Duck me lads we ain't even kicked off yet 

To remind us of more optimistic times from the summer? 

In my opinion the discontent isn’t about 1 game it’s about the direction we appear to be heading in, there doesn’t seem to be much of a plan or strategy

Billy Sharp already represented the scrapings from beneath the (free agent) barrel, we may need to wheel out Howard Carter to identify anyone much lower.

The frustrating thing is - he’s known about these departures for a while. Didzy was earlier in Summer and interest in Knight had been around for a while. You prepare for that. You make that a priority. Instead, we’re left chasing our tails! So frustrating

And he's slow. He's soooo slow. The last thing we need.

The evidence that he will score goals wherever he goes is pretty sparse in recent seasons.

I would add that not everything has to polarised opposites. You can criticise Warne without calling for him to be sacked. You can question our budgets without wanting to spunk £6m on Bradley Johnson. You can suggest we have bought very slow. CB without personally trying to melt him down for glue. Most people are putting together constructive criticisms and are being met with scorn and personal attacks.
The main issue is we have a manager who wants to play a high tempo pressing game and we have bought slow, ageing players to add to an already slow ageing squad.
If anyone has a convincing solution to that quandary, which involves a slow back line and a pedestrian CM supporting slow CFs in a successful and cohesive high press, I'll have more faith.
Till then I'll remain a sceptic.   
 

How many people have called for him to be sacked? 3? 4?
Plenty more are concerned by what they seen and heard, but have been told we aren't allowed to point out any issues.

I disagree. I was at the game and watched it live. Bradley wasn't winning balls at either end of the pitch and he was hesitant in playing out from the back. 
Not doing anything might not be making mistakes but I think it is his job in the centre to organise the defence and lead by example. I saw a lot of that from Fozzy last night and very little of it from Bradley.
Nelson's distribution was dreadful going forwards and far too often he turned back and took the easy option. 
 

I think if I am 22, being played in  a system I don't think suits my skills (or reflects 12 years of my academy training) then yes, I'd rather have cake today than the promise of maybe cake tomorrow if I'm a good boy. Especially if I'm being offered my favourite, instead of having to make do with brandy snaps all season! 
I don't think anyone can criticise the commitment of any of our academy graduates after what they've been through in the last few years.
If any go, they do so with my very best wishes.

What does it say about us when players are getting their heads turned by Hull city and Bristol ?  Players certainly aren’t bothered about playing in front of 29,000 every home game .

I like Bird more than I like Warne

That's because they had the freedom of Pride Park to operate in! 

He’s literally the only midfielder capable of driving forwards with the ball (highlights from last night show that despite a disappointing performance he was able to shimmy his way through 3 Blackpool players before laying it into the forward as just 1 example). 
He has got a killer pass on him (Stoke pre season for just 1 example). 
He is technically gifted and completely 2 footed. 
 
Obviously I’m talking about him in the context we find ourselves but he’s impressed Cocu, Lampard, Rooney, Rosenior and Warne. Regardless of thoughts on individual managers that is 5 managers in a row who have rated him. 
 
I’ll ignore any lazy tropes about ‘always goes sideways’ too. 

I said after the game on Saturday that Bird did not look interested.
Half hearted closing down. Barely put a shift in.
Apparently it was the same again from him tonight.
If he doesn't want to be here. Let him go.
He offers us absolutely nothing anyway.
I'm sure we'll be able to replace the one goal he scored last season.

Against a real quality side we’re going to get drilled like a stripper at a stag do.

Its the style he wants to play with the players he has available that concerns me. Talk of working harder when most of the squad are the wrong side of 30 and have dodgy injury profiles and don't have the legs. Over-committing players forward when we have no pace in the defensive side of our team. We are a car crash waiting to happen on the break when we lose it and it doesn't even take much quality to exploit the weakness. 

Forget the concerns about what's going on in attack, having just caught those highlights and I couldn't watch the game as I was working I'd be gravely concerned about the tortoise and the slug partnership in the centre of our defence, route one easy as you like every time in behind. Doesn't matter what lack of quality there is in the opposition if we gift that option to any side in this league, you don't need quality to use it just pace and its not even really quick just comparatively quick. We cannot play a high line with the likes of Bradley and Cash.
