I think its something like £70m, I know its a big figure. Im sure that some will be 'written off' by the EFL due to Covid but cannot see how they only get 9 points. On the points scale it should be at least 12. I think ours is a £4m overspend so should be 4 points not 12 -3 suspended.

I would think there are others, Stoke had a massive overspend they are putting down to Covid. I think if everyones books were put down on a table and treated the same way there would be a few on negative points at the moment.

The EFL needs to be consistent with their judgements. DCFC getting 3 points suspended for paying players two weeks late and the Owls getting 6 points suspended for not paying at all or at least months late dosnt compare.

If the EFL play the P&S rules with a straight bat we will not be on our own at the bottom.

I thought Stoke did something like write off their whole teams value?

What never (or rarely) gets reported is the weekly wages. Focus is always on the capital spend, but as the earlier post notes the wage bill almost tripled in a few years....

Yeah this is so true. A 5 year contract at 40k a week is 10M. Plus NI contributions. Assume  If you've signed them for £10M that means every year you lose over £4M on the books... How big clubs can ever justify paying big transfer fees and wages is beyond me

Apologies if this has already been posted. It's impossible to keep up with all the threads at the moment but this is essential listening.

The Price of Football - Derby County in administration

    https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/Derby-county-in-administration/id1482886394?i=1000535953160

One thing that stands out. The HRMC filed a winding up order against the club in January 2020, which was at the start of the pandemic in the UK but a couple of months before lockdown, so the idea that COVID is the reason we're in administration is clearly nonsensical, despite Mel's claims to the contrary.

I can't bring myself to listen to KM on this. I quite like his podcast but I get the impression he really hates the club and not always convinced he has been fair on us.

I'm also not convinced he is genuine on feeling bad for us as fans.

    Can anyone quash my fears?

  4. Lots of people here seem to think having forest on the board makes them more likely to dislike Derby. I disagree, I don't think there's anything between Derby and forest owners, if anything keeping the other in the division means a game where they can sell more tickets at higher prices... It's in forest and derbys interest for the other to be in the league, but not for a team like boro.

Yeah it's pointless trying to make sense of a test you can take up to 3 days before you return, that anyone could have taken for you in the case of some of the LFTs that you take with you...

Just did it today. Very easy at the hospital I did it (QuironSalud chain).

They give you a certificate with the result 15min after. Whole process takes about 25min.

Have you checked the place you're in on Tripadvisor forums, there's always threads on there with people asking where they can get tested on their travels?

Yeaa unfortunately it seems like most people get tested at the airport just before departure but because our flight is relatively early seems like more of a hassle.

The other options all seemed a bit more complicated or a bit more unclear. This option seemed to be OK because it was a hospital next to a metro station just outside of town.. Probably should have just done those ones you take with you..

Seems a bit ridiculous to me these predeparture tests because you can get on an internal flight or train without any sort of test anyway.

  7. Currently abroad in Spain.

Masks still very commonplace here inside and outside in crowded areas although everything is open as normal.

Interestingly they use the more effective FFP2 mask here more than the surgical or cloth masks.

Bit weird having to go to a full on hospital to get a covid test before coming back.. Can't seem to get tested in pharmacies or anything here.

  8. From what it sounds like, the fact that there seems to be a desire to come to an agreement means theres some sort of ambiguity there - id wager that Derby have refused to go to a simple straight-line amatorisation which has put the efl in a huff. EFL maybe have looked at the accounts and there working shows us being over p&s limits, whilst our working shows otherwise.

If they were to charge us, we'd appeal and frankly we don't want that as we'd be under a longer Embargo and the efl are split where some clubs dont want to throw more money in litigation where there's a good chance theyd lose whilst other clubs still continue their crusade against us.

They've got us over a barrel because we need to rid ourselves of these problems to get the club sold and the Embargo is ruining our clubs chances.
