Absolutely spot on, Crewton! As ever a visiting team only got a fraction of the cards they should gave been given. And their reputation as a footballing side is in question. Yes, they do have some talented players, but inevitably a few moments of interplay quickly gave way to the big hoof.
The red card was fully justified - I thought so at the time, and the highlights make it clear. It wasn’t Barky buying the foul, he was tripped deliberately.
Re our “poor passing”: apart from a few sloppy passes around the 70/80 minutes mark, if you look at what the players were trying to do, then the passes weren’t poor, they were passes that nearly worked, and there is a difference. Many times an inch or two difference either side of where the ball actually went and we would have had players in on goal.
Finally, the difference in how we are playing compared with last season is quite breathtaking. We thought that Rosenior was the brains behind Rooney achieving what he did last season, but the evidence would suggest not. Apart from the opening couple of matches, the Cocu-ball “shtay in the match” approach has gone. Even our goal-kick routine is much more direct. Unless thst is because Peterborough are a more attack-minded team so we don’t need to keep prising the bus away from the bus-stop! Our play is much, much more expansive, and us a whole load better to watch, regardless if the result - all credit to Rosenior for that!

    Interesting game that
    fantastic finish to the game
Peterborough we’re ok but we were wasteful again
on Tuesday against WBA we had energy in midfield with Thompson knight and Smith whilst today Bird and Hourahan were struggling against a 5 man midfield and made little movement and I have to be honest it’s a big honour to captain the side but Bird needs to be on top form or he will lose his starting spot. Roberts has done nothing wrong but Forsyth is better in terms of delivering the ball and giving us an out ball

    Great result
No doubt haters will say they played a weakened team etc, but it's always nice to beat a team further up the football pyramid.
Also want us to go as far as possible, even if it's not a money spinner and we won't win the thing. Winning means something whatever the competition

You are consistently the best poster on the forum by some distance. Excellent summary.
27 shots, dominant in possession. It’ll come. Rosenior can’t take  too much flak after today. All we  need is a bit of luck, some better clinical finishing and we’ll be alright. And by alright I mean in the promotion hunt. We’re playing lovely, cohesive football. Which in itself is quite something considering the pre season. Lots of reasons to be optimistic for the future.

Better start to the season than I'd hoped for. Despite being a brand new team thrown together very quickly we are playing some nice stuff at times and creating loads of chances. Liam needs to be brave and believe in his way of playing, the worst thing he can do at the moment is listen to criticism from fans.
Hopefully he has been around football for long enough to know that fans are generally very fickle (not having a go at any on here, its just a football thing that happens).
We have had an horrendous couple of of years and we stuck together to keep our club alive. Its now back to normal where some fans think we should win every game and have a sense of superiority over so called smaller teams. Perhaps these fans are embarrassed to draw at Fleetwood if they work with gumps? Whatever, tell them to eff off or ignore them, it doesn't matter.
We are where we are, we are fighting to build a squad capable of getting us out of this tough division. So far, Liam seems to be doing everything right, the players have gelled far quicker than is normal and despite still getting to know each other are dominating games, working hard for each other and the gaffer.
We will not win every game, we will have to be patient, but if the team continues to create chances we will start to convert draws into wins......its not going to be easy but from what I've seen so far I believe we are on the right track.
Others have mentioned Brian Clough and Jim Smith, I was a bit young when Clough came in 1967 but I can clearly remember Jim getting grief early on before Igor arrived part way through the season we got promoted......
After all we'd been through I am a bit disappointed that a few on here are so quick to moan, but its half a dozen folks on a forum that only 5% (if that) of our fanbase uses, so nowt to worry or fall out about.
As long as we all do our best to get behind the players every match, thats the only important thing, and never forget, thats the only thing what us fans can do to actually influence results.
    Come on you Rams ?

Nothing to worry about. Panic when we’re not creating owt.

this stage of the season is about performances not results and if we keep starting like we are doing the results will follow.

Relax and enjoy being frustrated at the club not finishing off chances rather than the impending doom of last season.

Give it a rest mate. The set up was fine as the 20+++ shots on goal indicate. How many times did we create as many chances in a game last season, or the season before? Against Shrewsbury we did look toothless, whereas today we created enough chances to have wrapped up the game inside 30 minutes. There's a clear and material difference and pretending otherwise does you few favours.

We're not scoring away, as we didn't last season, but that's where the similarity ends, I wouldn't mind betting that we've already had more attempts at goal in 3 games this season, than we had in 23 away games last season.

This entirely. For me the manager's job is to find a system that creates more good chances than the opposition, something we've done in every match so far. Can't ask more from Rosenior.

I bet there will be a few wrist slashers out tonight. I’m not one of them - that was excellent stuff.
Created, attacking intent, decent opportunities created, decent openings, just not had that luck that we need to score.
I have no doubt it will come very soon.

derbydaz22 reacted to Crewton in Jason Knight
Everyone seems to be convinced that Jason is already on a higher salary than we are able to offer under the Business Plan, but I'm not. It could simply be that he's been offered the best deal we can and is not currently willing to sign up.
Either way, I'm dubious that Birmingham could afford to offer much more, and certainly not as much as others who have parachute payments, so it's hard to believe that they could be the best option available for him if he's determined to leave (which isn't even clear at this point).
One things for sure - even without a business plan, we shouldn't be offering any player much more than the £12k/week we're apparently restricted to by the EFL.
