Sweetness34 got a reaction from ariotofmyown in Steve bloomers washing errrrr I mean watching
Without thinking, I very nearly instinctively replied saying "well as a young man myself, I have fond memories of the Baseball Ground" before thinking a little harder and realising I'm on the eve of 38 years of age and although I had a season ticket for the last 2 seasons at the Baseball Ground, I was only 11 when we left!
My brother who is 2 years younger than me barely remembers it so it's actually quite mad to think that you're quite right, there really are people well into their 30s who either didn't go or don't remember the Baseball Ground.
How depressing

I hate to go to task on it , but if you an opposing fan sat in away end listening to that .It sounds like your about to face an army of derbyshire morris dancers waving their sticks ..........its not intimidating at all .
You get the U2 guitar instrumental on as the players come out the tunnel the whole ground would be up for it and the aways fans would deffo sense a were up for it game .

Can we not be a bunch of moaning Minnies about minor refereeing decisions? Go on the opposition forum and they'll be saying the same things about the ref. It was a good game that Peterborough edged as they were better than us, not because we might have had a throw in awarded to us in our own half.

Agreed, cant see us making up the 4 point gap with only 21 games remaining.

Ultimately, it's all about the team for me... it's a team game when all said and done.
Both Rhodes and May play for teams that haven't scored as many as us.
Arguably, we're doing just fine without them.

Ive also become very confident (which scares me)

It’s not been forgotten. I openly criticised him for conceding the penalty (and I’m pretty sure he’d freely accept that criticism) but that doesn’t mean I don’t recognise the good things he did last night.

What an overreaction to something very basic. Typical of this day and age though.
So the club have introduced safe standing but need to make it very clear to everybody that it isn't a general admision and doesn't mean you can go stand where you want like we used to on the popside.
It appears to me that in order to get that message across, they introduced more rigerous ticket checks before the very first match after the rails were installed.
And that gets the message across. A 5 second check to make sure you're not going to stand in another block to be with your mates, nothing more and nothing less.
Give it a few matches and they probably won't be as vigerous (if they are, then perhaps it might be time to start moaning)
It seams to me that a tempory slight diruption is a small price to pay for gettting what you've been wanting for a decade or two

Sweetness34 reacted to BramcoteRam84 in Derby vs Wycombe Wanderers
Very angry and frustrated tonight!! Genuinely thought we’d done it with a scrappy 1-0 when not at our best playing a team of anti-footballers, then the penalty, right in front of me, absolutely no way in my view, she looked at the Lino who didn’t give then pointed to the spot anyway. I agree with those saying it’s a 2023 penalty but I’d also say it’s one that VAR would give one week then not give it the next. It was extremely soft but then poor defending from Ward and not for the first time today.
As for Rebecca Welch, this is the third time she’s reffed us. She was excellent the first time, good the second, horrendous today. Managed the game really poorly making a rod for her own back with those early nonsensical yellow cards for Sibley and Mendez-Laing. The Collins Leahy (who is a proper Bamford by the way) handbags could’ve avoided 2 bookings easily, there were two challenges after then on Derby players which were stonewall yellow cards not given, ironically when the crowd shouted you don’t know what you’re doing after the Bird yellow, that decision was spot on, it was the poor decisions prior that contributed to ruining the game. The only time she was consistent was booking vokes for the same offence as Sibley, which then left her a problem when he booted a Derby player in the face, she could’ve easily sent Vokes off for two bookings but that would’ve been a bad call IMO. Genuinely thought she was a class act but take it all back after today, she’s as useless as the usual rabble of officials we get week in week out at this level. Definitely no worse, we’ve had worse refs this season.
Thought we tried to play today but the players weren’t quite at it. Wildsmith Cashin Ward Hourihane Sibley all below par. Ward I thought really struggled and I’m surprised he stayed on.
Still unbeaten in 6, we were never going to win 10-12 in a row which we would need to do to get the results we want over Christmas and New Year where maximum points will be really useful to us. A win on Thursday sets us up nicely for some tricky Christmas fixtures.

I find it funny people have spats with each other and bear grudges. No offence to anyone, but I really can’t remember who I’ve argued with and who I’ve had a nice conversation with. I think I have a text based version of face blindness. If there’s a post I want to reply to, I reply to it. I might back you up in an argument one day, and then sarcastically point out the ridiculousness of your post the next day. And you might think that’s a bit bipolar, but I honestly haven’t even registered who it is I’m replying to.
I think the whole world is just itching for a fight at the minute though. It’s very obvious politically. Never has there been more far right vs far left all over the world (maybe there has, but not since I’ve been old enough to take notice). And I think that angst and tension is filtering down into people’s normal lives.
We all just need to convert to Buddhism or something. Shave our heads, throw our phones away, and go live on a mountain top.

Sweetness34 reacted to Teesste in B4 - for ever a Ram 🐏
Boro fan here, donning hard hat and coming in peace.
Been an occasional stalker on this board (ever since all the unpleasantness!) but felt compelled to register today after seeing this sad news.
B4 was a poster I saw popping up on almost every thread that appeared on here and his passion for his football team was so clear with every word he typed. Fans with this level of devotion are few and far between and should be treasured by clubs and other fans alike. I'm sure he will leave a huge hole behind for everyone who knew him. Sending condolences to all friends, family and fellow DCFC supporters for your loss.
All the best, Steve (not that one!)

We were here so it wasn't that difficult. After the fourth official spoke to him Warne was mostly sat in the dugout with Barker doing the coaching.
