I was today years old when I learnt that Burton was in the West Midlands. Amazing when you consider I’ve lived in Swad/Burton for the best part of 30 years!

City have definitely bought success, but still, money doesn’t always do that, as we well know. You still have to spend it well. City have certainly done that, and you have to admire the way they are run to an extent - they always recruit to match the philosophy of football they play. A recruitment team closer to home could learn a lot from that...

Have just received mine- nobody took the hint for Christmas so had to buy my own! So looking forward to reading it! May be a bit of a struggle as I read mostly on kindle and can’t hold a big book for long, but that’ll make it last longer.

To be honest, it's a style I've always loved writing in (did me zero favours when it came to those serious uni assessments!) and so I wanted the book to reflect something I'd enjoy reading. It's quality to see that has happened for quite a lot of you out there. I also always wanted to just get the key thoughts of people and make sure it was something genuinely unique and insightful, rather than just the rambles of a disgruntled fan over the years. This forum and the takes of various supporters really helped to get a full feel for the overall opinions, so I didn't want to just go in on my thoughts, because honestly, who wants those?!

And without being soppy, massive thanks to all of you. I came into 2020 intent on finishing the book and making a success of it, but it's gone way beyond what I thought it would do. It's been a horrid old year but hopefully those of you who have picked up a copy have found it's brought just that little bit of enjoyment to you. I've got a couple more ideas in the pipeline (one Derby and two a bit wider) that I'm hoping to get stuck into in 2021...

You’d have to imagine (hope) last night hurt the players as much as it did us, CKR looked dejected. It’s going to be a big task to try and get the team believing again ready for Saturday. 

I have a rental property in Matlock and the downstairs neighbours are the vilest things I've ever known. He's like a cross between a dead gecko and Jimmy Saville, his hands are all gnarled and he has this broad Nottingham drawl. His wife is 3 feet tall, never speaks, just skulks behind his legs hissing. To be fair to her she does look like she's had a very hard life.
Every tenant I've ever had has left because of these creatures. I've had tenants call the police on several occasions but he's an ex copper himself so I think he knows what he can and can't get away with.
I had to tell the estate agent not to offer the flat to single women, people with children or anyone who seems in any way vulnerable because he'll just relentlessly bully them until they leave.
The saving grace is that my brother's marriage has broken down so he's in there for the foreseeable. Loves a good scrap he does.

The’ll just sell some random squad to Olympiacos for £50m when it starts getting a bit dicey. You can’t over inflate the price of your stadium but it’s fine for players!
