likely not to be with us. So the goals we are trying to replace is a huge task.

I doubt this team would win league 1 easily. Lack of depth and injuries -and look at the away record. Every team challenging at the top of league 1 has a good goal scorer - scorer of 15 goals or more. Derby just doesn’t have this. I would think this team would put up a good fight but I think more depth and a striker will be needed to cope in that league. And yet we will lose a lot of players....

Out of interest, do you think this season's squad would get promoted from League 1? Do you think the restrictions (in terms of wages offered) next season will be more severe than this season? Do you think the appeal of the club, the fan base and the manager will be less?

Do I think we're definitely going straight back up? No. Do I think we've got a good chance? Absolutely.

I don’t think this seasons squad would get promoted. Think they would finish top half though. Away form embarrassing and lack of goals. Solid defence though and promising youth players. Need at least one in form striker to get promoted from league 1.

I was actually really angry when we signed Beck. He'd been a laughing stock at Boro' for how bad he was, and we were a good side. It was obvious to anyone who knew a smidgen about football that he would be an appalling signing, yet it was being talked about. And then it actually happened. It was baffling and extraordinary. And he proved even worse for us than he'd been for them. It makes me furious just to write this post now. What were we thinking? Embarrassing signing of an embarrassingly poor player.

I remember a picture in match magazine with Boro players celebrating and the caption - Beck has just left to sign for Derby! I did think oh no

Scored against us for Middlesbrough at Pride Park

Maybe so but remember Derby were going for European football then and the signing of Beck seemed strange at the time. A shame Derby never qualified for Europe or won a cup back then. Had a very good side for 2 or 3 prem seasons.
