Or black… people tend to forget that we have some small populations of black squirrels……estimates now put them at over 20,000. They have  enjoyed a steady but continual rise in their numbers since first being  discovery in the UK in 1912.
Originally thought to be greys with a DNA defect, research now suggests that they are American black squirrels, who possibly escaped from a private collection. Their few colonies tend to be in East Anglia & Hertfordshire
To put their population into some sort of context we have around 140-150,000 Reds & 2.5-3m Greys.
The Reds population continues to be under pressure, which is why their remaining strongholds need to be so vehemently protected from the more dominant Greys. Strangely enough a slight rise in Pine Martin numbers (still estimated to be at less than 4000) appears to be helping the Reds in some areas were both they & the Greys populations overlap each other.

Arent they the same 'official' figures that you have used in the past to tell us how deadly the disease is?
Are you now saying that the infections are much higher than the official figures and you knowingly over egged the mortality rate?

We remember how your fans supported us through our darkest hours.
We now have our club back and we are on our way back, but your fans were brilliant at Bloomfield Road singing all the Oyston out songs with us. We had a mini riot during that game, a night match and later that season, we started boycotting games home and away.
Word is, our fans are 100% behind you during this hopefully short term blip in your great clubs situation.
    Good luck from the Seasiders!

Can you imagine trying to inspire and motivate a team that has twice been shunted back into negative figures, and now finds itself once again written off as already relegated?
If you think that doesn't affect performance, you're kidding yourself.

Battled hard in atrocious conditions, but lost 1-0 to a good finish that VAR might have ruled offside. Fair result though, as Morecambe had the better chances and Richardson in the Buxton goal had an excellent game. He looked capable of playing at a higher level. Wardy showed some good touches but left his shooting boots at home.

A fair assessment. Shame Diego's shot came back off the post. And then his injury. I thought Buxton tired in the last 10 minutes. Not surprising, they're only part-timers.

The big day approacheth. Morecombe 4 steps higher than Buxton, it's a huge ask. Can't envisage anything but a tonking but one can dream. Let's hope Wardy weaves his magic.
Wintery showers forecast, should make it interesting. Think it's on Radio Derby. Didn't know they knew Buxton existed.

Seriously, I'd probably do tours of Derbyshire non-league games with like-minded mates, having the crack, visiting great pubs, drinking great beer, and never give Sky, the EFL or the EPL another penny or a second thought.

Spent the day with an old friend who i haven't seen in 30 years.  (He moved abroad)  He is not in a great way, health wise or mentally and all he has is his aging mother and his two old friends from decades ago.  We went to the pool and it was lovely, snowing the whole time and then for something to eat after and chatting, lots of chatting.  He told me it was his best day in a long time, that makes me feel good, so it's been a good day.
